Fire Starter Support Paragon Guide
Fire Starter Support Paragon Guide
Hey everyone,
Wish to keep foes on fire, while dishing out lots of DPS and reducing the damage done to your whole party? Well here is a build that is really fun to play and quite effective. Haven’t seen this build around, so I decided to post it. Maybe its noob, but ooh well....
This is my first try at a guide, and I’m fairly new to the paragon and to GW, but as soon as I tried the character I was sure that it’s the right one for me. Since the paragon has a main role of being a support character I focused on what he does best.
If you have anything to add or if I made a mistake, please let me know. Thanks

Gear
I use a full Elonian since I think it looks best, but armor with max stats (80 A) can be used.
Armour:
Exalted Crest (+1 Leadership): Centurion's Insignia, Major Leadership Rune
Raiment: Survivor Insignia, Superior Vigor Rune
Armguards: Centurion's Insignia, Minor Command Rune
Leggings: Centurion's Insignia, Minor Vitae Rune
Sandals: Centurion's Insignia, Minor Vitae Rune
Weapon:
Any decent spear can be used, I use this one, but other green shields that are good in my opinion: The Darksong, Courage of the Forgotten, Mallyx's Strife and Shrieking Spear.
Luluh’s Spear – Fire Damage 14-27 (requires 9 Spear Mastery)
Damage+15% (while Health is above 50%)
Health +30
Shield:
Shagu’s Anthem or Mallyx's Supremacy
Armor: 16 (req. 9 Command)
Received Physical Damage -5 (20% chance)
Health +30
Total: + 95 Health
Attribute Point Distribution
The distributed attribute points are listed as (#)
Leadership: (11) +1 +2 = 14
Command: (10) +1 = 11
Spear Mastery: (10) +1 = 11
Total unused points: 1
Here I focused on getting as much attribute points used up as possible. The other points from runes can be set up as you wish, in my opinion this distribution fits the skill set chosen the best. If you modify the skills you can change the attributes, but be aware that going into more skill branches might thin your skill effectiveness.

Skills
My updated set up:
[card]"Go for the Eyes!"[/card] [skill]Barbed Spear[/skill] [skill]"They're On Fire!"[/skill] [skill]"There's Nothing to Fear!"[/skill] [skill]Blazing Finale[/skill] [skill]Focused Anger[/skill] [skill]Aggressive Refrain[/skill] [skill]Signet of Return[/skill]
-Not yet tested how much damage reduction is obtained from this, but should be about 61% damage reduction with (14) Leadership and (7) Sunspear Rank.
Note: I have found that there is no point to have a healing spell since TNTF heals when it ends, and para don't stand in the front line that often, so it should be good.
Here are the skills that made up this build, you can try other combinations, the main strategy skills fulfill the this build, giving you 3 more skills to choose if you aren’t satisfied with my set up.
Main Strategy Skills
- Go for the Eyes
- There's Nothing to Fear
- Blazing Finale
- Focused Anger
- Aggressive Refrain
Attack Skills to Choose from
- Barbed Spear – for adding another condition
- Blazing Spear – for adding more fire
- Disrupting Throw – to help with an interrupt, (try to attack the same person you used barbed spear on, or time it for when they are on fire)
- Spear of Lightning – good damage with no need for adrenaline
- Merciless Spear – to add deep wound
- Wild Throw – to get rid of annoying stances and it can’t be interupted
To help out- They're On Fire
- Signet of Return
- Leader’s Comfort
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Strategy
Before approaching a mod cast aggressive refrain and go for attacks, as soon as you get adrenaline fire up GFTE (Go for the eyes), this will gain you more energy so that you can add focused anger. Keep casting GFTE whenever there is enough adrenaline. So now your energy is skyrocketing and cast Blazing Finale on the melee character or player (I usually cast it on Koss but, you can cast it on every melee character when u gets more energy from GFTE). Since you’re casting GFTE every other attack this will cause constant burning on the enemies triggered from Blazing Finale. Also on top of this you cast TNTF(There's nothing to fear) or TOF (They’re on fire) reducing the damage to your whole party. And in between this you can toss a few spears. Remember!!!, Blazing Finale needs to be re-casted every 30 seconds, to be effective you must recast it to keep the fire on.
Blazing Finale – Only cast this on characters that are melee, caster wont get much of an effect from this. To get the effect of this you must cast GFTE, since when shouts end this skill will set everyone around on fire.
Focused Anger - The main point in focused anger is to give you more adrenaline so you can activate GFTE after every other attack and gain energy very quickly.
There's Nothing to Fear - Reduced Damage from Everyone, and heals at the end. What else could anyone want?
They’re on Fire – Make sure you recast this often, its really good, and helps a lot since the enemies are on fire most of the time.
Aggressive Refrain – Increases the attack speed and give you more hits per second, giving you even more adrenaline. This skill you only need to cast once, GFTE will keep it up for ever (well until you stop casting it).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Party
I usually play with 8 characters in a party, but it really depends on how hard the area you are going out to.
My usual party-Me
-Dunkoro (Healing)
-Tahlkora (Protection or Healing)
-Koss
-Fighter Henchmen
-Healing Henchmen
-Healing Henchmen
-Fire Henchmen
It might seem like there are too many healers and not alot of damage, but I find that as long as your party is alive the paragon can do his/her job, without anyone, its quite hard to do much with the above build other then run away. And don't worry, This group can skill quite a bunch
Now go on and play with fire!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have tips on how to make it looks all nice with the skills shown and flash up when you put your mouse over them I would be very interested. Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion, I noticed that with the new TNTF skill the damage to the party is greatly reduced. Even with my low Sunspear rank, I can put out 61% damaged reduced against foes on fire, and 28% against all foes. Taking less then half damage might help alot in high end parts of the game.
