New Paragon, Some help please?
Hey, I've just recently made a paragon, I've made a few before but got frustrated and deleted them. I just can't seem to make sense of them, but I really want to keep this one for a change so I was hoping to get some shared expertise from everyone. If you could share good PvE builds with me or some tips that you find helpful when playing a paragon that would be great. My paragon is a P/R and right now I just have her with apply poision and some spear attacks that cause bleeding and stuff :/ I know they're not suppose to be damage but I can't seem to find a decent build otherwise >.<
Thank you SO much for any help you can give!

This is a great place to go for a new paragon player to learn the basics of the class.. but unfortunately:

You might want to actually learn what a paragon is best at first

No, they're not.
Paragons are good at damage.
The spear deals as much damage as a warrior, except at range with a permanent attack speed buff.

Having the same DPS as a warrior from range is hardly bad.
This has been said before and I will say it once again: A fully defensive build on a Paragon makes no sense. Yes you want to have defensive skills but it makes no sense to not take advantage of the Paragon's damage output.

When a bunch of players that have no idea how to truly play a class start giving you advice, this is usually what you end up with.
There are only maybe about 1% of people that you should actually take advice from that post consistently on guru. Ignore the rest as they pretty much don't know shit.
on topic:
Try this build out.
14 spear (helm + minor although you can get away with runnign a major here)
10 leadership (9+ minor rune)
9 command (8+minor)
rest into tactics
Spear of Fury, Spear of Lightning, Cruel Spear, Go for the eyes, Anthen of flame, Agressive refrain, (many things can go here but I usually run Sheilds up, Watch Yourself, or Save Yourselves), Theres Nothing to fear.
Youll be amazed at just how much damage you'll do while buffing your entire party both offensively and defensively.

you'll quickly learn who makes sense and who doesn't by reading what they write. If it raises a question or makes you ask why you would do that, its probably wrong.

The build I run is this:
Go For The Eyes! (For Energy management or giving minions a little boost to their damage)
Anthem of Flame (Fire damage sometimes helps, and I like to see people burning)
Spear of Lightning (In my opinion, a great damage attack)
Mighty Throw (The skill I use least, it simply takes to long for the character to actually throw the spear)
Cruel Spear (Elite, does great damage and causes deep wound.)
Frenzy (Some may debate me here, but I feel that Frenzy is great for quick adreneline and boosts to damage. As long as you have a competant monk, you should be fine)
There's Nothing to Fear! (This is the anchor of my build. I have max SS title, so I get 35% damage reduction. I can scream it as soon as the battle starts, and it will keep the entire party protected for a long enough time to do a sizable amount of damage to the creatures.)
Save Yourselves! (This skill has obvious use. If someone is getting really raped, just yell this for instant massive damage reduction. If you have a high Luxon/Kurzick title rank, then you can preety much maintain this indefinatly with Focused Anger while in battles. Unfortunatly, I do not.
This build, while basic, has been through Prophecies, Factions, and NF, and is currently working it way through Vanquishing. It has worked very well for me, as long as you have a good team. And by a good team, I mean heroes and henchmen. Bring the SABway necro build, along with 2 monks, and whatever else you decide to fill the rest.
Good luck, any questions PM me here or in game (IGN=Angelic Ownage)

Just think of a paragon as a warrior with a range attack and a dorkier outfit.
The basic build outline is pretty much the same:
Couple Attacks
Some Defensive/Offensive stuff
Something to help Adrenaline
IAS
Rez (although not really needed if your defensive shouts are SY and TNtF).
I would pretty much go through the entire "Paragon Boot Camp" thread Yichi posted-has a ton of great info. Also, look at some of the advice given by Racthoh-he's known as the king paragon in these parts (pause for western music and tumbleweed). You may have to go through a couple threads, but once you know what you're doing, it gets simpler after that.

the first (3) paragons I created died in a fire before the typical 'Imbagon' build came out. After that I forced myself to drag her to level 20, when I noticed something.
Paragons suck HORRIBLY at any sort of party support until they are at level 20 with a decent attribute allignment. Paragons to as much if not more damage then warriors with only two attack skills from range, while pretty much making your team diamond-plated, or stone cold killing machines. Or both. Paragons excell at fully offensive too, but in PvE, if you can make your entire team -that- bulked up why run anything else?
Personally, I save fully offensive spear to my Warrior

Your warrior runs an offensive bar with a spear?

Degen is a pretty bad way of making stuff die in PvE. At least it has 14 spear and There's Nothing To Fear! though.
I'd stick with that. I don't like that version in particular but it has Save Yourselves! with Focused Anger so you know it's going to make PvE easy(ier). If you haven't done the grind for Save Yourselves! I'd go with what Yichi suggested.
