I made the dive last night and made my Necro a 55. I started off "easy" with minotaurs. On my first try, I died in about 5 seconds. Second try, about 10 seconds. But I kept trying. I got the hang of it and moved to desert and took on Griffs. Much easier. I'm loving the build so far. I think a little more practice and I'll try my luck with some Bladed Aatxes in the UW. Max regen or 1s more of PS? I prefer regen WAY more.

Health regen is not an issue in the underworld at all when you're going up against aatxe. They just don't hit enough, even when you're bleeding. You can even survive for a short while without HB going. And honestly, I can't count the number of times I've recasted PS at the last second. If I didn't have that little bit of extra time I would have been dead. Of course when you're fighting a large group and you need the extra regen and energy management isn't a problem moving the point over makes sense.

first of all i woudl liek to say prps on your build. I was sick of stupid 55 monks dyign every time a nightmare showed up in the UW. Now i can blam emyslef every tiem i die

about the +1 regen vs +1 sec PS i woudl take the regen. And lynch every time u recaste dPS at the last second woudl be the same with or w/o an addition second. besides i usualyl cast PS and HB at the saame time when HB runz out.
My first 2 days went great. 8 ecto in 2 days. Thats w/o gettign to smites. and never finishign a run. I can consistely get to smite snow if i stop gettign distracted but the cover hex SoF doesn't work. I re-read what u said and followed it to the book. Cast SoF wait a little cast SS then cover it immediatly with SoF. They smited the SS b4 the cover hex got up. Am i doign somethign wrong or am i just unlucky.

First and foremost, I think you should buy a new keyboard. Second, it's Lych, not Lynch. As much as I do enjoy capital punishment and village hangings, Lych is a much more suitable name for a necromancer. Third, recasting PS at the last second will be different with two different spell durations. I don't wait until the last second on purpose, I only cast it at the last second when I forget about it or I am knocked down several times in a row. The extra one second saves my ass in those cases.

As for you problem with cover hexes, I would wait a little longer before casting SS. Chances are there are still a couple smites that haven't cast Smite Hex and they're catching you before you can cover. Smite Hex has a 10 second recharge, so you've got a decent sized window for SS and SoF before they are ready to strip again.

I've been using vampiric touch as an emergency healer, and a generic 'finishing move' when i farm the hydras/griffs/trolls/what have yous. It's also quite handy if you're low on health and need an instant 100% life restore. I have 6 in blood to take advantage of the -50 cesta's E, and w/that i get +47 life stealing w/vampiric touch. Just a thought for those of you that have been thinking about farming some other things to learn how to do what you're doing.

I wonder if it would be any good in the UW, as it's a 15E, 3/4sec spell. Is that enough time to be interrupted w/Savage Slash? I've only gone down once by myself, got owned (since i had no clue where the DNs were), and haven't had a chance to give it any work. Thoughts?

Balthazar's Spirit Now Adds more ENERGY depending on smiting points, might want to consider this in dropping EB.

Might be a glitch, I'm hoping it's not.

Yeah, they unpatched the patch or something like that. This change is not in effect.

I wasnt online for a protective bond run or 2 thru the FoW with my necro, it would have been great to clear 70%+ of fissure in one sitting with no worries about enchantment removal.

Smite hex is 15 secs recharge for us, but if the smites are anything like the shadow mesmers, they cheat.... so 10 is probably realistic

For ecto farming, I usually just trap, its relaxing and you can actually meet people although considerably slower, but I have done solo with my nec as well. Very nice work by the way Lych (and of course Kcp)!

Nice find lennymon, I'm not sure where I picked up 10 seconds from. I'd like top think they recently updated the skill but I'm probably just wrong. With 15 seconds in between casts, getting SS off without it being stripped really isn't very tough.
