New Necro build Ive been having fun with.
Hi guys, yep, yet another degen build I have been fooling around with on my Necromancer. Im using pure Necro spells this time, no Mantra of Persistance, or any Illusion spells at all. This build has good, long lasting degen for a nice cost, with the benefit of damage from soul barbs. Enfeeble and Faintheartedness deals with Warriors, Rangers, and Assassins damage output, while at the same time giving them 10 pips of degen(8 Health, 2 Energy). Consume Corpse and Taste of Pain are the only Death spells on my bar, but they are extremely useful at both keeping my health and energy up.
Like always, compliments, criticism and comments are welcome.
Necromancer/Monk
Level: 20
Soul Reaping: 8 (6+2)
Curses: 16 (12+4)
Death Magic: 12 (11+1)
Soul Barbs (Curses)
For 30 seconds, target foe takes 31 damage when an Enchantment or Hex is cast on that target.
Energy:10 Cast:2 Recharge:20
Faintheartedness (Curses)
For the next 37 seconds, target foe attacks 50% slower, and that foe suffers Health degeneration of 3.
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:8
Wither [Elite] (Curses)
For 37 seconds, target foe suffers Health degeneration of 4 and 2 Energy degeneration. Wither ends if that foe's Energy reaches 0.
Energy:10 Cast:2 Recharge:10
Parasitic Bond (Curses)
For 20 seconds, target foe suffers Health degeneration of 1. The caster is healed for 126 when Parasitic Bond ends.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:2
Consume Corpse (Death Magic)
Exploit a random target. You teleport to that corpse's location and gain 85 Health and 17 Energy.
Energy:10 Cast:1 Recharge:0
Enfeeble (Curses)
Target suffers from Weakness for 21 seconds.
Energy:5 Cast:1 Recharge:5
Taste of Pain (Death Magic)
If target foe is below 50% Health, you gain 126 Health.
Energy:5 Cast:0.75 Recharge:10
Rend Enchantments (Curses)
Remove 9 Enchantments from target foe. For each Monk Enchantment removed, you take 23 damage.
Energy:10 Cast:3 Recharge:30

Just a few tweaks to your build.
I'm guessing this is a PvE, since it wasn't stated as not being PvE.
Consume Corpse and Taste of Pain are two spells I would remove.
Actually I would also remove Rend Enchantments as well.
I would take Life Siphon, Mark of Subversion, and Rebirth.
The reason is, Life Siphon will top off the 10 health degen and gives you health.
Mark of Subversion will interup a spell, give you health and counts as a hex for Soul Barbs.
Rebirth, I don't think I need to comment.
I know you will ask about Energy Management. You just need to have Soul Reaping at least 12 (preferably higher), and the rest into Blood Magic. Why? Because, having Life Siphon too high, doesn't add much benefit, as the degen is topped at 10. You will have so much healing anyway, you don't need too much more from the blood magic area.
I also do not like the idea of hurting myself for removing monk enchantments.
This is just my opinion.

Actualy this is meant for pvp...ab's or ra. I havnt tried this for gvg, as I dont think it would last long without a body to exploit.
The only reason I use Cc is for energy management(the healing) and corpse denial. Taste of Pain is a conditional heal and has served me well in keeping me alive.
But yeah, this is one of the many degen builds I have, theres just something about Wither that I like...

i think consume corpse is a great skill. i like taste of pain as well.
but in ra this would get smashed. you just don't have any way to keeping the melee guys from breaking your face.
ab's it might do alright. but aoe damage would do much better.

About the melee thing... I dont understand, I have Faintheartedness, which slows them down considerably, with enfeeble bringing their damage output down by 66%.
And about the Aoe thing, yeah I agree, but Im really tired of using ss, and foc isnt worth it to me anymore, it wasnt that spectacular in the first place to be honest... but, I like the power in it that allows me to spam degen to anyone I see. But yeah, this is one of my experimental builds, it just happens to be a decent build.

My suggestions:
- Enfeeble --> Enfeebling Touch (solid dmg output)
- Rend Enchantments --> Desecrate/Defile Enchantments (Few enchantments are going to counter your degen. Instead, use them to do damage)
Other Skills to Consider:
- Necrotic Transversal (Poison for Degeneration, less useful IMO)
- Rising Bile (Wouldn't normally suggest, but since you like to target several people, throwing this on someone in a group and covering it may work nicely after thier health has degenerated quite a bit. Also, note that attr. 13 Death will do 4 dmg per second.)
- Verata's Aura (Ab's only, steal minions ftw?)
- Rotting Flesh (try to pair up with a Tainted necro!)
- Malign Intervention (cuts down enemy healing ability, which is already hampered by Wither)
My advice. Tried to stay within the Necro-only boundaries. If i offered any non-specific advice, it would be to add some solid damage into your skill bar to pair up nicely with the degeneration.

Well, the only reason I use Rend is for aspenwood, but even then I just make a well of profane necro now. Rising bile would be nice, the touch spell could help me with damage as well. Nice spells to consider.

Consume Corpse in RA is pretty worthless, as you have a very limited number of corpses to exploit.
I would recommend using your Monk secondary instead of relying on Taste of Pain for your healing. Investing so heavily in Death Magic for your healing seems to be better spent on Healing Prayers instead.
I definitely like this build for AB, with the insane number of corpses that are available. If you paired this with Necrotic Transversal, you could be a teleporting nightmare, consuming for energy and poisoning at the same time...
