It seems too energy intensive to maintain. With only 10 into Soul Reaping, it seems to me that you'd be out of energy quickly.

Price of Failure is not necessary for this build, try either Mark of Pain or Defile/Desecrate Enchantments.

Shivers of Dread is a good spell, but it steals energy from you everytime cold damage is done to your target.

Otherwise it seems fine to me.

Default My SS build

Curses: 12+1+3
Soul Reaping: Rest plus minor or major rune

1. Spiteful Spirit
2. Weaken Armor
3. Barbs
4. Mark of Pain
5. Price of Failure
6. Suffering
7. Desecrate Enchantments
8. Res

never have to worry about energy since SR is up. I sometimes use Arcane Echo but not often, it just depends on what I do... but thats what I usually stick to. Might sub in parasitic bond, or mending touch somewhere in there sometimes.

Does anyone else besides me think bringing Awaken the Blood when SS'ing isn't that helpful? I'd rather put my remaining points into Soul reaping to get more healing/energy from Sig of lost souls. I always bring Defile/Desecrate enchantments for added damage rather than AtB.

The build seems fine but I don't see why you need Price of Failure and Parasitic Bond. Having Wreckless Haste means you don't need Price of Failure and using Insideous Parasite should be all the health management you need (if used correctly). And I have yet to encounter an AI mob that will remove hexes, thus eliminating the need for cover hexes like Parasitic Bond, but if you do find one just target the hex remover with Shivers of the Dead first then proceed to finish the mob as usual.

This is my core build...

12+3+1 curses
9+1 soul reaping
9+1 blood

Wailing Wand + Bone Idol + Scars

Awaken the Blood
Arcane Echo
Spiteful Spirit
wreckless haste
Insideous Parasite
defile enchantments
desecrate enchantments/rez
shivers of the dead

Pretty simple. At start of battle do AtB->AE->SS(first target)->SS(second target)->WH(center of mob)->IP(usually a ranger). Then spike with defile/desecrate enchantments. I have no problems with energy when I run this build, and for those warriors/assasins/rangers that target me I just slap IP on them for health.

When the mob thins out i'll place SS and IP on the same target.

Control monks/elementists/mesmers/necros with shiver of the dead if they pose a big threat.

Anyway, this is the PVE build I've been running since I started factions, but I just got Nightfall recently so i'll have to see if there are any skills i can place in this.

As a variation to this, I can replace Feast of Corruption with Spiteful Spirit. In that case I cast Wreckless Haste first and then two FoC in a row, followed up by defile/desecrate enchantments.

I'm not sure that AtB is all that great. I find myself forgeting to renew it mid battle, but it doesn't seems to matter that I don't. I also don't renew AE mid battle either for energy conservation reasons.

When I know I'm going to fight mobs with lots of tough elementists I'll swap Defile Enchantments with some kind of mesmer elemental protection.

PvE i'd sugest 7 insp and spirit of failure on something that you cast reckless haste on, that way ull almost always get 3 energy everytime that foe attacks.

PvP, i dont really know, i'd probably get rid of the echo and put insidious parasite in for abit of healing and maybe put in parasitic bond or distortion. Maybe put 9 or 10 points on dom and add backfire for casters , but SS would only be used in Alliance battle I think

br makes you actually do something useful after the first 5 seconds of the battle. defile/desecrate take to long to cast to really be any using in higer level areas.. making your monks have 7 energy regen is a very very good thing, its a team game, learn to help out.
