I dunno. It seems to me like this skill has potential, and it's hard to belive that nobody uses it. Has anybody ever run a build incorperating a rit like this?

Some guild was running them in a R-spike type build. It failed pretty hardcore. BUT, if you did that weapon spell that does +50ish life steal, would that stack, and would that work like I think it would?

Hmm actually, Nightmare Weapon would be bad...
For 12 seconds, target ally has a Nightmare Weapon. Target ally's next 3 successful attacks are reduced by 10...42 damage and steals up to 10...42 Health.
But Warmongers or Splinter would be ownage :P

Nightmare wuld be bad coupled with Spirits strength, but he means something like:
Several of these:
Ritualist/Ranger
Channeling=12+3+1
Spread rest as desired
[skill]Nightmare Weapon[/skill][skill]Dual Shot[/skill][skill]Distracting Shot[/skill] etc.,etc.
And maybea
[wiki]Sight Beyond Sight[/wiki] and/or [wiki]Seeking Arrows[/wiki] to ensure the spike goes through.
with one of these
Necromancer/?
Blood Magic=12+3+1
Spread rest as desired
[skill]Order of the vampire[/skill] 7 other skills go here
This way you get a purely lifesteal spike (unprottable) for 210 dmg per Ritualist.

It would be cool if you could work all of these into a team along with those 210 dmg spikers [skill]Barbed Arrows[/skill][skill]Toxicity[/skill][skill]Apply Poison[/skill][skill]Pestilence[/skill][skill]Edge of Extinction[/skill][skill]Martyr[/skill]

Yea I have tried all of those except the Paragon one. They work well, but it matters on where you use them. The warrior one is good between PvE and PvP, but the assassin is preferred in PvP.

11+3+1 Spawning Power
12 Spear mastery
6+1 communing
Cast enchants and a weapon spell. Chuck spears at things. Rinse, repeat, wipe hands on pants.
If you want, you can take disrupting throw or something, but everything dies so quickly it really doesn't matter.

The para is by far the best for PvE. The melee classes make a squishy stand in a place they really shouldn't be standing in, and the ranger has slow attack speed that makes it better suited to spiking with nightmare weapon. Para = fast attack speed + lots of 5e and adrenal spear attacks + range.

So, your saying Ritualist/Paragon?
Heavy Spear and Spawning I would guess for the bar you posted but no 80 armor.
If you are saying Paragon/Ritualist...doesn't that mean your elite Spirit's Strength will only be doing like 1 damage because you have zero Spawning?

Yes, of course Rt/P, I thought that went without saying. Your AL is actually 60 + 15 from ghost forge insignia + 8 from shield, for a total of 83 AL, which really isn't so horrible. That being said, the problem with the melee builds is that you don't have very strong defense. It's much more fun to hang out in the back and chuck high damage spears at things.

I have had the best luck using Spears as well... been saying it for months here on the forums.
I mostly use the standard Vital Weapon style, but when I go channeling I pack nightmare and splinter, and take gaze of fury to use on opponents' spirits.
For spear skills I only use disrupting and cruel (merciless? forget which one is non elite..)/blazing depending on my mood, mighty throw is also nice to pack a nice punch.
major communing gloves, superior spawning hat, attunements, zealous spear of enchanting 15% while ench.
If you want to get some other fun results, pack on your wintergreen spear of enchanting... and drop your spear skills a little in regards to channeling++ thanks for that spear btw anet

Thanks for explaining, the armor thing was tripping me up...I was up all night.
It does look like a fun build offensively, although as you said, mobs might get mad at you and get personal.

OK I am now a Ritualist/Paragon and I am very satisfied with the results thus far, and I don't even have the Spirit's Strength Elite yet.
I have been using Splinter Weapon, and on occasion Nightmare, as my main weapon spell and it rocks. 16 Channel/12 Spear...will try Strangelove's build when I can get the elite. Nightmare Weapon seems to be an adequate way for some self heal.
I will want to get an interrupt skill of some kind though.

[skill]Disrupting Throw[/skill][skill]Wailing Weapon[/skill][skill]Warmonger's Weapon[skill]
Well... you're into channeling already so maybe one of those weapon spells or disrupting throw can do the trick if you really want interrupt... (don't think there are many more options as Rt/P though)
(and why doesn't the warmonger's weapon work with that skill thingy? :s... it's "For 5...13...16 seconds, if target ally attacks a foe who is not attacking, that foe is interrupted." 10/1/20)

Thanks, Dex. Let's see, Disrupting Throw has a shorter timer but is conditional...err, on a condition. Ya, I'll go with Wailing. I heard the fight with Shiro calls for a lot of interrupting and I don't really want to use Dissonance.

ran the paragon version in r/a last night, Wow what a run, insane damage could not believe the damage this dishes out. dropped a few caster in one chain amazing almost hits as hard as a boa sin w/out conditions. The obvious draw backs are no real self defense and self heal. so you definelty need monk support or another rit to keep you up!
Anyway thanks to gumby and dr strangelove for this build just AWESOME~!!
Peace!!

Ya, only downside is defense and self heal. But the damage is great for taking down a single target and then moving onto the next. Getting more than one mob on you becomes a problem though.
But, I have the template saved for future use.

Does this deal more damage than a Paragon with 12 Communing and 16 Spear Mastery and with Brutal Weapon? He could also use Natural Temper...
I can only think one pro for using Paragon instead... More armor. But Ghost Forge insignia compensates. Also if the enchantment gets removed the damage is minimal.
But if the Paragon is enchanted, the damage drops by 22... :P

If it's a Paragon main, Spirit's Strength is nigh-worthless (it's Spawning-based).
