Rt/N MM help
So I'm a MM wannabe but I only have Prophecies and Factions. That means no SoLS for e-management. Would it be feasible to create an Rt/N Minion Master? I know of the drawbacks of lower number of minions, less dmg dealt, but Boon of Creation seems like an awesome e-management skill for an MM. Are the drawbacks really that bad? Can any Rt/N MMs out there share their experiences and thoughts?
Thanks in advance
Note: I don't want a minion bomber, i want a minion master, in every commonly understood sense of the term =)

rits can make very good bombers, but are terrible as minion masters. death magic maxed out at 12 really restricts what you can do.

Its a pretty good Build and the lack of animation power is pretty unimportant as they are not there to fight but to be created and killed.
Animate Bone Minions
Boon of Creation
Explosive Growth
Death Nova
That's the basis of the build
I suppose you could run with N/Rit but you could only get a limited effect because you couldn't put points into Spawning Power other than by runes.

you can't use runes for your secondary profession.
anyways, the OP can't use spirit's gift, since he doesn't have NF.

I've done a few things with minions and rits and looking back it really wasn't as effective as a straight up necro one.
However you do have prophecies skills and that gives me an idea that you might want to try; I am thinking that since ritualists can't produce as high level minions but the minions it does produce have much more health than their necro counterparts they would make a great "minion wall". I would be interested to see what you could do using Aura of the Lich as the elite to spam blood of the master giving great minion survivability. But that's just my build tinkering side talking, take it or leave it, just a thought.

No, you cannot be a Minion Master with anything other than a Necro primary. You'll be missing 4 ranks of death magic, and that means you'll be limited to 8 minions instead of 10; your minions will each do less damage and have less armor than a real necromancer's minions (spawning power will counteract the lower life at least); and your minion healing spell will heal for noticeably less. There's simply nothing a Rt/N can do to make up for these shortcomings. Rt/N "minion masters" are just plain inferior.
It used to be that a Rt/N with explosive growth was on par with a N/X as a Minion Bomber. But, since Dwayna's Sorrow, and the update that made the hero AI use Dwayna's Sorrow on minions, it's a lot harder to say that anything really competes with N/Mo for minion bombing anymore.

The armor gap is so big that they have less overall survivability despite the higher health.

The real reason why you want to run a necro MM is simple. SR is simply the most overpowered caster primary in the game.
The lack of SoLS won't hurt you in the slightest!
Considering you don't have C3 - that means no [skill]Order of Undeath[/skill] - which means you have a free elite slot. AND if you feel that you don't have enough energy - you can always run a 12/10/8 attribute allocation - with 8 (+1) in blood and use your elite slot on [skill]Offering of Blood[/skill]. Personally I feel it's a waste because you could have used those points for something better (like raising prot to 9 and bring [skill]Aegis[/skill] or if you are one of those people that insists on bringing a self-heal ... a self-heal).

rit bombers are still very competitive, because of [[spirit's [email protected]]. it heals fo more health, can remove up to 2 conditions, and does not require a third attribute spread. no matter how you slice it, [[spirit's [email protected]] is superior to [[dwayna's [email protected]].

I would leave all mm duties to a hero, managing 3 enchantments would get really, really, really annoying after 5 minutes. Heros can also death nova and jagged bones like theres no tommorow.

I second la cabra. Heroes can remove a lot of the repetitive no-brainer tasks while you run around PVE, just be aware that Artificial Intelligence is still way below Human Creativity. Whenever possible, bring guildies or friends along, while avoiding PUGs.

That should still work, but [jagged bones] is a better elite, [Feast for the Dead] works better for a minion heal (particularly after you jagged someone, blow up minion on call, lovely idea), but those are both nightfall.
I might bring a second animate over Rotting flesh. Bone fiends can be useful.
I'm a big fan of Death pact signet as a res, but that's your choice.
Signet of Lost Souls is Soul Reaping, so it wouldn't help you anyway, but Boon of creation with Bone Horrors should keep you mostly up on energy. If you have EotN, [Energetic Was Lee Sa] might be a good replacement for Rotting Flesh.
I ran something similar, and it worked pretty well. Of note, the healing effect of Spirit's Gift was highly useful. Saw lots of blue 41s floating over my party.
On a side note, a Hero with Death Nova can do some of the bombing for you

WTB Nightfall and [Jagged bones].
Jagged is best if you want to go bomber, it's the simple truth.

I made this joke last week. It wasn't even funny then. Otherwise, this post fails for so many reasons, the first being how can you be three Professions?
(I wish you could be three Professions in GW2, that would be so crazy. I'll be a Rit/N/R. Energy = LOL.)

That's what YOU think. I want Soul Reaping AND Spawning Power AND Expertise AND Energy Storage AND Fast Casting! And a minion-management panel! AAAAAAAHHHHH!
*Goes to lie down before the speculation makes his head go boom.*

It's even better with this, as Jagged triggers all the creation feats too. I'll use Feast for the Dead to trigger everything on a jagged enchanted minion.
