I deleted my warrior once she finished Prophecies, and regretted it afterwards.
Mostly because she was my oldest char and I missed out on the first wave of minipets... >.>

I always keep thinking about deleting my paragon, the stupid run they do and the view from the back.
But what keeps him is that I do /dance and that just saves him

Lol is this a stupid question? Of course delete you're paragon lol. Who cares if you have a 15k armor for you're paragon, who cares if you have survivor in you're paragon, who cares you used him for extra storage store, just delete it. Thats what I did. So yes go delete it! Dont hesitate.

Why bother?
Buy more character slots.
I've been fairly poor myself from time to time, but its never been a problem to spare £6 for an extra character.
I presently have 11 character slots... 1 for every class except Ranger... which I have two of.... Its not that I like using Rangers; I think they look daft... so I use them as storage (yes, I have two storage-rangers).
Sooner or later, once I've actually done well with all character classes, I might get more slots to try different genders, different campaign beginnings.... etc.
But to delete?
Only time I ever deleted a character, he was at level 7 and I didn't like the name I'd given him. I remade him to rename him... and regretted that too since the colour system had just changed and "orange" had become more skanky yellowish.

If you don't like your Paragon, delete it now! Looking at professions you have, I will never delete: Ranger, Monk and Elementalist.; Core professions are perfect.

Wow! The /dancenew was the only reason I deleted my Paragon. I created a female Paragon and she doesn't look that bad doing the dance. The male paragon just didn't look right doing that dance.
Don't bother deleting your paragon, unless you just started it. If you have a lvl 20 paragon, don't delete, I mean you may need the skills unlocked, you wasted so much money on equipment, and all that time spent on doing quests. Don't delete a character just because its no long fun, it may become fun at a later time.
If you don't know what to create next, you may just end up deleting that character too. As stated before, buy a new character slot and think about what you wish to play next.

Some people, specially ones outside USA doesn't have that "consumerism" mind and/or doesn't have a credit card.
About money in-game (gold) doesn't really matter when you know a character can make enough gold by itself for buy max armor and skills just playing game. You don't lose too much deleting a PvE character, at least is +1 year old with all elites captured, obsidian armor, hard to get tittles, etc.
Offtopic: Why is Obsidian Armor and not Ecto Armor? ^_^

I love my Mesmer too but if your after a more rounded character you can't fail with a necro.

The /age of your account wont be affected, but you wont get a mini pet if that character doesnt make it to its 1 year birthday

To the OP.
At the end of the day, it's all up to you. Delete or not to, if you don't enjoy playing that Paragon anymore then go ahead and do it.

You may want to hold off untill chapter 4 when new skills come out for them as for now just park it up in garage and use it for storage.
