Default Added damage through "GtfE!" @ 12 command

I calculated the average damage "Go for the Eyes!" @ 12 command adds to next weapon hit for all weapons at 16 attribute(daggers also 13 critical strikes).

Yup, that's why I run a Command-based Paragon, not a Motivation one.

i have my ranger running barrage and they have GFTE as well they only have a 51% chance to critical but if you figure the ranger spams this every 3 seconds it's rather nice.

nerf fodder

"Go for the Eyes" charges extremely quick with a Barrage Ranger. I use this skill on both the R/P and my P/W. The ranger can charge it up more quickly then the paragorn but at slightly over 50% chance to crit and a group of heros with multiple attacks they tend to make quite the rat pack The Paragorn usually runs Koss with hundred Blades, Jin as a Barrage ranger, and sometimes Margrid as a barrage ranger as well. Myself I think it's one of the most useful support skills a team can get from a paragorn.

I think the added damage for axes or hammers is wrong in your tabel
because I find it hard to believe they have about the same added damage while the hammer has an higher max damage....

Library of alexandria already had a Gtfe build. 2 paragons, one of them had Focused anger so it charged GtfE every 2 hits, other paragon was motivation. Also had 1 dervish and 2 warriors/D with scythes to maximize benefit. Also both paragons benefit too. They had problems against teams with lots of Blinding surge, also things like wards and aegis messed them up.

One thing has to be said. If you have 2 paragons, have the motivation one be P/W but the GtfE spammer should be P/Me, GtfE gives a lot of energy -> Mirror of Disenchantment takes care of aegis.

I thought that a critical hit was always the max weapon damage multiplied by √2 (approx 0.95).

Weapons with a big damage range but high max dmg (eg scythe, hammer, axe) will benefit the most from this as your results show.

I have been running GfTE on my paragon from the start, and I did mention in a post in here before Nightfall was actually released about using this in ToPK barrage/pet runs. Read here: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10051596

Putting this on a ranger to quickly build adrenaline was good thinking. I did think about rangers running this but threw away the idea as they usually take supporting spirits in ToPK.

I think my ranger heroes have found a new secondary profession now

Yep, I run an "Incoming!" and "Go for the eyes!" 16 command build on my Paragon, works wonders. =)

Being able to hit critical so often is nice...

I am not sure how accurate the OP's numbers are, but here is a few numbers i came up with::

Dervish @ 16 Scythe
9-41dmg, 15^50, +20%dmg

Physical dmg VS. 60AL target.

AVERAGE hit dmg (taken over a 10 hit calculation):: 45 dmg
AVERAGE critical hit dmg (Taken off 10 hit calcution, used Wild Blow):: 96.2 dmg

51.2 dmg difference/increase.

Basically, it seems that the critical hits vary and are taken from the lowest dmg from your weapon and the highest. In order to get consistent/constant critical numbers for my scythe i used:
[skill]Wild Blow[/skill].
After 10 hits using this skill i got two numbers of 92 and 113. 92 occured 8 times out of 10... and 113, 2 times out of 10. Average shown above.

It seems with more consistent variables like this, i got even HIGHER numbers then the OP did. Hmmm, GFTE mixed with Primal Rage [e] might be fun, not necessary, but fun mebe?

lol cheers!

Axe benefits so much because its low-end is so weak.

Also, those numbers appear to be for custommized weps without inherent bonuses. Doesn't change the overall gain from GftE much, but the damage is higher in practice.

And yes, GftE is massive in almost every sense, especially when combined with Refrains and such. But I don't get the nerfbat reflex. So Paragons increase party damage on the one hand, but also defense on the other. Sounds like a good addition to the game.

yeah, I run a command/moti paragon, with both Jin and Magrid going Barrage, with GftE, and Anthem of Fury, just because I could. It really is ridiculous, especially at the beginning of the game, when the Kournan Bowman use Infuriating Heat all the time. Running 3 GftE with a minion master is just crazy.

It looks like you were using a 20/20 sundering scythe.

The averages shown in the first post are crit-adjusted averages. You take the average weapon damage, then adjust it up based on the crit rate and crit damage.

For example, average 12Axe damage before taking critical hits into account is around 23 (for customized, +15% axe). But because you crit approx 17% of the time at 12Axe, that means 17% of the 6's, and 7's, etc. you would have rolled result instead in a 53 or so point crit. So to adjust the avg damage, you have to add 17% of the difference between it and a critical hit.

That's why GftE results in the dramatic increase shown in that table. When the crit rate is raised to 90% (as with 16Axe + 12Com), the 'average' becomes around 95% of the damage caused by a crit.
