Default Monk/Necro?

I was wondering how Necro's summons work with Monk's protection and healing buffs. How long will a Bone Horror last with Mending (maxed healing att.) on?

At 16 HP, Mending gives +4 health regeneration.

Undead summons are raised with -1 health regeneration and gain another -1 regeneration every 20 seconds. At 60 seconds (with Mending +4), the undead summon will have +0 regeneration. At 80 seconds, -1 regeneration (-5 +4; -2 health/second). 100 seconds, -2 (-4 health/second), 120 seconds, -3 (-6 health/second).

In short: two minutes, maybe, assuming if you don't throw other healing spells on it and it isn't being attacked? Is it worth it to throw Mending on something that's going to die (again)? Not really.

Not long. Necro skills like Verata's Aura (?) and Blood of the Master are more effective than any monk enchantments you have to individually place on each minion-although Heal Area has its place on a N/Mo.
A minion will soon pass the +4 regen given by mending and start degening. It's not long.
Not to mention the fact that Soul Reaping works well in conjunction with minions; with a Mo/N you will have trouble with energy.

EDIT: I'm surprised it was 2 minutes. Loger than I expected, although that really doesn't change the fact that you go to a lot of effort to keep minions alive when a few nec skills would do a lot better.

So I guessing if I wanted to be a monk with a sidekick it would be better to be a Mo/R?

If you wanted one. I'd suggest against Mo/R and bringing a pet with you into a group, though - when your pet dies, all of your skills (that you use for healing/protecting your teammates; if you were a smiter that wouldn't be as bad) are disabled for four (4) seconds, making you a useless squishy. Bringing a pet also means bringing Charm Animal and Comfort Animal, two slots that you could use to further help the team.

Mo/N is an awesome sauce combination though. :|

I started out as a Mo/R, good fun with a pet and all, but horrible once you get to post-searing, all your skills recharge for 8 seconds when it dies (And it will, more then once), you get way better skills, pretty soon I went all Monk skills.

If you're going as a Mo/N Minion Master, I doubt you can have Mending on all your Minions, if you're a good devoted MM you're bound to have 10+ Minions constantly following you around, having 10+ Mendings up is alot of work, plus they're gonna die so easily, it's not worth it. Also you don't have Soul Reaping as a Mo/N which is good Energy Management for a MM to keep the Minion Factory going.

If you go Monk/Necro it is for energy management, primarily OoB though I have been a part of a team with 3 Mo/N each casting BR on eachother.

Mo/N is for blood magic not death magic as Lady Lozza said.

You will be too busy healing your minions instead of your party members so do not bother. It is also a waste of 15-25 energy to summon since you have no soul rreaping.
