Xinrae's Weapon - Rit Builds .
So with the new major buffs to the ritualist skills , WoR and caretakers might be overtaken by Xinrae's Weapon , let's call it Xw .
The new skill allows the ritualists to do some protecting aswell as healing , which was really needed .
WoR didn't negify damage and Caretakers was just used for some offensive utility in GvG-build with 3 monks or more . [aka smiter-monk support .]
Ok now that Xw does some protection aswell its well good for anti-ganking ; beeing at main team to counter spikes ; or just to use the 80life steal .
AntiGanking : Archer is getting ganked by cripshot ; just spam Xw on the archer and you win loads of time by the cripshot retreating for troll .
Its almost impossible to interupt [exept nice timing ofc ].
[ Elite Weapon Spell. For 8 seconds, the next time target ally takes damage from a foe that damage is limited to 5% of that ally's max Health and that ally steals up to 20...68...80 Health from that foe. ]
GvG-Running Builds
The most Ritualist running builds are based on elite skill - WoW - Wb - running skill - running skill - 3 utility / damage skill . [In my opinion splinter and prot. was kalo. are a must ]
Ritualist / Assassin [most frequent one]
[Xinrae's Weapon][Weapon of Warding][Wielder's Boon][splinter weapon][ancestors' rage][Protective Was Kaolai][dash][Dark escape]
You can vary in the second proffesion for running skill :
Ritualist / Dervish
[Xinrae's Weapon][Weapon of Warding][Wielder's Boon][splinter weapon][ancestors' rage][Protective Was Kaolai][life][pious haste]
Ritualist / Warrior
[Xinrae's Weapon][Weapon of Warding][Wielder's Boon][splinter weapon][ancestors' rage][Protective Was Kaolai][shield bash][sprint]
Ritualist / Ranger
[Xinrae's Weapon][Weapon of Warding][Wielder's Boon][splinter weapon][ancestors' rage][Protective Was Kaolai][life][natural stride]
Ritualist / Paragon [this build is not advised ; only when ganking or splitting .]
[Xinrae's Weapon][Weapon of Warding][Wielder's Boon][splinter weapon][ancestors' rage][Protective Was Kaolai]["Fall back"!]["Make Haste"!]
Attributes : 12restoration +1headset+1minorrune.
10channeling +1minorrune.
8of the second proffesion's attribute.
Weapons : normal 40/40 ; defensive sets ; highsets

I absolutely love [Xinrae's Weapon] now. It's an unstrippable combination of [Protective Spirit] and [vengeful weapon]! Really, you could stick this on almost any restoration build and the skill would work wonders.

The only thing I don't like about this spell is that it's somewhat of a gamble because it removes itself after one attack, which could be either [unsuspecting strike] or [flare].

Why must your remind us of the blasphemy of the Ritualist primary profession, which is N/Rt's?
Anyways, we all know Xandra is easier on the eyes. lol!

Other thread about it, but the problem is that ancestors/splinter are more questionable without VoD cluster****. With the 8v8 emphasis, caretakers/channeled spike assist is one of the better reasons to stick with rit flaggers.

See I don't think you're yet aware of how much GvG has changed.

Not like AB really matters but what do you think of this Xw build for Alliance Battles?

That looks nice. I've been trying a hybrid bar with Xinrae's Weapon instead of Weapon of Remedy, but I missed the condition removal. Wielder's Remedy is a nice solution.

I tried this in AB:
[build=OAej8NhMJPZsoJxzaD+FYDTmNA]
I only pug Ab and never have any need for a running skill as its kind of pointless if whole group doesnt have one, i just use return if someones running ahead of the group and keep up plus its a great skill to use when in trouble.
Spamming vengeful and xinraes is so really effective you do heavy armor ignoring damage and keep someone alive at same time.
I would love to have GoLE though then i wouldnt need have to use Lee Sa ashes. I just find it nice to have some extra energy regen if i have to burn through it all fast, especially when moving from area to area.

Right and with a caster spear, it's fully maintainable out side of while holding ashes.
One thing I forgot to mention is to keep in mind that WoW has a longer recharge time in AB. Good thing is, you'll spend most of your time casting your two other weapon spells and WoW is still maintainable if needed.

The 2 sec casting time on Lee Sa is prone to interrupts more so than glyph. Return might be useful for kiting but I always find AB to be a game of speed so I'd have to take [dash] too.
Soothing memories might seem nice at first but Mend Body & Soul has a bit more raw healing power and has extra utility if someone else happens to bring a spirit in tow.
EDIT: Running field tests now and it works like a charm but energy can be a problem if you try to defend for too long.

A nice use of Xinrae's Weapon is when a caster has been cursed with backfire, just cast Xinraes's weapon on the cursed team member. You'll prevent most of the damage from backfire and the curse will actually "backfire" on the Mesmer.

In AB you want to go support with ancestor's/splinter.
As a pure prot healing build a monk will outdo you.
