The Spirit Spammer [Post Update]
After I saw it, I thought it was amazing, boy was I wrong. It's SUPER Amazing, but use it right.
Spirit Spammer [Post Update]
1) It's minions without Corpses
2) Great Body Blocking
3) Quick Recharges and casting times means easy summoning
4) Spirits don't use energy so Siphon away
5) What do you think of the build?

I think it's ok, but it's going to be one hell of a fight trying to interrupt them in PvE. It may be better for Z-Elite, but it's still going to suck fighting the Spirit Spammers

The problem with the spirit wall is that spirits are too precious to be used as a wall.
With a minion wall, you waste one skill slot on it. If the wall falls, you still have the remaining 6ish skills to fall back on.
To achieve a spirit wall, you need to waste pretty much your whole bar on it. So if the wall falls - you are useless.
The simple fact that you don't need a corpse to raise hell does not negate this core issue.

Hmm with 2 rit heros, an MM, and a human MM/Spirit Spamx2 the hilarity would ensue as you carry around a literal army, throw in a summon and sin support on MMs and the sheer number of NPC allies is unimaginable.

Still, the rc of the spirits didn't get shortened and their level got increased(so if you were able to summon a level 13 spirit at 13 attribute, now you are only about to cast a level 12 or less spirit at with the same attribute) so if there is one MB ele concentrating on attacking your spirits, they can die easily, and unless you got a few attacking/healing spells on your bar, you're down for the next 30 seconds or so.

Armor of Unfeeling solves the issue, 50% damage reduction, immunity to crits, and you have summon to pull them back if needed. I don't like that he has way too many summon skills, fewer stronger turrets with support is better than a bar full of them, unsupported. SoS with Bloodsong should be enough to create a body block situation, backed by Armor of Unfeeling and Summon Spirits to prop them up, throw in Boon of Creation or Siphon to get energy, then add in a weapon and maybe Spirit Rift or another boom, then utility like a res or if you're cocky some more damage.

You don't need any spirits other than Signet of Spirits. Of course you do have to figure out what the hell to do with all those communing points.

Interesting! With the new buffs I'm going to dust off my Rit and have a lil fun. The wall has limited uses but a combo of some utility with a smaller wall also has ..more (?) uses. Gonna experiment a bit.

I know you're being sarcastic but I'll respond just because I'm happy that what you say is wrong. As OP pointed out energy is not an issue, plus the necro heroes with only make an inferior wall.
As for the build, as it is I'd rather not use all my skill slots for one tactic. Doesn't seem like a lot of fun that way (I've played rit for a long time, which means I play for fun). I'll definitely try it though.
And this update has made me come out of lurking.

I'm going with:
Painful Bond
Bloodsong
Vampirism
Pain
Spirit Siphon
Signet of Spirits [E]
Armour of Unfeeling
Summon Spirits
So far it's rolling through HM with relative ease, the main challenge is placing spirits and timing skills correctly. It's a fun playstyle.
EDIT: Replaced Boon of Creation with Spirit Siphon.

I've been toying around with this and the armour/hp boost is much better than I expected. Even without AoU. These guys can actually tank now. Still, if these guys are tanking - you don't move them. The point of the wall is to get in the way. If they are taking damage - you are not.
What I am seeing though is a different issue. Minions not only offer you a wall, they also trigger stuff like Barbs and MoP. And contrary to Painful Bond - other party members can also abuse this damage bonus.
So I ended up running this:
But with some 18 minions running around, triggering Barbs - spirit spam as a wall is only second best.
Still, you were right, it's much better than I initially thought.
