I think I'm attracted to broken classes, because the most two characters I've played as were a Paragon and an Assasin.
Paragons just have so much to give. SY Is used in most builds, but they also have other useful skills for many different situations. [skill]Song of Purification[/skill] Was and elite I used to run all the time, as any skill can remove the condition. [skill]Defensive Anthem[/skill] Stopped melee on caster hate, and [skill]Spear Swipe[/skill] Is an on command daze. other important buffs like [skill]Anthem of Envy[/skill],[skill]Anthem of Weariness[/skill],
and [skill]Anthem of Flame[/skill] are greatly beneficial. Don't forget the unstrippable IAS [skill]Aggressive Refrain[/skill].

Does he know basic mechanics? That's, how much 100 al reduces, and such?
If you can't make him believe you because of respect (or whatever) to your knowledge, and you can't convince him by normal reasoning, he's lost cause.

well FoW and UW are over run with Ursan noobs the new Wammo and if youve played any REAL PvP then you would be seeing paras, but with someone of your intelligence its fairly easy to see the most you have done in PvP is RA, if not that then AB which isnt real PvP. ["Fall Back"] relic runner anyone?

ok... so... i'm not going to talk about the normal imbagon build that everyone uses nowadayts cos i is plaiout boring. alll i do is spam things 1 after the other. i rarely play imbagon because its too overkill.
i usually go for condition dps in pve on a paragon, dealing over 100 dmg with every attack while spreading conditions... dont bother asking, im not giving the build.
if your "oh, i am so wise friend wishes to see how imba paras really are in pve he should check out this link, a build i made for all para man pve (which btw i never used since i pvp only)
http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_Invincagons
this i how good they really are.
in pvp they are practically a must with their song of conc and make haste and fall back and DA and "They're on fire" blah blah blah...
refusing to try out a class is just plan dumb my little retarded friend..
anyways... 1 last thing for the omg i love dervs. dervishes are extremely powerful, true... but they are such weak tards. who the hell likes rushing into the front line with 60 AL lols?
go to runescape and mine OWNED BIATCH!!!

You guys are missing an obvious answer to his question... If his friend has never played a monk in a party with an imbagon and a party without an imbagon, then he wouldn't know the difference. So my advice is, tell your friend to play a monk and watch his opinion change.
My alliance does DoA usually every night, either in HM or NM depending on who is on. We rarely use more than one monk and an imbagon in NM, or 2 monks and an imbagon in HM, despite how all the 3-button pugs use 3 HB monks. Every monk you ever play with in DoA will tell you how much easier the chaos becomes when you play with an imbagon.

Well i will add my own two pence worth, although the point has been made by many people. Ive never played as a Para (yet), i mainly play as an Ele or Mo. When it comes to having a good balanced team i always look to have a para. The benefits they can add are great.
But like whats already been said above, when looking at UW or Fow all you will find is Ursanway, PUG you will get the more popular professions, but when it comes to having an organised team you will get a good mix of professions.
Like many other people here i have completed NF, factions and Prof on Nm and Hm quickly and that was aided by no small part of a para within our alliance.
There is a few professions i probably will never try because they are not for me, but that does not say i dont appreciate what they can bring to a team and i will be more than happy to have one of these as part of my future groups.
If people are too closed minded to not take in new information, or have there own opinions changed, or listen to other peoples advice and try it out for themselves before they judge it, then its these people i feel worry for.

The fact is Imbagon doesn't ever need to go into a PuG and h/h is often more than enough to be in PvE, is that why you don't see them much? Rather than waiting in an outpost for countless times as a dervish, Imbagons really > some other PvE classes out there as paragons with minimum req. can face PvE very well. Of course, Paragons have its own weakness too, eg. Being focused fire when you're TntF is reloading and SY can't help you, Vocal Minority in Mallyx' also shuts paragons down.
If you're talking about FARMING, many specific classes can obviously farm well and >paragons in this area, but try consider going solo as a ritualist or mesmer and some other classes, it gives you the same negative image as they are NOT MEANT TO BE USED in this way. Even so, they require much better strategy and builds to effectively utilize this region, but nonetheless, paragons can STILL own this area with great planning.
Some other posts have mentioned this : Paragons really have no limits on what he can do since he's such an imba class in PvE.

Ok after reading this thread about Para's and how they seem to be great in a support type role Im going to give one a try. Normally I only play an ELE/ME role whenever I play cuz I love to blow things up, but you all seem to give the Para class a good 2 thumbs up. With all the benifits they seem to add to any party they seem like loads of fun. Thanks

Don't use PuGs in your example.
Anyway, in FoW HM runs we always use an Imbagon. We probably couldn't rush it so fast without the Imbagon.
Oh, and if ~80% damage mitigation with Warrior-like DPS at range and infinity energy isn't good enough I don't know what to tell you.
Even then, they are still severely imbalanced without PvE skills.

Song of Conc and Make Haste are practically mandatory for certain objectives in HA only, but can be ran on other professions. Just wanted to clear that up.

Just give it to him in numbers and big words; He'll be impressed by your smartnessism.
Just think; Next time you would be taking 100 damage, you could be taking 17 (Or 11 if TNtF is up).
Something I just realized; With nothing but SY!, TNtF and a healer who's paying a little attention, someone could tank HM Aatxes with no armor on.
Tell your friend to tank a Aatxe with out any Prot or SY, then have him do it again with SY and TNtF on. See what he says after that.

also great in PvP if he can venture far enough away from *insert random slur* [skill]ursan blessing[/skill]
