I can admit that i am a noob when it comes to this game. i bought it the other day and i had no idea what to do. i've learned what to do now but i don't know if my build is good enough. i thought that a ranger that could heal themselves would be cool. please give me some templates that would be good.

and also the ranger quest where you have to find the animal and charm it. where do you find the animal and the guy?

Do some looking around, there are plenty of builds out there. Check www.pvxwiki.com that is what every other nub does.

Your in Pre so your low level, one thing to remember is that you do not have alot of Attribute points yet so try to stick to your Ranger Primaries for now,

Marksmanship
Expertise
Wilderness Survival

IF you really want to add monk skills, drop your Wilderness atts, but remember that monk skills are going to cost you more energy than Ranger ones.

[skill]Troll Unguent[/skill]

Find that skill as soon as you can and load it up.

As far as the Pet Quest, press "L" be sure that you have that quest chosen and then follow the green arrow on your compass map, that will lead you to where you need to go on any quest.

Also check out the stickied Ranger guides on this Forum, vist The Rangers Beacon 2, and use Guild Wiki for info on skills and quests.

Well as your low level you want to focus your attribute points on Ranger skills only at the moment. Then once you have gained a few levels and have a few spare you could invest in monk attributes.

But first thing to learn is that like Orange Milk said, [skill]Troll Unguent[/skill] is your friend in the starter areas and you'll come to rely on it heavily as you progress.

Once you become familiar with playing a ranger then i suggest you go check out the various threads and stickies in these forums concerning rangers. At the moment your probably not going to have enough attribute points to make any use of the builds posted on these forums. But be patient, gain some levels and then you will be

as soon as you are able to unlock distracting shot, it should basicaly never leave your bar.

hm : faster cast time just try to catch a 1/8 woh =)

so true, every build i use that has a bow has DS in it, rangers best skill imo

i generally find enough skill sot interput to bring d shot. i enjoy eles never casting anything, and a well timed dshot can take any skill. pve monsters generally have use their heals in a pattern, at least thats what i have noticed. and in hm you right, but i still bring it.

For a Bow Ranger....

[skill]natural stride[/skill][skill]distracting shot[/skill][skill]savage shot[/skill][skill]crippling shot[/skill][skill]mending touch[/skill][skill]troll unguent[/skill][skill]apply poison[/skill][skill]resurrection signet[/skill]

Elite slots can be filled with: [skill]broad head arrow[/skill], [skill]burning arrow[/skill]. Possible to drop Savage shot for [skill]magebane shot[/skill] or [skill]punishing shot[/skill] (You can drop Distracting shot instead of Savage, but I don't recommend it). If you have none of these, [skill]barrage[/skill] will have to do.

Other bow skills that are useful are: [skill]sloth hunter's shot[/skill], [skill]screaming shot[/skill], [skill]pin down[/skill]

[skill]lightning reflexes[/skill] can be considered but is probably not as useful as Natural Stride. Don't use Whirling Defense because it's just terrible.

There are many other builds, just spend time fiddling around.
