I am not a hard core player or anything. I'm just a former fire ele who got bored with the nuking. I rerolled necro for the minions, but boy did I underestimate the class! I am amazed by the versatility and sheer fun of the necro. Honestly minions are the least of it. Currently I am SS and having a blast!

What inspires you to play your necro? Did you find your build by accident? Are you as crazy about necros as I am?

I LOVE NECROS for their SS and blood spiking, wells, and AOE curses... i used to love being a MM before the death magic nerf where there's a minion limit now... blah.. the good ol' days. well.. now i'm more into alternative builds besides MM.. SS still being a classic skill or spoil victor...

Necros, theyre fun to play, they have many kind of skills for differend uses, Soul reaping is awesome. and they look nice.

Due those reasons nec is my main character

The first class that I've played in GW. Their overall feel is what lured me at first. The models design and animation like the casting animation are all top notch. Only after getting to know the class and being more experienced with the game did I understand the versatility this class offers. It almost never gets boring.

After a long break from the class and the game I've decided to reroll my old necro. He's now a Factions character and I'm having a great time playing a necro, yet again. The minion cap doesn't bother me much because if I run a MM then I take OoU so having more than 10 minions would be suicide. Any other MM build is to boring for a human being.

So I guess the reason I love playing a necro doesn't lie only in the relatively high gameplay options, but also that I really enjoy all of these options; midline debuffer, Orders bitch (I'm starting to like this role as well, weird), Minion Master and even on some occasions a direct damage dealer. Furthermore, the appearance of the class has a great role in why I enjoy it, it's armors and it's character models all seem to be precisely my taste.

Overall, it's the perfect class for me.

My second character, and still my main, is a Necro (my first was a Warrior to learn the game mechanics).

Minion Master (Shambling and Bone Minions) with a hero to make minon bombs. Add Discord (condition from Jagged Horrors) and Well of Suffering and you have one hell of a combo.

First, and after a year, only character I have is a necro. Friend told me they were saught after, and polyvalent. How true ^^

I prefer SS for its AoE, but can run basic MM builds fairly well. Need to work on 55ing and MBing :\

[Mark of Pain] is just too damn powerful for me to want to run any other character.
Not to mention the various other Curses skills or support options a necromancer can run with Soul Reaping.
Being an [Order of Undeath] Minion master is fun too.

Two words: Soul Reaping.

I hate playing other casters now because they seem to take so long to recharge their magicness.

Also they look cool, and are ridiculously versatile. Load up different skills, move some attribute points around, and suddenly you've practically got a new character. ^_^ Also it was a nice change from the usual standard fantasy game classes. We've all played warriors and sorcerers before, but how many have pulled a corpse from the dead?

Necros are just awesome blood spikes, wells, curses, and so many other thing, its quickly becoming my main character.

running [[mark of pain] and [[barbs] with an assassin hero and a dervish is godly. Throw in [[Spiteful spirit] and [[rigor mortis] and you are golden.

using [[spoil victor] to farm bosses and use 1hp BiP to abuse it like crazy.

being a minion master running [[jagged bone] or [[aura of the lich] or [[order of undeath] and sometimes even the good ol' [[animate flesh golem].

you gotta love it :P

well heres why i am a necro..

well my first acc i got after playing for 2 years i always played a war. just because was my first character. Then i created a ele which pwnd.

But then here is the shocking part.

IT GOT HACKED!!

so then bought all the games again. i really got into rangers and monks.

then got my first account bak and felt like i played every other class except necros.. and since then ive been a necro using SS and Discord. Necros never get boring aswell

Guild Wars has other character classes besides Necro? Wow. I feel bad for them.

Hmmm, learn something every day.

How can you NOT love a class that can equip armor that looks like a bikini wrapped in barbed wire, black feathers on the otherwise bare hands and feet, and burning candles in your headpiece, ensuring that you never run out of hot wax?

For the sheer versatility, the yellow numbers seen while employing various PvE skills, Assasins Promise (deny it all you want, this IS the best necro elite availible).

For Elite Scar with a Dread Mask and obs bottom half while wielding a serrated spear and a tormy offhand, for random strangers whispering you to tell you "Dude, your necro looks sick".

For not running Discordway (nice spike, but overly praised).
For realizing sabway is even worse than discord.

For teaching me the real mechanics of the game.

Unfortunately i don't run my necro as a main, as much as i love it, there are people in my guild i can never hope to match when playing as one (points at both Moloch and Xenos). I know the basics, in fact i am a very good nec, but if i ever match them ill be a happy man.

For teaching me humility.

A) Someone who doesn't like Caster-types

B) A Complete Moron

C) Overlooking GW's most flexible Primary Profession

necro was the second class I ever really got into, I started out with rits and I still have a soft spot for them but I guess you could say after a while I just went completely over to the dark side.

The promise of controlling hordes of minions and the undeniably awesome style were what drew me in first and I later stayed for the unparalleled flexibility and sheer power.

this is so true, I've started habitually carrying [blood ritual] when I do things with my friends who play ele's. On the flipside you could say playing as necro all the time has made me a bit impatient in that respect but seriously I don't get how these people lose 80 energy in one 1 minute fight, they use their attunements and such but they always seem to ping their energy and proceed to sit there while I'm ready to slaughter the next mob. (fortunately if I've got heroes tied to me I don't even need their energy intensive assess most of the time

)
