its predictable in that there is only one left, you still have to find it on the battlefield thought (a pain in AB).
I just took it out for a spin in AB and its...weird, people ignore the minion and it can cause havoc while the master can heal other mms minions, de/buff.
Since you stay back and kinda look harmless it makes them OoU master a low profile target.

Try using a fiend with OoU and brutal weapon on it XD
Its a little portable cannon.

brutal doesn't stack with enchants
anyway, what is going to do more dmg on averange
1pimped minion OR 9 normal minions?
anyway in my opinion flesh golem is better than OoU'd vamp/fiend

I never mentioned using an enchantment and flesh golem has a terrible attack speed.

Maybe not so bad
In corpse heavly areas on a hero MM, you get one giant Minion Bomb if Death nova is on them, then one super charged tank minion.
When I used to run MM, just one flesh golem would help out alot.
Here is my thought...
Bring 10 minions to battle. My hero MM has Death Magic at 15, so get your 10 meat shields into battle (assume MM has death nova on all) and then manually hit Order of undeath. At 15 death magic that would be 9 explosions of 100 damage, plus poision...
Now create new minions with the corpses and let the Super minion + poision mop up the survivors...
I am excited to try this on Master of Whispers.

People don't seem to quite understand how useful the OoU has become for low-level (and even maybe higher-level) PvP. No, it's not too bloody great in PvE. But the point is that it allows for even harder bar compression.
Some person asks, "what's better, one mega-minion or 9 more normal?" He forgets that you need to raise those minions first. With OoU, you raise one. It never dies. Well, almost never. You don't heal it. OoU heals it. You don't sac for him. No need.
In essence you get away with bringing just two skills: OoU+<minion spell of choice>
Examples (not very optimized but bear with me):
N/Rt Healer With Bodyguard
[build prof=n/rt deathm=10+1+3 soulr=10+1 resto=11][order of undeath][animate bone fiend][weapon of warding][mend body and soul][soothing memories][Recovery][Protective was Kaolai][flesh of my flesh][/build]
N/E AB Tag Team Death Nuker
[build prof=N/E deathm=12+1+3 soulr=11+1 air=6][storm djinn's haste][order of undeath][animate vampiric horror][rising bile][putrid bile][fetid ground][gale][well of suffering][/build]
Etc... many possibilities.

After giving the skill some more consideration, I'm thinking of using it on my Rt/N just for fun/experimentation. I'm wondering if [signet of binding] + [brutal weapon] or [sundering weapon] could be an effective combo. Again, just for PvE fun...
Whoops...how could I forget about [Great Dwarf Weapon]?

Brutal works better than sundering. The skill was much better for pve beforehand though.
It is definatly a more pvp gimmick oriented skill now.

Well, I think Moloch and Carinae have hit the nail on the head before I got to it. A-net completely buggered this one up. OoU is completely ruined for PvE use. They should have applied this change to PvP only using their much-touted PvE/PvP split.
I urge anyone who cares about their necro to raise hell on this issue. Hopefully a-net will see the light and revert it.

I seriously wasn't thrilled with the change.
Now tbh - I really don't care about it.
It creates a PvP gimmick and it nerfs PvE MMs.
I don't care about the gimmick but the nerf to the MMs was needed. They could have chosen a better way but since it seems that they won't nerf necros - something is better then nothing.

Dumb Idea, what if they rework [Verata's Sacrifice] to do what OoUD used to do(though maybe toned down a little, or with an increased sac on each hit) I seriously don't think anyone would miss the old VS function...

Just noticed it kind of goes against what a minion master takes advantage of: high death magic allows for more minions.
You it it to be high to have a good minion buff, but you'll still have only one :s
No random damage or barbs triggering like in shitway, no meat shield...
I really don't see the advantage. Plus minions are kinda dumb

I suspect that ANet nerfed OOU because it can be too powerful, especially if you add Barbs and Mark of Pain into it. Now it is like a pet, which is nice if you like bringing a Pet like a ranger, here is my cute (i.e. ugly but adorable) little vampiric horror, Freddy!

I hope they atleast change it into 2 versions 1 for pvp 1 for pve. For pve they could atleast add like 10...20...30 armor and maybe make it so "while this skill is in effect minion has no degen but an additional 10regen" so that you could just keep up that one minion forever so it would actually have a use for an area where theres single digit amount of corpses.

Calista all he was saying was that now that elite is basically like bringing a ranger pet. Not having to worry much about healing it, it getting +damage and being basically the equivalent to a ranger pet dps without any of the cool attack skills that would be helpful.
