Agreed. All other classes have them why not us necros? Also seems to me Anet intended to have soul reap skills but never implemented them, why else have a colector offhand that has half cast/recharge for soul reaping skills?

there are 3 energy storage skills
there is 1 fast cast skill
and no soul reap
so its not entirely unfair
but i think there could be and will be soul reap skills

Unholy Abomination (cost 20, -1 pip to maintain, cast 2, recharge 20)
Enchantment Spell
Exploit target dead ally's soul to create a level 15...20 Unholy Abomination. Foes struck by the unholy abomination will suffer from disease and poison for 5 seconds. Unholy Abomination ends if target dead ally is ressurected.
(rip off of the hardly-ever-used unyeilding aura. perhaps the target ally can control the abomination with all skills disabled until he/she is ressed.)

No soul reaping skills needed imo, its fine as it is.

To me, it's the most powerful inherent skill out there. I agree that it doesn't need another skill to buff it any further (but I wouldn't complain if it did have a skill or two)...

How? The only way it can be compared to Death Nova is that it is an enchantment spell cast on an ally that triggers upon that ally dying.
It's a boost to your inherit soul reaping bonus.

I really want to see a better visual effect to make it more interesting (instead of just purple numbers... which they added only recently) So whenever your Soul reaping skill come in to effect, you would have a little animation of "Sucking up the Souls" thing.
Soul Eater (cost 5, cast 2, recharge 20)
Enchantment Spell
For the Next 10 seconds, for every ally or foe die, you do not gain any energy but gain X HP instead.

What is the point of this skill? You spend 10 energy to get back at most 10 energy and a moderate heal (you'd get way more with the currently existing soul feast anywaY).

Actually, there is one. Whenever a necromancer gains the benefit of soul reaping, there are white sparks that fly up in a spiral around the character, accompanied by a melodic sound - identical to every other "energy gain" effect out there. If you want to confirm this, test it with a Zealous bow (since you can hit something and see/hear the energy gain without the battle sounds intruding) and/or try activating the Ghost-In-A-Box Halloween item in town, or just be within soul reaping range of someone else when they do.
Sure, the effect may not be unique to necromancers, but it is not limited to the purple numbers. I first noticed it around Halloween when I couldn't figure out the sounds and the animations that happened to my necromancer in town until I took my ranger out with a zealous bow

"Soul Feast" (didn't know there was already a skill by the same name) is that
Adjusting of the numbers I gave would probably have to be improved.. I'm no balance expert by any means...
But say if you have Soul Reaping at 8 and you used this skill, the next time something died, you would gain +8 energy and 90 life, at the initial cost of 10 energy. So instead of gaining 8 energy when the next thing dies, you gain 16. Now you spent 10 to cast the spell, so the net gain would be 6 energy.
Essentially you just *lost* 2 energy since you would have normally recieved 8 as a net gain, however you could also look at this as a 1/4 second fast heal when you see something about to die. So, if these numbers were accurate, 90 health for 2 energy (conditional, based on something dying) doesn't sound too bad to me. It would actually be a gamble: "He looks like he's about to die! I'm going to bet my energy that he does"
But the reward would be worth it. This would not consume/exploit a corpse.

Some skills seem bad or useless on the surface, and infact are useless. Others seem useless but do serve some purpose.

Throughout my career as a nec, I have found out that NO ONE (outside of necros) knows what death nova is, and according to them, its every single skill.
Some guy told me to stop casting death nova so I could build a bigger minion army...? (He thought it was putrid explosion)

Who cares if we need it or not? Give us a skill or take away the SR caster items, replacing them with Death caster items which are, for some reason, idiotically hard to find. Seriously those things are a slap in the face.

The only types of skills I can think of that would use soul reaping are the consue corpse, etc. Those are already in death.
