Please convince me to play a paragon!
I've had a long period away from Guild Wars, I'm not entirely sure why. I guess I've just been doing other things. Recently, however, a couple of friends asked me to come on and help them with some missions. I did so and stayed on for a while and decided to make a paragon.
Anyways, I want to make this paragon good and use it because paragons seem pretty cool. Unfortunately, there's little I hate more than the Nightfall starting area.
I know you can do it, so please motivate me to keep playing my paragon. Sit on my shoulder and whisper in my ear telling me about how awesomely awesome paragons are, how much they rape enemies and how much better off I'll be with a decent paragon.
Builds would also be greatly appreciated, especially paragon healing for me to try, high DPS builds and the godmode imbagon.
Thanks in advance, and inb4 any attempts to persuade me NOT to continue my paragon.

You mentioned prolly the best reason in the OP...........Imbagon if you cannot find another reason to use paragons, a few spring to mind, then being an Imbagon is the best reason to be a gd old paragon.

Being a ranged warrior who can empower the entire team and remain highly protected himself seems like a good enough reason.
Having infinate spears is another.

Ok, thanks a lot for the replies everyone. Congratulations, you've convinced me that spamming TNTF is worth suffering Istan for.
A cargoship full of interwebs for Sethelleington and Quantisha for the build and skill ideas, they've both helped a lot. And no, I will not be a SF Paragon.
Sir Owns Alot Ep: Good point, infinite spears. Where the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO do they keep all the damned things?
Thanks again for all the replies, I'll start working on getting the skills I need next weekend after my lovely exams.
Edit: bad spelin

Me and my guild have a couple theories ranging from "Oh they just pull it back cause they attached string to it before throwing it" to "Paragons carry around a little dimensional wormhole....".
In addition to the other things people have suggested, I would also noodle around in the Starter Paragon thread-sure it's a little outdated, but it gots some good stuff in there and if nothing else-will give you some ideas of your own in case you get creative.

Pointless thread FTW. Asking if Paragons are good in a Paragon forum...

Paragons are also fun in groups.
Run your paragon with the paragon henchie when you need henchmen, as they'll help you keep up your echos. Get the 2 Paragon heroes, and you can run Rac's Paragon Buddies build (in the Heroes/AI section) which can supposedly mow through most areas.
I'm suprised you don't like Istan. I've found it to be rather enjoyable compared to the begining area of Factions, and faster moving than the Pre-Searing/Post searing Ascelon. It wasn't too much of a problem to explore the entire island while dong quests (and grouping quests), and if you want to rush though it, you simply go into EotN and level up to 20 there, and then just do the primary quests/missions. To each their own I guess. At least it isn't that hard to get up to R6 sunspear on Istan for TNTF.

Nightfall is probably the easiest starting area IMO :/ Ascalon is slow, Factions is a bitch due to absolute failure of faction henchmen, and henchmen in general. Nightfall gives you heroes. They not be as good as real players, but at least they are better then henchmen.
Oh, and Imbagon FTW. Only thing bad about Paragons is the overall lack in number of good builds, because once you start running Imbagon, you won't stop. Sure it's extremely effective, but it's boring after a while just button mashing and winning.

That's something I've seen as a problem with both of the Nightfall professions, mostly because of a lack of Elites, but also due to a lesser selection of skills. Factions professions at least got some extra elites in Nightfall.

Thanks again for the extra replies. Good job isamu kurosawa, that's very impressive! I doubt I'll be able to do it, but it'd be fun seeing how well I compare.

I wasn't asking if paragons are good. In fact, I wasn't asking anything. Look at the OP, there's not a single question mark there.

Lots of numbers aren't always as impressive as big numbers.
I regularly do 70-80 in a single attack of my paragon.
Plus, Anthem of Flame and Go for the Eyes makes others do more damage, which works quite well.
There are party energy management skills for a paragon too in [[Zealous Anthem], [[Aria of Zeal], and [[Lyric of Zeal]. It's not a lot, but it can be quite helpful to give that little boost to the party (particularly Zealous Anthem is quite useful to help warriors, rangers, dervishes, and other paragons out).
Yeah, it's not a pure damage character, but honestly, not every one should be, and you're usually more valuable to the party that way.

Please don't play a nerfagon.
Paragon's have been so badly nerfed that the only build left to play relies completely on auto attacking the nearest target and spamming a PvE only warrior skill.
