Simple question : What are the difference between sabway and discordway? Be it power, flexibility, defense...
I liked the concept of sab and discord looks boring, but some friends told me they prefered Disway.

Best possible way for you to really know would be to try them out. Then go from there.

I prefer Discord in HM and sabway in NM, as discord is powerful, but by the time you set it up right in NM the enemies are already dead.

Sabway
------
lots of defense
suited for all professions
does not require player participation
6 hero sabway is twice as effective
Discordway
------------
heavy damage spikes
lots of heals and prots
suited more for casters
versitle
works best with leader calling/marking targets
6 hero discordway is 5 times as effective and 10 times as versitle

I tried both (playing as a monk). Discordway is much faster but you are more attacking and not using any healing / prot skills. When things go wrong there is no way out. With Sabway you can still red bar and try to keep everybody up and running.

Sabway: 3-hero teambuild designed for vanquishing 4-man areas. Somewhat outdated. Not at all optimal for 8-man areas, but people frequently use it for that anyway.
Discordway: 3-or-6 hero build designed for vanquishing. Very reliable, but mediocre, damage output. Very easy/foolproof to use since the heroes do almost all of the work. Not at all optimal for anything, but frequently used for everything.

I feel Discordway has more of a backbone. Although Sabway could work wonders in right situation, I felt it wasn't anywhere nearly as effective against spreadout clumps. Also, not having a direct source of damage really blows if the minion army isn't built. I think getting 3 spammable damage skills is a huge bargain for giving up SS, JB, and WoR.

As a monk, I prefer Discordway because it allows me to do something other than heal for a change. Also all you really need on the heroes is discord, because you are providing the condition and hex, which makes it much more versatile than Sabway, because you have 7 open slots to be filled depending on the challenge at hand.

the only time i have ever been able to clear FoW with 6 heroes was when i used discordway. I modified it a bit to offer more versatility and found that nobody gave me any problems. lol hexes and conditions would not last longer than a couple seconds on any of my party members. My fastest clear time for FoW heroway in HM is now 1 hr and 33 minutes.

the only place where i had any trouble was in the burning forest. apparently [[you move like a dwarf] will not interrupt the [[meteor shower] so it might be a good idea to try to squeeze in gwen with [[visions of regret] or [[tease]..
remember that this is 7 casters that make up a full team, so keep heroes flagged apart when building up minion army.

Sabway is generally slower and less powerful.Regarding flexibility your bars are generally set to bomber/SS/healer and offers no real defense ie: [[ward against elements] [[ward against foes]but with discord you can afford a N/Mo or N/E with prots/wards and some other goodies.
You can add extra utility into sabway but with discord the bars are far more free and customisable imo.
Or in simple terms
Sabway: Aggro mob and make coffee while stuff dies (probably)
Discordway: 3-2-1 explode

Why not mix and match? Or is the synergy just not there?
Maybe take your main resto-sab specced hero, and trade out the elite (usually WoR) for discord. And throw a minion spell in there and trade that out with foul feast. Run 10+1+1 death, 8+1 soul reaping, and 12 resto.
And maybe on your MM/mo you trade infuse condition out for putrid bile. Especially in areas with little to no conditions being hande out. They really shouldn't be getting many conditons on them anyway. Especially if you also trade out their foul feast and throw a cure hex on the bar. So they would have jagged bones (E), shambling horror, bone fiend, putrid bile, death nova, cure hex, protective spirit, and sig of lost souls. With attributes of 15 death, 11 SR, 6 healing, and 6 prot. I havent bothered too much with it. But a few of those spells on sabway were optional to begin with and people mix and match them as it is.
With your healer throwing out a little support, and a few minions here and there the need for healing is dimished even more. That's why discord builds don't worry too much about healing on their heroes because stuff dies planty fast enough for a couple henchie healers to handle it. But if you only wantone healer hench then swaying too far fromthe resto secondary can hurt you but by the looks discord fits right in and probably outwieghs the WoR which from what i can tell they don't cast correctly anyway.

If the player is a Necromancer you can fill the curses role in sabway and bring condition spamming spells to provide reliable discord setup. Then just add 1 or 2 MMs and as many discord spammers as you can, as long as between them they have enough skills for a backline.

Being a necro player I bring IV and a putrid bile +condition spamming and run discord heros. I've run both and Discord is by far the most effective and customizable. It makes hard mode seem like Normal Mode. Great for grabbing vanqs etc.
But like some others said. Run it and really decide for yourself.

Yes, it does. It gets the job done, but there are far, far faster ways to kill mobs. I'm kinda tired of repeating myself over and over again on this point, so please use the search function if you want a longer explanation.

Lawl at mediocre damage output. i cast 1-2 (micro heroes) then 3 and target is dead. Minions to damage while doing that so over time of attacking a mob killing gets easier as their health is lower. if you are microing with Discordway then you will have no troubles damaging. Sabway i used for a while but i found Discord way for fun. Although if you wish to run a balanced style team the the sab necro works wonders with a tease mesmer, and a N/Rt. Just a IMO tho. I reccomend trying both and modifying them to your needs

sorry, in case you didnt know. 500+ armor ignoring damage spikes every 3 seconds is less than mediocre.
after you add the 100+ armor ignoring AoE Explosions from [[putrid bile] and [[death nova] your damage output gets an upgrade from "less than mediocre" to just "mediocre"
/endsarcasm
