It's a loaded question - each of us prefers to play different primaries so your answer will vary from W/D, W/Rt, Rt/W, Rt/Mo, D/X, W/Me, E/Me, dual teams etc depending on the individual's comfort level with each skillset.
My personal preference is for melee characters - for UW I use a W/D build posted here because it's safe, quick and easy to use for a UW newb. I'll likely use a D/X for FoW.
I'd give the standard "use search FTW" but it doesn't work so i'll suggest you read the Read Me Before Posting Thread and Solo Farming threads as a starting point. And while you're at it how about not being so lazy and read the various threads posted in this forum on UW and FoW builds, check with PvX Builds and Guildwiki and decide for yourself...we're not here to hold your hand which is why it's taken 40+ views to get a response to your question.

well if you know how to avoid the dying nightmares the 55hp version with ss (not sv) is imo the best way to farm uw.
Let me tell you why i prefer ss from sv
The aatxes might be easier with sv because they don't interrupt it that often but if you let them interrupt mending or smth else first they don't.
With some training you can kill up to 5-6 Aatxes at once.
Then another problem with SV is that you can't kill the Graspings fast enough and might get dazed. You only need 2 SS (1 out of aggro range to lure them and 1 after they all used their interrupts) 1 good timed PS and maybe 1 HB.
Also the Smites are way faster with SS than with SV.
You can also mod the Build and go to FoW, which is a little bit more complicated.
Another Version for you might be the 330 hp Ritu Build, which seems great for UW imo, but i haven'`t tested it yet

max_rulez, i saw your axe W/D build and it seems very interested. But... how safe and fast is it? I want a build that allow me to make an error sometime, not to die at the first error...
Btw, in your thread, i didn't see which equipment you'd have to use and the explication of the build, could you please do it, like you did at the W/D scythe you also made?
Thanks a lot ^^

The axe one, you need radiant insignias and an elemental axe of enchanting (17%+). It could be done with any other axe of enchanting too but elemental speeds up the run Also its pretty fast (20 min runs) and its pretty safe. Just make sure you always have both enchants up vs smites. For the graspings just keep dolyak up.

Soloing Smites is pretty good with Warrior or Ritualist. I personally use a Ritualist build that resembles the W/Rt build, but it is alot faster, and just as safe. W/Rt is best if you are a first timer... the only time you die is if you get stuck running by Blades. Everything else is pretty simple to kill.
If you want to beable to solo Blade Aatxes, Grasp, and Smites in HM... Ritualist is pretty good to go with.

The Necro fanatic speaks!
for UW/FoW, i use my necro. no question. like Dopefish said, a 55 SS necro can EASILY get aatxes, graspings, coldfires, smites and terrorwebs (if you get a good spawn.) and a necro can do it (even easier) in Hard Mode. also, the 55 necro for the FoW works incredible in Hard Mode. i can do all of Rastigan's first quest, i can nuke the dryders then hit the spiders, and i can get the skeletal army as well. i'm also working on a safer, more reliable build that allows me to kill only graspings and smites, but it halves the time. non 55, ofc. so, my answer: Necro.

Quite honestly almost every profession has a build to solo UW, although some range in how well/proficient they are.
Ritualist, Warrior, Monk, Necro, and Ele appear to be the ones most commonly used, but it doesn't mean they are the best.
This question's answer is simple. There is no best profession for doing this, the endless amounts of skills can make so many combinations, and I'm sure there are tons of builds out they we have yet to make. There are so many builds for UW, look them up if you want to test them out yourself.
No best profession for UW. Silly thread...and no reason to continue as the question has potentially too many answers for this thread to even be useful.
