Hi everyone, in an attempt to get rid of the myriad of duplicate "why can't i kill stuff?" threads on soloing as a 55 necro I'm writing up a very long and detailed guide on everything there is to know about 55 necros and the underworld smite run. I'm hoping to have it finished and posted by the weekend, and I'm asking anyone with questions regarding the build to post them in this thread. I want to answer every question, but I don't know all of them. Feel free to post anything and everything you can come up with, and I'll throw it in the FAQ section of my guide. I WILL NOT be answering questions in this thread, and I hope no one else will answer any of the questions here. I just want a nice long list of questions. Thanks in advance guys!

Well the issues I have are:

- I dont know the order to cast my skills. How should they be stacked?
- What enemies does this build not work against?
- Build specifics as far as skills and attribute point allocation.
- When do I renew my skills during battle? When they start flashing?

I think this is a good idea by the way so we should try and keep it bumped and we will see a drop in the amount of threads dedicated to the same topic.

Where is best place to farm(besides UW and FoW) with a 55 necro?
Are hydra good? I farm hydra but i never seem to get any drops?
Also, When you farm hydras, do u get all on u at once or do 1 group at a time?(If u do all at once, won't u get interupted every second?)

I have a bit of trouble w/ large mobs that can deal damage quicker than I can heal, i.e. Grawl (outside portsledge), Mountain Trolls, would it be a good Idea to use shield of Judgement instead of SS, or a combo of SS and shadow of fear? Also, I dont know how/if this fits "Q/A" format but any sort of walk through in UW (preferable worst case) would rule. Also I use builds found in the forums, but find myself using only the enchantments + prot spirit, heal brz and SS when should I be using the remaining two skills, i.e. orison of healing etc..

I find it MUCH easier to get as big a mob as possible, I like groups of 3 minimum b/c I find myself not getting enough NRG from essence bond and balth spirit to do much other than heal myself, as for the interrupts... it does happen but its not catastrophic, worst case they interrupt healing brz then I will hit sheilding hands real quick and it will reduce damage I take long enough for me to get heal brz back up. and you CAN get good drops but they are kinda rare depending on the time of day, as I understand it drop table "rotates" a bit depending on what time you are playing... I.E ids farming after 1pm CST i rarely get ids drop but at about 11am it seems I can always get one sometimes 2.

This is great guys, I'm hoping to have a very larg Q&A section in my guide. The guide is going to cover everything I know about soloing. I will have the skills, attribute setup, equipment, tactics, specific strategies against enemies, practice areas, and long section leading you through an underworld run. I've got a lot about the theory and basics too, so someone without any knowledge of the build can learn everything they need to know. Keep the questions coming!

Tactics for dealing with constant knockdown (e.g., those grawl) would be nice.

Is there even any point in trying to fight mixed mobs (e.g., ones with both enchantment strippers and healers)? More generally, where does the build NOT work well?

I have some questions. I am very new to Necro class (all my time is spent with my Mesmer is PVP land)

Still I wanted to make a PVE char and run it to 20 before the factions release. Then Ill decide if I want to run another char through the game or just PVP.

Anyways, these questions are going to be very noobish but i will ask them anyways since your guide should be geared towards everyone.

1) What are the best skills to take with you on a 55 Necro? Obviously this is going to differ from person to person and perhaps even zone to zone. So what are the core ones that are required? I could take a guess and probably get 7 out of 8, but I think it should be listed in you FAQ.

2) What items will be dropped by some of the large mobs that you will be farming? Which of these are most valuable for your build? What Weapons are good to use? What is the best type of Armor to use? (Does it even really matter)?

3) What is the build's biggest weakness? Are there any ways to improve this?

4) Since this is solo, practice is key. Are there any mobs that would be good to practice the keystrokes (meaning which spells to set off when) in order to master the build? Get it ready for the underworld?

5) I assume the only Elite you'll need is SS. Might want to mention which boss you have to steal this from. I know its a simple lookup but you want all the information on one page.

Thats off the top of my head.

If I think of more Ill post them.

When do you think we can expect this? I am still pretty low level but I plan to lvl like crazy in the next few days.

Well most of my questions were asked, but will there be any FoW run throughs? It has most of the drops people are looking for these days. Also the anti-interrupts/knockdowns would be quite nice. ^_^

I'm so excited for this, I've added you to my buddy list and check to see if you've made yer thread every day. XD I'm quite excited...I've just started my 55 build on teh sexeh necro and can't wait to learn how to use it to it's full potential.

BTW, where is your build? I'd like to see how it compares to what I'm using at the moment.
