Default HP/Energy as Necro

Hello fellow Necros. Question as in topic. I've been playing SS necro for couple of weeks. What HP and Energy should i aim for. Any equipment suggestions for curse build (currently i have stonereaper, today i farmed it after 15 tries

Sorry for noob question but im fairly new to this class. Thanks for any help.

If your going just full curses, and nothing Else, then you most likely won't need any energy besides from soul reaping. Even through all the nerfs, soul reaping is one hell of an energy management tool.

20/20 wand and offhand for weapons. Nothing compares.

HP and energy really are up to the individual's preference for insignia and runes.
Some people swear by sup/major runes for added damage, some use minor for the health buffer. Then there's me who really can't be RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOed to waste money on a new headpiece, so uses his PvP-ready gear and sticks with minor anyway.

Just make your own mind up about what feels best for you.

Personally, i'm at 42 energy and 590 health in my 20/20 wand/offhand set.

Now that I think about it, I do have a suggjestion for health. If your doing PvP, a good idea is to get your health at LEAST at the 500 mark, if not higher, since there are spike happy fiends there.

Mine is 520Hp and 51 En When i have the stonereaper (for uw duo)

520 and 48 with 20/20

depends almost on what I am running skill wise, if its a lot of sac skills then I will run a lower health for PVE. But for less sac skills in PVE I like to try to run pretty much as much health as I can get out of 1 sup and a minor and the other runes and isignias twords health and nothing else I usually dont have any energy problems with soul reaping for my pure e managment

For PvE it doesn't matter much imo.
For PvP, health, health, and more health, so minor runes.
The Stonereaper is an ok weapon for a curses necro but a wand and offhand each with 20/20 makes for a total 36% chance of halving your cast time and or recharge on curses and is the ideal set-up. Having a high energy set is a decent idea for when you want some extra energy now to finish casting.

I run with relatively low HP in most PvE situations (superior rune, no +hp insignias, 20/20 wand/offhand set, major vigor, for a total of 446 hp). I've rarely run into a situation where having 50 (or even 100) more HP would have kept me alive significantly longer.

I personally think the most optimized configuration for general PvE is a wand/focus set with 20HSRx2, 20HCT and +1/20. The second HCT chance is not worth as much as the 20% chance for a +1 stronger spell (which will theoretically speaking raise your focused attribute to 16.2.) However most of the time I am simply lazy and prefer to run with my SR Onyx Staff which is +60hp and 5^50, for all purposes.

I'm running superior rune headsets for everything in general PvE combined with superior vigor, radiant+bloodstained insignias, attunements and a minor Soul Reaping. The only scar I don't run superior on is the Soul Reaping scar because there is never a reason to raise Soul Reaping that high - I use minor on that one.

Thus most of the time I run with 515HP and 56E. I have tried a configuration giving me only 51E for my Curses, but it tends to be just a small bit too low due to my playstyle, which is very active and aggressive hexing.

I think this depends on what you're doing and what area you're in. In general the 20% chance of +1 isn't valuable unless it pushes you over a breakpoint (higher level minions are great, +2 damage for SS one time in 5 is not so important). I'm normally lazy as well, and I just keep whichever weapon i think is useful in most situations. I do agree that increased skill recharge is much more important than increased casting time, unless you're running a whole lot of 3s+ casting time spells, which in most cases means you need to rework your skill bar.

i used stonereaper for a few days, lol, then switched to 20/20 x 2 wand and focus, and am absolutely loving it

for MM however, I go with a 20/20 +1/20 staff...

I feel that for Curse, double HCT is more valuable than double HSR, because most of your nice skills are 2 second casts.

I use Modti's Depravation for double HCT.

I used to use Sup. Curse for NM, but switched to Min.Curse for HM. 510hp 54e

I'd imagine that I'm in the minority here, but Necro is the only proffesion I would sacrifce HP to get 20/20+20/20 and full radiants. Having radiants lets me unload early and then cruise at 50% energy for the battle instead of being close to 0 and missing an important spell or being near full and wasting an SR hit.

Runes: Tormenter's on chest and legs, Bloodstained on hands if running corpse spells, Survivors for the rest. Sup Death/Minor Curses on headpiece, Sup Vigor, Minor Soul Reaping, Vitae for the rest.

Weapon Sets: 40/40 Curses, +15e/+15e high set, 40% HCT Death staff with 20% enchanting, +30hp/+30hp Sword/Shield set.

Learn to weapon swap and save yourself from all those Radiant/Attunement runes.

With a 40/40 set, you have 42 energy.
You can switch to your +30-2 set to cast a spell or two if needed, then wait for soul reaping to kick in.

And IMO, there are too many good curse skills to bring archane echo in my bar.

the good skills are situational. arcane and SS are universal, more worth the skill slot.

Besides a superior curses and a minor soul reaping rune I went for full radiant/attunement build. For pve that is. I prefer to have some more energy at the start of the battle when soul reaping doesn't provide energy. And a necromancer isn't a tanker so he doesn't need tons of health anyway.

But a necro is a squishy (lower armour) so wouldn't more health make sense, in the event aggro may swap to him?
