If you want a class where you only have a couple builds to choose from, go paragon.

If only they'd make the class a bit more flexible, I'd play mine. That and change the female dance. Absolutely horrifying. >_>

1# Should be; most boring class to play no matter the skillset, besides a bonder.

It's hard for the paragon to compete with warrior in dps due to the strength attribute imo , but being ranged is a good advantage.

No paragons can get pretty close to the damage of a warrior and partly because it is ranged.

ok guys... there probably isnt a greater para fanatic than me so i just want to say that its true paragons have been nerfed big time and have come to be almost useless and unwanted... BUT... when in a para team.. get ready to fight hell itself... i play mostly HA and just to see how an 8 man paragon team can stomp over any given build is enough to prove that they are the godmode of this game(when together)

You are ALWAYS in a team, except for when you farm solo.
That should be an advantage to everyone, not just a ''Oh yay, we are ranged warriors who can use /godmode everywhere'' Thing.

All in all, I don't dislike para's, aslong as they don't run lame builds that ruin the fun :P

It IS true.
Paragon's, although with all the nerfs are still imbalanced, and you'll be extremely stupid to say otherwise.

A lot of people on GWGuru seem to have a dislike for Paragon's because their "imbalanced" however i still don't agree with the general opinion that they should be nerfed.

I think a lot of people forget that the whole point of a Paragon is to provide immense party support in a defensive manner while still being able to deal out high DPS which is also another way they support the party. Nerf their defensive skills and they'll just be warriors chucking spears. Nerf their DPS and they'll just be like an Ele/Mo but without the huge energy pool.

Not to mention that GW needs another option for high end PvE other than Ursan. An 8 man Imbagon group can be just as effective as an 8 man Ursan group and sometimes be even more effective due to them not relying on HB monks.

I think people generally seem to dislike Paragon's for being a class that can fit two roles in a group at the same time instead of being limited to just the one role. Whats wrong with a high DPS and great defensive ability all in the one class? Do we all want to stay limited to using Ursanway and HB monks?

I've been a lurker here for a long and played guilds for way too long now. The paragon quickly became my preferred class after Nightfall came out. Prior to that it was a Necor, then a Sin with Factions. I like my Paragon because I normally h/h everything. I normally play in the morning hours (EST).

For them being overpowered, when I took my Paragon to Factions and did Viz square the glorius local team got wiped just as I got to Togo. I finished the mission with just my group of h/h and no deaths. This was before SY! and I still do not have or desire SY! I hate the grind. Paragons can be insanely powerful and fun if you like the play style. I've seen just as many Para's who hate them because they don't know how to play them or it's just not for them.

Play and try, if it is not for you, you'll know.

Exactly.

Because they don't have to move, they can change targets quicker. They only reason they don't have the same DPS is usually because they are occasionaly chanting, and don't attack when they do that (for some chants).

Thanks for this, I'll try using Cruel Spear in a DPS build until I get "SY!" and a decent sunspear rank for "TNTF!" since it's a very early cap.

By the way, what are people's thoughts on a Furious Spear? I know http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10254869 recommends a 5/1, 15^50, +30 spear but would my furious, 15^50, +30 not be better for quickly charging "SY!"?

[Cruel Spear] [Spear of Lightning] optional ["Never Surrender"] [Anthem of Flame] ["For Great Justice"] [Aggressive Refrain] Res

["Go For The Eyes"] or ["There's Nothing To Fear"] is my usual optional. Can take [Anthem of Weariness] over [Anthem of Flame] especially against destroyers.

Can take [Spear of Fury] over [Spear of Lightning] if you have conditions flying around to fuel [Cruel Spear].

Can drop res for ["I Am The Strongest"] but I would max Norn before you do that for +20 death.

Puts out decent dps with a bit of party support.

Nope, through the simple fact that adrenaline gain is capped at +100% which you get anyway through either [[focused [email protected]] or [[For great justice]. And vamp is just the best mod ever since and a 'must' with an IAS (or just sundering for the lazy folks).
