Default So about pvp...

So here's whats up. I've been a Rt for 20 levels now, and an elite armor set and a junk load of money gone i am thinking, huh, pvp is sounding pretty cool right now. So i hit up the guru here, wiki, guild and alliance chat. Took a good look on PvX, and came to the conclusion that all pvp builds on pvx include an elite skill that is found on nothing but Nightfall, and roughly 1 or 2 more skills as well. This is where my problem lies. I don't have nightfall. This happens to be the only expansion i am missing. SO, i have spent countless hours trying to come up with something that i can pvp with, and not be a resto rit. Also, i have been spirit spamming since day 1, and it's getting old. I am out of ideas, money, and really don't know what to do. I also don't really want to become a ritualist that takes about 7/8 skill from another proffession and call it a pvp build. I am not asking for a build, but more or less suggestions on what direction i should head, or anything i should look into.

(Sorry for the little rant here, but i have no other ideas )

Well the main elite which is popular is [[Offering of Spirit] which does come from Nightfall, but [[Signet of Spirits] is basically a Factions equivalent with a 5 second longer recharge...and you HAVE to be within earshot of a spirit.

[[Xinrae's Weapon] and [[Weapon of Remedy] builds might be hard to create a Factions equivalent for...I suppose there is [[Spirit Light Weapon]...

Can you post a build you like so we can try to help you adapt it for only Factions? Also...What sort of PvP are you wanting to play?

Here's what would be ideal. Now, just a heads up, this is pretty picky haha, but you asked.

something along the lines of this

What i was trying to do with that was make it a little more ranged in place of the NF skills, but no such luck. So there it tis.

And by pvp, i just mean something in general if there is such a thing. Something that i can work off of, and adjust to the kind of pvp im at.

-Appreciate this.

Perhaps something like either of these:

[build prof=Rt name="GwK Channeler" box chann=12+1+1 rest=12+1 spawn=3+1][Grasping was Kuurong][Spirit Rift][Ancestors' Rage][Essence Strike][Bloodsong][Weapon of Shadow][Soothing Memories][No Skill][/build]
Use [[Splinter Weapon] in the optional slot if playing with physicals or something like [[Weapon of Warding] for more defense otherwise.

[build prof=Rt name="'More Ranged' than the last one" box restoration=12+1 Channeling=12+1+1][Signet of Spirits][Spirit Rift][Ancestors' Rage][Essence Strike][Weapon of Warding][Mend Body and Soul][No Skill][Life][/build]

So like, Alliance Battles then maybe?

I guess those builds could work there.

I'm gonna give both of them a shot, I like the more ranged one though a lot. Thanks. I'll let you know how it goes.

Just something to note:

I've never actually used Signet of Spirits...it could be a real pain since you have to be within earshot of a spirit, and the recharge could be a nuisance too. [[Mantra of Inscriptions] could help with it's recharge but it seems a waste taking that stance purely to recharge one signet faster.

You might be better off taking Glyph of Lesser Energy with Elementalist Secondary and using another elite...maybe something like [[Spirit Light Weapon] or even [[Tranquil was Tanasen] to prevent people d-shotting your Spirit Rift.

[[Gale] could be another good spell to keep people in the rift until it goes off, but be careful about the exhaustion. This is the beauty of Grasping was Kuurong...you can cast Spirit Rift, drop Kuurong to knock down the foes, and use Ancestors' Rage on yourself.

hey, destructive was glaive is a great elite and grasping is nice too.. if you are going to spec in channeling i definetly suggest bringing bloodsong. Its a good idea to bring at least one spirit since alot of rit spell bonuses require a spirit. Warmongers weapon is just too good to leave out of a channeling build, throw it on an attacker in your team and they will tear casters apart. I would focus on supporting your team, this is what rits are best at imo. Buffs like warmonger and ancestors rage to aid the damage and cond remove/weapon of warding or heals to strengthen your teams defense. I wouldnt use spirit rift without a snare tbh.

The build you picked is nice but more designed around heroes ascent if you arent planning on HA'ing then i would switch out splinter for warmonger and drop the snares for mend body and soul and bloodsong. You could keep glyph of lesser energy for some free energy weapon spells.

Hope that helps

So i started with the more ranged build. Works great. I added Glyph of Lesser Energy in the optional, and replaced the Elite Signet of Spirits, and added Wanderlust temporarily. Seems to work ok, but Wanderlust can either work amazingly, or just take up space. I put Vengeful Weapon in for Life, just becuase i don't tend to have much time to react usually, and with 11 points in resto it works nicely. I am going to switch out Wanderlust for Bloodsong uzumaki and see if it works better.

So here's my setup that works quite good.

Skills Points
Communing 7+2
Restoration 8+3
Channeling 12
Spawning 3

Skill Setup (Left to right in bar, going downward)

Wanderlust
Spirit Rift
Ancestors Rage
Essence Strike
Glyph of Lesser Energy
Vengeful Weapon
Weapon of Warding
Mend Body and Soul

Works great

Your attributes seem messed up - have you done all the attribute quests?

Just seems like there aren't as many there as there should be.

Also. Major and Superior runes are usually avoided for PvP.
