That's just like saying Splinter Weapon does more damage than physicals.
Well, yes, ofcourse it does, but that's because of it being AoE, but it relies on physicals to be effective. In terms of single target damage, Warriors are king. In terms of AoE damage, Dervs are king.
Necros: Ultimate Physical Buffer would be a better title for the build.

It's a quite silly contention, to be honest, either way. It's a type of "my class has a bigger e-peen than your class".
Guild Wars is a team game. Every character relies on another character to be effective. Well, except for farming.
(Another thing, however, is that Barbs doesn't rely on "physicals" in the sense Tyla puts in the word. It relies on stuff doing physical damage. Monk heroes. Minions. Now, I certainly wouldn't run a normal, balanced PvE team without a couple of paragons on it, for example, but a Barbs spammer works just fine without a single Dervish, Assassin, Ranger, Warrior or Paragon on the team. This is somewhat important to remember for those pesky 4-man areas.)

QFT! I made my necro my main and I suddenly had no money and found my storage clogged with all manner of expensive armor and weapons. I swear necros like shopping more than mesmers!
But really necros are rediculously fun and addicting even if you have to be careful with them around your money.

I'm not sure what my second profession will be. I want to make sure I pick a useful one because once I choose it I cant go back. Any suggestions on what my second profession should be for a PvE build?

You can choose mulitple secondary professions, just later in the game. you need to Ascend/Weh No Suh/Hunted! your way through first, though.
For Necromancer, probably Monk, Mesmer or Rit, perhaps Ele.

So I can choose multiple secondary professions? I was never aware of this. So at a certain point I could become a N/Me/Mo?

No, you can only have one secondary profession at a time, but you can switch to others. For example:
N/E for Snowman Runs
N/Mo for Farming
N/D for skill capping.
Have multiple secondary professions is... somewhat bad for game mechanics. I think.

What? My NPCs said "CAUTION: YOU MAY NOT CHANGE YOUR SECOND JOB" so I'm not sure if that is true. Can somebody confirm this?

Proof that you can indeed change your second profession.

Why do NPCs keep telling me that I cant change my second profession? Oh well. Its good to know that I don't need to restart my character if I choose a bad 2nd class.

You can not change your secondary untill later in the game. The NPC telling you that is the starter profession trainer.
What that means is if you choose Mesmer as secondary, then you will have to stick with that untill you have progressed far enough into the game to "earn the right" to change yoru secondary as Tatile has said. (these quests are part of the story line and you have to sdo them anyways.

Go ahead, make a Necro. Going Mes 2nd is good too. I made mine and he is it. Sure, I made other profs but I always come back to my nec. I mean really. I can degen, make you pay for attacking/casting, raise the dead, heal, power high energy skills, spam....list goes on. Nuff said.

the highlighted section is the only part where i must disagree. at best, the necro will only be able to slow an opposing caster down if they are not a monk, and has only about 3 decent skills that can heavly penalize a caster. do not start a necro as a means of anti-caster unless you're hunting for monks.
