I have currently been trying out my Paragon and Lion as a support class (More of a Go for the eyes! spammer.)

I use the following build for campaigning so far with little problems;

Call of Haste Shout
Hekets Rampage Stance
Comfort Animal
Charm Animal
Go for the Eyes Shout
Stand you Ground, Disrupting lunge
Focused Anger
Leaders Comfort

Spear mastery 9

Leadership 8 ((You gain 1 Energy for each ally affected by one of your Shouts or Chants (Maximum 1 Energy for every 2 ranks). The count of allies includes the caster.)) So at this level I should get 4

Balance of points in Beast mastery

I noticed the other day that when I use Call of Haste I only get a +1 energy return. Correct me if I am wrong but should it not be 4? Could this be a bug?

Could someone else test this out for a second opinion?

your energy bonus only triggers when an ally is affected... only your pet is affected...

But pets are considered an ally? At least wiki states it that way. I also do notice a +1 energy when I use the skill. (I do not have a zealous weapon)

because your pet is the only ally that is affected you only get 1 energy back (1e for each ally affected)

..im not sure why it has "companions" plural because you can only have one.. :S

I had my answer the whole time thanks for pointing it out for me. I will check the Call of Haste to see if the skill works for my Hero rangers pet as well as my own. If it works for both pets it should be easy to spot the 2 energy.

Call of Haste, Call of Protection, and other skills that affect only your pet will return 1e.

Otyugh's Cry, on the other hand, will give you back as much energy as the pets that are present.

yes pets, minions, non party allies are all effected by gfte

I was intriuged by your build so I kinda looked it over and was postulating some changes. In the end I started picking almost the same exact skill set you picked. The only changes I would make are:

Change call of haste out for find thier weakness to add deep wound and still get same meager energy gain (you can cast this on you or your pet). I would change Stand Your Ground/Disrupting lunge then for scavengers strike. Pets run around a lot and don't get a lot out of stand your ground like someone who could actually recognize the shout was on them. Pets don't disrupt very well as they seem to attack when ever they please. if you combine the Find thier Weakness (deep wound) with Scavengers (lot of damage bonus for someone suffering condition) you could do major damage. Combo that with GFTE and that is some solid stuff. Although, the populous at large will probably start posting how SF eles are better, I just get sick of playing the same stuff over and over.

Anyway, I would also suggest making your beast mastery maxed and re adjusting runes and stuff to make this work. Why? your beast mastery skills get better AND more importantly, when your pet dies, it robs you of all your adrenaline. When you get to the upper levels, you will need this or you will never be able to get GFTE off and thus destroying the deep wound and subsequent effects.

Brutal Strike and Feral Lunge = win
poison bite is nice too, if the recipient will live long enuff.

brutal strike will hit for 100+ with resonable beastmastery and a dire pet
