Yeah, when I do B/P groups I always try to go with a guildy on TS so we can shoot the shit. He plays monk and usually finds himself pretty bored. He basicly just watches out for spike damage (lol). Great monk to, so it's a bit of a waste.

NICE JOB on reading 1 line out of the whole post. I told him to ping if he needed energy which didn't happen once. Every 7 seconds I heal 59 for all 8 people in the party plus on the other couple seconds between casts I could use healing breeze or heal other. Then you have to figure that the rangers are getting +17 for each hit on the barrage.

I had a monk that could not get past the first fight without pinging for energy and was to close to the fight and died. Throught out the whole trip thru I was pretty much his personal battery, (they should have asked for a battery instead and I could have brought BiP so it would not bring me to close to the fight) and wanted to be BR'd every 5 secs, when BR lasts about 14 secs. Needless to say I did not get much ordering in that run.

I have some questions. I have no experience playing Orders at all, but want to get into it and was wondering what good is Heal Area when it's also going to heal the enemies? Is this just a variable skills that some bring and some don't but is not considered one of the "core" orders skills?
Also, what is the basic plan of both orders skills? I know they don't stack so how do you spread these around?
Do you only cast Blood Ritual on the monk or do you spread that around to others when you can?
What armor setup do you guys usually go with or does it not really matter?
And lastly, is it more important to have Soul Reaping cranked up at 12 rather than have the extra health? Im assuming the Orders necro is supposed to completely stay away from fighting so is health just not as important as getting some of these other stats higher using superior runes?
Sorry if these are basic noob questions. Any feedback is greatly appreciated .I read through the thread and didn't really find answers to these basic questions.

Heal Area (if you choose to bring it) shouldn't be healing any enemies as you should be far away from the lines. Heal Area is generally for helping out the MM's minions after the battle is over. It can also be used as a pretty beefy self heal after saccing. If my group has a monk that is using OoB for e-management I try and make sure I stand next to him when using it.
As far as the Orders skills themselves you'll get some variation here. Some necros like to just keep Vampire up, with a 1 second downtime in between (with an enchant weapon mod). Others will alternate between Pain and Vamp.
BR on the monk AND the MM if you have a time. That MM is probably using some pretty heavy energy skills. A decent monk shouldn't really need a BR. If you've got the time, go ahead and keep him topped off. Otherwise just keep an eye on him and if a fight starts to last longer then usual make sure to BR him.
Armor doesn't really matter to be honest.
I crank SR up with a sup rune. It's not just about being in the back and not being attacked, but also health sacc %. Getting your max health low means that you are saccing less health, which means regen health spells will go a lot farther. Easier to get from 150 to 300, then it is 240 to 480.

Hence why Aura of the Lich is wonderful for an OoP Necro. I was recently running the following doing a Tombs B/P run:
16 Blood (12+4)
14 Death (12+2)
7 Soul Reaping (6+1)
Aura of the Lich {E}
Order of Pain
Blood Renewal
Blood Rit
Res Sig (or Rebirth if Monk secondary)
The other three skills are pretty much open. The AotL drops my health sac to a miniscule amount, which mitigates the sac from OoP and Blood Renewal, with Blood Renewal covering any damage I'm taking from saccing, resulting in the Monk never having to heal me at all. I was spamming every health sac I had. Never had any problem with health. It was glorious.
It's a pity we'll never see an AotL-based Orders Necro in PvP, because it really should be the next evolution of the Order Nec.

There ya go Cygnus, another option for you.
I'd probably stick with Vamp as my elite due to the fact my B/p groups are always pugs and you can never tell when the monk's wife, husband, mommy, dog, etc will make them log off. Then the Orders Nec becomes the primary healer and Vamp can help a lot.
Siren's build is a lot more artisitc, and just more "necro" though

The only thing I would guess might happen with AotL is people not knowing how useful it can be, and not wanting to play with you because of their own ignorance. Of course that would change when people start realizing the power AotL and it starts to become trendy, then it would be acceptable by all.
This is only assuming you play with PUGs. I know if you show up in Tombs and people are looking for orders necros and you tell them you are bringing AotL, most would probably start throwing the work noob around unfortunately. Of course you dont have to tell them what elite your bringing since most would just assume your bringing Vamp anyway.
That's just my guess though. If you are playing with a guild then obviously they would know what the plan is.

I was musing over this build earlier, and wouldn't this be a lovely variation (and much safer) for an Order Nec?
16 Blood (12+4)
14 Death (12+2)
7 Soul Reaping (6+1)
Aura of the Lich {E}
Order of Pain
Blood Renewal
Blood Rit
Putrid Explosion
Dark Fury
Well of Blood
Res Sig
The Wells will help with the healing, and Putrid does 114 damage.
I think Dark Fury is a must for Warrior Support, because even though the description says "next attack," it's actually every attack. "For 5 seconds, whenever a party member attacks, that party member gains an extra strike of Adrenaline."

Wells and putrid explosion get rid of bodies that can be used by your minion master. In ToPK, you'll get more benefit out of using corpses to tank while your rangers do the damage with barrage and orders. Putrid damage is also difficult to control, in that the target has to be close to the body you're blowing up.

For a while I was running BiP for my elite, so I could better power the monk and MM, and could keep OoP up almost constantly, but the B/P's kind of freaked and wanted OoV instead. So I have been running OoV and OoP now.
I leave the wells to the MM, if they have one and want to use it that is for them to decide

I was actually more referring to a PvP setting. It's unfortunate this thread was solely for the PvE Tombs, heh.
