I really want to solo UW with my rit. I was thinking of using these skills:
Signet Of Spirits, Pain, Bloodsong, Dissonance, Armor of unfeeling, Painful Bond, Splinter weapon, Spirit Light.
Please Post your opinions of this build
Cheers, Dawn.

Bring Vampirism instead of splinter and summon spirits instead of spirit light. If you do it right you won't need to heal yourself at all, your spirits will be taking damage for you, and the skeletons don't do much damage with their flurry skill (vampirism and natural regen is really all the healing you need). Killing the dryders in the chamber, you'll probably take a hit or two, but you should survive it easily.

I use SoS, Bloodsong, Vampirism, Pain, and Shadowsong. Then bring Armor of Unfeeling and Spirit Leech Aura. Cast up spirits, then armor and Spirit Leech. Then pull with Painful Bond.
Works fine for me everytime. Just make sure you cast SoS 2nd to last, and then Shadowsong last since they have the shortest duration, and try to build a wall with your spirits as well to keep enemies from passing. Then place Shadowsong behind the wall since he'll help with blinding the enemies.

I use SoS, Pain, Vampirism, bloodsong, Shadowsong, Armor of unfeeling, Summon spirits, Painful bond. This is very effective, if done right there are no deaths/no need for healing.

you can kill the smites but you need to constantly be replacing your spirits. and don't use painful bond on the smites.
for the smites:
set up your wall and then agro them with your wand. run behind your spirits and continue to walk backwards to spread them out. once each spirit goes down cast it again. The smites can take your spirits down quite fast so hopefully they are all attacking the same spirit or it will heal itself faster then you can damage it. (reversal of fortune). you may also not want to put up shadowsong as the blind will cause them to use mend condition which heals them. Its a slow process and not always worth it.
head to the chaos plains where the ecto drops are better

Someone recommended taking Disenchantment along for the Smites, but I've never tried that. I'm not sure of the order of effects for Disenchantment hitting a target enchanted with Reversal of Fortune, and I've not tried killing Smites with spirits since the RoF buff. Killing Smites with spirits should work like Pale-Dim said, as that's exactly how I took them down. Groups of 5 are a pain.
I found it useful to spread spirits apart in a semicircle or circular pattern rather than bunched together in a wall. The Smites would run to and fro in between the spirits and you, and spreading them out reduced their damage from Zealot's Fire.

i find smites to also be tough.
i found a SoS UW solo vid on youtube and the guy running the vid showed a technique that he called something like "back it up" where you summon your spirits in a line taking a few steps back each time to get them out of the line of fire from zealots fire. it works well for small groups as they are constantly getting pelted from spirit fire as they all seem to agro to the first spirit in line. if there is 5+ they mow through them quickly though. ive noticed that its best to set up your spirits first then cast armor then spirit leech aura then pull them. im not sure how the mechanics of armor and spirit leech aura work but if you summon spirits after you cast AoU and SLA it seems like they are not effected by it. (i just started running this build to solo the UW so im pretty noob with it. dunno it 100% yet so some clarification on this would be helpful)
i also agree that, although smites are very popular to farm, the SoS rit isnt the best to do it with. head to the chaos plains. more aatax's along that way and they drop ectos alot.

I see many people suggesting Chaos Plains but I don't really know how to get passed the Behemoths, there is one group at the top that prevents me from advancing. Do I need a cupcake or something to get there?

I haven't had a problem with any Behemoths. What exactly is your problem? I just spirit spam them and wait for the traps to spring.

Well, I might be underestimating the Spirit's range, but the behemoth on the third level gets free shots at me while I place spirits. I use superior runes so I can't last that many hits. I can get the first 6 (atleast I think its 6) but when you have to travel up the winding road I always die. I've tried youtubing it but couldn't find a video.
My bar is:
Pain-Bloodsong-Vampirism-Signet of Spirits-Shadowsong-Painful Bond-Armor of Unfeeling-Spirit Leech Aura.
Attributes:
Communing-8+1+3
Restoration-10
Channeling-10+3
Spawning- 8+1
Maybe I built myself wrong, or maybe the process of which I eliminate Behemoths is wrong, but either way I'm stuck.

Try equipping a melee weapon, and then Behemoths will attack less often. Pick up an energy +5 sword or axe of shelter and a shield with +10 piercing for an extra 25 armor. You can also try using terrain to obstruct them, and you can dodge them as well.
Spirits attack at longbow range. You may try bringing Summon Spirits instead of Painful Bond or Spirit Leech Aura. Then you can place your spirits out of range and teleport them to attack.
I think I know what group you mean. They have height advantage on you that extends their range while limiting the range of your spirits. Your spirits will have to be closer than normal because of elevation if they are placed downhill from the Behemoths.

I recently made a video for Rit UW farm, you can watch it here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHs5f_nsyTk
Kills everything except smites - could be but takes too much time -.
Timing and luring is important. Don't take risks, know when to retreat.

Im sure SLA is not needed, but it helps I guess. As for behemoths, get behind a hill or something, lay down spirits, then run out, summon spirits into there range. go back, hide.
