Max Sunspear Rank and Journeying to Tyria
The past few weeks have been kind to me. Got max Sunspear Rank one weekend, a Celestial Rat the next, and spent the odd hour here and there re-acquainting myself to Tyria all over again. From as far away as Ascalon City. Because I WANTED to. And well, a good friend or two with Ursan-way can REALLY make an annoying mission like Tahnnakai Temple or Arborstone go by a lot faster. Did Tanny in 16 minutes, which was great. ALMOST wrecked Arborstone, but Danika got stuck and died. XP
Updated the OP1 and 2 to reflect these personal updates, as well as changing a few titles to include Prophesies. More as I progress.
(And for those of you who say that Rits have no place in Prophesies, you can spot a few Necros dressed up like Rits in the later areas and missions. We show them how it is done. XD)

Added gwBBCode!
I have added gwBBCode to the Opening Posts! Let me know how you like it, and whether you want me to change it back. If you're getting "?" from hovering over it, you just need to wait a few seconds for your browser to finish DLing the data. When saving build templates, they won't show up until you shut down GW, put the text files in the appropriate folder, and boot it up again.
I think it looks pretty. XD

This build inspired me to try a Rit. It was interesting so far, though I got distracted with something else (easy to do).
Wouldn't a +20% Enchanting staff be useful to increase the length of enchantments? You're getting 6-12 seconds out of it depending on the enchantment, seems worthwhile.

At 12 Spawning Power, the Boon of Creation and Explosive Growth Enchantments last 51 seconds, which is longer than any one Enchantment's recharge plus Boon's, EG's, and SG's casting times. (51 > 45+2+2+1) That's why, under Suggested Equipment, I don't ask that someone get an Enchanting Mod for their Staff in a second Weapon Slot until Elite or Optional Equipment. You don't REALLY need it, but it is handy.

He drops Death Nova on all minions, including those of other allies in a mission, like in Vizunah Square.

A fact you will often be grateful for in Nightfall, as Gehraz the Dervish LOVES getting Death Nova, since his [Signet of Pious Light] just gobbles it up. And if he Does It Wrong, well... he IS in explosion range...

No, "insulting" would be if you were Death Nova-ed, died, didn't take anyone out with you in the explosion, and then someone Animated from your corpse before you were rezzed. THAT would just SUCK. XDDD
Hasn't happened to me yet, but MAN, I'm almost looking forward to it, just so I can put it on YouTube or lolcats or something.

Having someone make a minion out of you is just hilarious.

It's okay, had razah running this ages back in NF. Not the same as a real N/X MM though. And a 16 death necro's minions hurt as well as make dnova damage.

Yeah, this is also a Hero Build, as long as you're willing to work with Artificial Stupidity.
Speaking of Hero AI = Fail, the Norn Tourny Communing Rit build works GREAT against the Doppleganger. Just put Painful Bond on it, drop Wanderlust, then a bunch of other spirits, Gaze of Fury if you need it, and boom, less than 30 seconds later, Doppleganger is down. XDDD

I had success with an RT/N bomber Hero running this in Shards of Orr (mostly because I didn't have a second N to run an MM, and I wanted a N/RT healer.
Worked quite well. Swaped out Putred Bile for Death Nova, and threw in Blood of the Master.

Glad to hear this worked well as a Hero build! Giving a Hero Death Nova to play with instead of yourself is always a good idea.
Speaking of skills you can play with, Feast of the Dead and Dwayna's Sorrow got AI tweaks, so here's two more Hero bars for MoW to play with:
In this build, Necro-mains show Rits how it's done, with a massive 3 Enchants per minion, Dark Bond and SoLS to keep the Necro up and running, BotM to keep minions alive in between battles, and Putrid Bile just for fun. Recommended for caster-heavy parties.
[Necro Minion Bomber;OANEQSxm2IVFsUhGY0oIgHoAWVB]
In this build, MoW holds onto his Fiends with Feast for the Dead for in battle, and BotM for emergency situations and out of battle. In case the degen or the damage gets too much, Dwayna's Sorrow is there to keep the party alive while Nova, IV, and SoS punishes the enemy for their impudence. SoLS, natch. Recommended for melee-heavy parties.

Goofing around in AB with the guildies, and this variation worked out pretty well. Due to 4-4-4 groups, Deathly Swarm is VERY worth it. It's only weakness are Ele spikes and other overwhelming DPS. Still trying to figure out whether or not Nova is worth the annoyance. Assuming you run around with a Ranger, SF Nuker, or someone else to spread Conditions, that should take care of Discord's prerequisite, and Condition/Hex removal is laid on the Monk.

You spent a great deal of time on this guide, so I believe a bump is in order.
I made a new Rit last night for the sole purpose of running this build. I'm still at Shing Jea, but so far, it's been nothing but fun. One gets tired of running the same ol' Channeling/Resto hybrid; I can't wait to get to Kamadan.
