I have a lvl 20 N/e, and i've been hearing alot about ss necros and mm necros, and I don't know anything about these things, and my friend who has a solo monk says that me and him can do fow alone if i have the right skills.
Can you please tell me a little about the different necro builds and the fow thing?

Usually its Under World and not fiser of Woe with a 2 man team. But you need your secondary to be a Mesmer to the SS/SV echo build forum for that build. To change your secondary to Mes go to destinys gorge in the desert and do the mission dont worry you can always turn back into a Ele secondary and keep the skills but you need the mes skills for UW farming like Sympathetic Visage(SV) and Arcane Echo. For MM the recommended secondary is monk I think the change is in Seekers in the Desert. Really that build all you do is raise Minions and Fiends and keep them alive while they fight the enemy for you.

i say this ALOT but N/R make better MMs, N/Mo is popular for SF farming cause people think heal area is the best for healing your summons, but having ranger as a secondary allows you to use both healing spring, which heals more then heal area over a few seconds, and serpents quickness that not only makes your fiends recharge faster, but your verata sacrafice
but MMs can be more then effecient without using any secondary skills so keeping your necro a N/Me allows you to switch between MM/SS/Order/Battery as long as you have the right gear in inventory or storage

I'm not usally MM so I don't know whats best for them I just know the popular build thats it. But I still think for the UW SS/SV (N/Me build) echo is the way to go just from exp. Also as a N/Mo you can solo farm and wil not need your monk friend.
