I love my rit. I think his point is that many PuGs don't have enough experience with the good ones to see their value. They are very versataile.
Regarding current uses, I would say any place where you have [hundred blades] warriors in the party (that skill was buffed like crazy not long ago), a rit with 16 Channeling ([splinter weapon]) is about the best support character you can put in the group. As such, you can be either a weapon spell spammer or a barrager or healer or whatever.
Regarding [Cry of Pain], any profession can be a cryer. It's not based on an attribute... just need Mesmer secondary. In DoA, my peeps take any cryers to fill spots, as long as their Lightbringer rank is reasonable.
In your Urgoz build, you mistakenly used [ebon battle standard of honor] instead of [ebon battle standard of wisdom]. By the way, Wisdom is my favorite ward in the game. My monk uses it to sometimes double his number of [Ray of Judgment]s in UW and FoW runs.
