Nerfing paragons
For the 1st time in 2 years i regret making my Paragon my Main character. With Anet's latest skill changes they destroyed "Angelic Bond" that was my best skill in build. What do you all think about Anet that keeps destroying Paragons all over.
These days it seems that they only give paragons 1 function = Imbagon. And nobody wants to play with 1 build the whole time.
Looks like they really hart the Paragon class.

Well, id say they should make the SoR back again, as it was.. Altough they arent that strong anymore whitout the VoD and much splitting atm But ye they should seriosly buff em hard some plaace, and hopefully on the defensive spot, since we have Rangers atm for range-dps

No.
Imbagon isn't the only function, its just the most powerful one, especially as only paragon in party.
Both [[Cruel spear] and [[Stunning strike] are very solid for spear chuckers.
[[Defensive anthem (PvE)] is quite powerful and so is [[Anthem of fury] in the right team.
All the motivation elites have their uses and you can also use ur elite slot for a silver bullet approach to certain areas.
Also, they are quite good users of PvE only skills like the standards, technobabble and great dwarf weapon, for example.
But in the end, a Paragon is a guy that throw spears and shout/chant a lot. A typical mid liner, with exceptional defense, solid one target damage and great party boosting skills/utility.

You're confusing "only function" with "most powerful".

who cares, ur paragon owns, be imbagon.
when i saw this thread i thought i was gonna see sum shizz like, NERF SY and theres nothin to fear!!!!
id been like hell na... thats paragon to the fullest, just like sins imo, IMO r useless in pve with out that perma build, and i think anet somewhat agrees, which is why they keep nerfing it but sitll making it maintable, sure the enrgy mangement is a bit tougher and the concentrating is more mandatory. i guess its against those UWSC, but i dont really know, never done the speed clear, dont like it much either.

[Defensive Anthem (PVE)] vs [Aegis (PVE)] .... Only advantage is that it's a chant and recharges 5 seconds faster, but ends if you use an attack skills...seriously....not worth an elite IMO. Paragons need some serious loving, they got nerfed so much due to PvP that they just suffer in PvE. They need most of their skills looked at and PvE versions implemented.

imo new angelic bond was not a nerf
single target dmg redirection was pretty useless imo
especially when it took 2 secs to cast
if u want dmg reduction...play sy+tntf
1sec cast party-wide divine intervention
even if not really all that useful, its at least more fun and versatile
tbh tho...they need to make it a shout with instant-cast, gives energy back, and triggers echoes (shorter recharge would be nice too--pve version)
song of power is also very fun to play if u want alternative builds
as is soldiers fury...i'd take soldiers fury over cruel spear anyday
i always bring charge in nm pve to speed thru things
now i can use incomming as an alternative
(of course in hm, u'd want a more combat oriented elite)
its jus a flesh wound is one of the best low-end pvp paragon elites
doesnt quite compare to foul feast necs...but it can hold its own in ra/ta
completely useless in pve tho

[[Defensive Anthem (PVE)] cannot be removed (not as important in PvE, but mallyx and a few other don't like that :P ) and also is in a character that has loads of energy management and don't need an elite.

Yes paragons can be effective at things.
But the point is that they are not as effective at things as other classes, save for the imbagon.
Paragons need to be wanted for more than spamming SY over and over.
The entire class needs looking at.

True.
But they certainly do not need a buff, particularly not in PvE. If you think they do, well, you are doing it wrong.

They are pretty good when you need more defense without reducing offense.
That's their strength - doing loads of things without gimping their builds into uselessness. They boost party in several departments without creating a weakness, while having space to bring that utility skill that will make area x,y,z easier (like mirror of disenchant against smites, hex removal somewhere, etc).
Their main weakness is lack of multiple target or AoE damage. [[Splinter Weapon (PvE)] comes to the rescue.
A 8 party paragon team is probably the most balanced team consisting of a single profession - and its a decent team at that.
Its a question of the more paragons the merrier.
Yes their game play can be somewhat limited - they throw spears and they shout/chant. All good paragons build do that and only that.
Fortunately, in GW is quite easy to have more than one profession to change play style.

When I read the patch notes, I saw this change and thought, "Wow what a stupid nerf - there goes my (4-man) paragon hero build." Oh well, guess it's back to necro heros again...

Ye you can play other Professions . But the you have to go through all that farming for titles and skills again. With EOTN you really cant have more then 1 main char to play with and have a real life also.

All you need is about rank 5-7. Generally one given profession will use skills from 1 or 2 ranks at most, and delver is quite an easy one. Finishing gwen will get one of the other ranks to 5-7.
