Should I use Olias as straight necro OR pick a second profession for him?

If second profession, which one and why?

i go with the thought what are using him for and how many slots do you have dedicated then calculate whether he night have energy problems or not then take that evidence which means he is a hero and runs through energy fast so i decide to make him a mesmer secondary with energy stealing skills to help him out on that problem but there is always give him monk and give him a hard res. as for my olias i use him as a mm with sig of lost souls he does quite well on energy management so i gave mine monk as as secondary for the res. as for heros like my ele i drop a few mesmer skills to help them go a little longer but this really is purely up to you

I like /Me, just for energy management. Remember, Heroes are great with interrupts, so things like Leech Signet and Power Drain allow for good energy management (with decent ranks in Inspiration) and also serve to shutdown enemy casters.

It just depends on the build, and what you need it to accomplish.

He also works really well as an SF ele, when teamed up with Zhed and Sousuke.

i always wonder why people use a hero like they should be a different profession why use a necro as an ele when there are so many necros things he can do and do well. maybe your suggesting to add sf and gg to a necro build if thats the point please submit id love to look at it.

I like to max Death and Soul Reaping, and put a few points in Blood to help Dark Bond.

So that leaves zero attribute points for the secondary profession.

Sometimes I give him Glyph of Lesser Energy to help with fast minion raising.

Or go /Mo for a hard rez.

I like to put about 9-10 points into inspiration and use mantra of inscriptionts - leech signet and signet of lost souls. Olias uses this combination to great effect i find and never runs out of energy, he also tends to only use leech signet on spells rather then just spam it on warriors.
