I'm just going to assume 60 + pot armor for simple calculations. Linked from wiki:
Say the initial damage is 50:
70 armor: 42.0 damage
84 armor: 33.0 damage
And for Arky, 160 armor: 8.8 damage (which is 82.5%)
For the record, I'm all for N/Rt heroes getting shafted, but since they're trying to make PvE wtfcakewalk, I don't see why it wasn't split.

I don't mind the 'nerf' to PwK. I think (hope) some dude at Anet sat down and noticed that Rits never bring any other ashes and thought it'd be a good idea to tone down the one that everyone uses, thought being that now we might take a look at other ashes, instead of sticking with the flock of PwK.
I say that knowing it's not true. But one can hope they will slowly buff up other ashes to offer something else to use.
Also, the PvP/PvE split wasn't made so that you get to keep your PvE build while PvP learns to adapt. Should PvE only get buffs from now on and never nerfed? Get unlazy and change it up once in a while, Olias and Livia will thank you for it.

You let me know when you have a good hero build for those.
There's no reason for builds to change, PwK still does the same primary job it's always done, efficient party heal along with endless redbar spam that mindless N/Rt heroes handle well. +10 armor is nothing in the face of HM, minions and prots are your defense anyway.

The sad thing about this nerf is that it decreases your armor from the defensive set.

the nerf did puzzle me
i think its fair to say that in general the other professions have gotten stronger, while rits may well have gone backwards.
id so love tobe able to play my 2 rits and not feel gimped, ineffective and lost.
id really like it if we could have more than 1 of the attacking spirits at the same time, ie 2-3 pains. cos spirits are a joke compaired to minions

Completely agreed. I think my time spent with GW is nearing an end. Anyone know of any other MMOs that have actual unique, creatively conceptualized classes? Or will I forever be doomed with the mundane warriors, mages, etc.?
Oh, how I lament for my sweet DAoC.

maybe someday theyll notice ashes like Vocal was Sogolon still exist in their completely useless form and retool them like they did with the Xinrae skills...(only reason Vocal was Sogolon exists is so Rits would have some cheap gimmick synergy with Paragons, but the skill blows because you cant gain adrenaline while holding ashes.)

PwK was powerful before and even now, it's still strong. The nerf wasn't surprising.

Hard to play as in there's no call for them in the "meta"? If that's the case, I think some players are too caught up in it all. Cut some people some slack if they want to play a certain profession and let them join in on the fun.
This reminds me of last week when some people in our alliance announced a Tombs run. I asked what kind of setup they were running and it turned out to be all assassins, no other professions allowed. . . Yeah, I mean no offense to people who like to play in teams with all assassins or cryway or the like but I sincerely hope this whole way of thinking is completely and utterly ditched, destroyed and vaporized in every way possible. I understand there can be a need for certain professions such as monks cause of their role as primary healers but when the community develops a preference (or in the case of some, a need) to run only a few, select professions over all others, that should scream blue, bloody imbalance to the developers and acted upon immediately.
Heck, even ursanway was better than this cause with the exception of a few nitpickers, most professions were allowed to join groups so as long as they spent some time to work on their characters. Yes, I understand that title grind and the like is the cardinal sin of MMO's but I'd still rather take that as a lesser of two evils. The greater of the two being what we have today, where even if you spent hundreds and hundreds of hours developing the amount of skill you possess in a certain profession, you can still be shot down for "making the wrong choice in profession".
tl;dr: Buildwars sucks, pve meta sucks. Don't allow it in GW2. Kthxbai.

Hrrmn. I'm not sure about having more than one of the same attacking spirit at the same time - I'm not sure I like the idea of having to wait up to a minute before each combat for multiple copies of spirits to recharge before aggroing...
Allowing multiple spirits of the same type from different Ritualists might work, however, so that Ritualists don't antisynergise as much.
One quick fix, though, could be to have Anguished Was Lingwah be counted as a seperate spirit (Suffering?) instead of a Pain spirit, thus giving another option for a 'bread and butter' spirit at the cost of another skill slot.
