Why keep a necro?
Istarted a necro partly for farming/solo power. I'm right now lvl17 working on ascenssion for the stats quests. The builds i like to play (mostly blood spiker variations) wind up being weak.
I'm thinking about deleting her but before that I'd like to know what people on a necro forum would say if I'd ask : What can you do/play as a fully grown necromancer? (not asking for specific builds, more for what is doable or what kind of playstyle is possible)

Some of them can be combined...like...

Why would you use bloodspiker skills.... Bloodspike works, and rarely at that (go watch obs mode to watch bloodspike get stomped on for free champpoiiiiiiiiis) because there are 8 necros. 1 necro is going to do very little damage, and at high energy cost, 10 energy spells over and over is a quick way to run out of energy.
Use curses like Spiteful Spirit. Blood is generally a bad line unless you're doing spoil victor boss farming.

You have got to be kidding.
Enfeebling Blood
Orders - Order of Pain, Order of Apostasy (crap), Dark Fury
...replaced by D/N due to the energy return form Mysticism but still
SS on >12 curses, Spinal Shivers with high curses to be able to sustain it
Spoil Victor > 12 Blood
Minionmaster with minions that actually damage things (not minionbombing Rt/N wannabes)
Minionbombers with 16 Death Magic for more damage (105 vs 85, 10 minions versus 8)
Jagged bones Minionmasters
Blood ritual + vampiric Gaze + blood of the aggressor + juandiced gaze self sufficiency
Defile Defenses/Weaken Armor/Barbs with physicals (Mark of Pain causes scatter so I don't bother with it)
Gaze of Contempt/Rend Enchantments to annihilate enchantment stacks on Dervishes
N/Rt healers
Icy Veils -Putrid Bile-Rising Bile style PvE builds
Tainted Flesh + Withering Aura style melee buffing builds (only D/N comes close to Necro efficiency in maintaining them)
The awesomeness that is necrosis.
more to come when I think of it.

Jagged Bones is garbage since nerf imo... [skill]aura of the lich[/skill] is better for MM if used right.

Necros are indeed weak early on.
They mutate into powerhouses in Cantha, Elona and HM areas, as they provide defense, offense and immense killing power. Till you have gotten all the skills in Prophecies, you must at least have been through Droknar's and capped SS near Camp Rankor.
Blood is not too cool without EOTN skills and Spoil Victor, and in general you are better off as SS or MM.
Do not doubt the power of necros, they might just not be YOUR way to solve a problem.
My main char is a necro, but I deleted two-three tries to play a Necro in Prophecies, which plainly sucked so much...^^
I started my Necro in Cantha, where the environment is ideal for a MM. Later I became SS and found out that she was ideal to kick **** in HM. So much better than my Warrior! But I did not like Necros early on either for said reasons, maybe you are a Warrior, Ele or whatever at heart.

In PVE? Anything you want - unless you use a poor build.
Play style? Patient.

As long as you have bodies, MMs can rip apart a good portion of PvE.
[skill]Order of Undeath[/skill][skill]Animate Flesh Golem[/skill][skill]Aura of the lich[/skill][skill]Jagged Bones[/skill]
SS or SV takes care of the other areas and is very potent when farming
[skill]Spiteful Spirit[/skill][skill]Spoil Victor[/skill]
Orders are great if you have a lot of phyiscal attackers in your group (and still very popular for tombs I believe)
[skill]Order of Pain[/skill][skill]Order of the vampire[/skill]
BiP is a great help to casters
[skill]Blood is Power[/skill][skill]Blood Ritual[/skill]

I can hardly think of a place in the game where a Necro is not welcomed in a party.
For solo farming, you might be limited to 55/SV or 55/SS. For dual farming, you can go with anyone else who refuses to die.
For solo playing, you can get two or three other Necro heroes and be able to take on much of PvE.
Probably the only place that Necro primary are not in demand is in PvP.

They don't belong to the typical balanced midline, but they are a key part of many lame or spike builds.
