Spawning as it affects both weapon and summoning skills.

Many rit builds run with just 3 in spawning, the spare points. It's really not that great of an attribute.
It's probably best for you to have one channeling and one restoration headpiece, because those are the attributes you'll probably have the most points in consistently. If you really want to go with a communing spirit spammer, get a communing headpiece, but I can't see why you would do that.

There is no best or worst...
it completely depends on the build. For a Rit MM spawning is everything but if your gonna heal there almost no point in having anything in spawning.
my rit has 3 headpieces for the 3 builds i like to run most.

Pretty much anything but Communing. Channeling or Resto for a hybrid style build (I would choose Channeling in that situation), Spawning for MM or maybe a Spirit's Strength build, and that pretty much covers it.

Spawning would help with being a MM. My healing rt build uses attuned was songkai, so spawning helps with that too. My rt lord build uses a spawning head piece also. If I go spirit spamming, I go channeling for higher painful bond. My restoration head piece is usually used for solo farm builds like vengeful was khanhei. So the way I see it, communing helps the least.

why not keep one for each attribute your LIKELY to use. It also depends a huge amount on what type of build you have.

As has been said, what attribute to have on your headpiece varies depending upon you build. If you have a couple of builds that have a significant number of points in the same attribute line, you could get a headpiece with that attribute (whether it's the main one or not). I don't know enough about rits, but for example, many Monk builds have 9-12 points in Divine Favor - you could put divine favor on the headpiece and adjust the other attributes accordingly.
Or you could get one of the EotN headpieces and just change Runes.

If you can only get 1 headpiece, I would go with Channeling. Channeling = splinter weapon, which is pretty much the best damage skill in the game. Channeling/Restoration hybrids is an excellent build to run just about anywhere.

Channeling or restoration imo. I always use my channeling set because well...splinter weapon is awesome
Spawning power sucks.No really.
Communing means spirit spammer and spirit spammers should be burned alive

I am surprised how many of you suggested spawning power since it is well the worst primary attribute of them all.
Some mentioned the Minion Bomber build and yeah a spawning power headpiece makes sense for that template but I really can't see any other use for it.
Channeling is by far the headpiece I used the most (PvE & PvP). And Restoration comes second. I ran my hybrid (Chan/Resto) most of the time with higher channeling.
Hope that helps; have fun!

timebandit, spawning power headpiece is also for Spirit's Strength. Anyways, I'd go with either channeling/resto heads for the basic, all-around rit and spawning power for those SS rits who want to kick ass.

The "best" depends what you prefer playing.
If you wanted to invest in only one, go Channeling.
Channeling can be used for Hybrid Builds (given that the elite is a Channeling elite). Restoration is more often than not used to give you some party support abilities, and doesn't lose out too much by not having the additional attributes from a headpiece.
Spawning is only really good is you want to play Spirit's Strength, or Minion Bomber builds, and Communing should be used if you want to Spirit Spam.
