Created Necromancer in prophecies...
My long-term plans are for a MM.
Which is more important for an MM?
Should I try to get 16 in Death Magic? Or should I put that in Death Magic instead?
Thank you in advance...

tbh minion masters are GREAT in the begining of the game but later lose thier power (especially with the order of undeath "buff") minion bombers are better. But if you are looking for more BIG DAMAGE!!!1!1!one! then you should be a curse necromancer if you want some builds(for when you get to level 20, not yet) you can look on pvxwiki.com
Have fun and happy gaming

Human MM's are unfortunately useless compared to hero MM's who can micro about 500 times better. I suggest [ss].

As a pure necro MM your points should be in death to make your minions as strong and long lasting as possible.
Enough points into Soul reaping so you don't run out of energy.
Then its down to the method you will use to heal your minions, blood of the master "death" is fine but you do have to sacrifice health to keep them going.
Using Monk heal area skills can work well but take care not to heal the enemy as well..
So all points in death and soul reaping or divert some of the sr points into alternative healing methods.

Thanks muchly for the advice, although some of the other Posters' suggestions that I should look into Curses look pretty valid too. Since I have all three expansions, maybe I'll go Curses, and let Olias, Master of Whispers, and Livia be the MMs...
In which case I'll still have to decide whether to put my 16 into Curses or SR..?
Gee, I'm full of questions today...
Again, thanks...

put them into curses. sr doesn't do much if you aren't killing things. you can max both anyways at 12 remember and then runes to put them higher.

Thanks for everything...
Edit; stupid me. I almost forgot to ask, what seems to be the best Secondary for a Necro in Prophecies?

Which seems to be all around best? Mesmer as secondary? or Monk as Secondary. Please bear in mind I'm thinking of being A Curse Necro...

Mesmer (imo).
Use [Arcane Echo] and get a second [Spiteful spirit] . With a large group of foes it is a thing of beauty to watch all those 35 to 37s in dmg rolling. You can use skills like [insidious parasite]
nice healing and damage)and maybe [Parasitic Bond] and some blood macic skills to keep health up. The Campfire in Guru forums has a wealth of info on all classes.
Good hunting

if u really wanna go mm...
then go mm
jus cuz its not as efficient in hm
hm will be a long while for ur nec yet
and jus cuz heroes can run mm's quite very well
doesnt mean u cant run one if u really want to
and switching in gw is a breeeeeeze
so u can change to curses quite easily at any point
so do go mm, if u enjoy it

I think you should proofread before hitting the submit button.
While Mesmer is a good choice as a secondary for a hexer....echoing SS is not as productive as it would seem. It's most useful for large groups....large groups of fairly tough mobs. Otherwise you end up feeling as though you're wasting energy when the second cast results in one cycle of damage before the target is dead. Of course if you don't have any elites yet then it may not matter. Sometimes a hard rez is more important than more hexes....especially when you're the only one left standing and you have escaped the wipe.

You're better off with a Monk secondary for several reasons.

My necro usually runs as a SS curses build and while I did use mesmer for the ability to quickly spam ss with arcane echo I wasn't happy.
Under ideal conditions its useful but we have so many other useful alternatives I wanted to try something else.
Yes if I have a tight packed group and put ss on 2 or more of the mob esp if they or I make them attack faster its a real fast killer.
But SS costs 15 energy and regens in 10 seconds
Arcane Echo also costs 15 and regens in 20 seconds its true it lets you have a second SS and maybe a 3rd but you have blown 45 energy fairly quickly and are unlikely to cycle that combo again any time soon.
Nowadays I find SS and Barbs and Mark of pain work almost as well.
Someone in the party is usually hitting them so barbs and mark of pain will do almost as well.
So I can choose whatever secondary class I want to

Since you can switch any time it doesn't really matter were you put your points now Just buy two head-pices, one with +4 curses and one with +4 death magic. And have fun testing all these builds.

In the end you're better off not limiting yourself to a single secondary, but for a 'poor man's build' starting in prophecies.. I'd take /Mo, I guess. You can get by the campaign easily with any semi-decent build, but go with curses and MoP+barbs if you want it to be a joke.
