Either way it's a moot point. You "don't want to waste your potent 20s-recharge hex" because the foe will die in 3 seconds? Well, that means your potent 20s-recharge hex will be recharged for another target if you're using Promise...

So it doesn't matter much either way... just the casting time consideration and such...

Man this thread is full of so much fail it isnt even funny. A guy wanted to know some fun PVE necro builds, not listen to the e-peen nonsense of all you botards. SS (with or without AEcho) and MM are both alot of fun. My suggestion is, pick a skill or elite you like to run, throw some skills that seem to work well together, really the most fun build is subjective to you. Lately I have been running Icy Veins as my elite with 3 other necro heros. Either way, dont let all these guys with their QQ and moaning distract you from having fun with your necro it is indeed a great profession with alot of things to do.

But Seriously run the A-promise build, that is alot of fun. If not run a simple MM as that has it fun points.

That last sentence means nothing.. The majority of decent necro farms use SS except a few like Minister Cho's Estate and Yeti Farming because the targets are mostly ranged/ casters and so placing SS on them efficiently doesnt work too well.

Boss farming is a faction of Farming in general. Theres many more farms available to a necro than just using SV and Vampiric Bite on bosses. You can kill bosses just as easily with SS.. not to mention mobs that go with them.

Dont like Facts? Well.. you can gtfo or... stfu cus either way SS>SV.

SV is used to farm one target, bosses ect, and also,

I find BIP (Battery) fun. You get to hang out and watch all the action while being very busy to keep giving energy and managing life.
