I want to know if a necromancer can spirit spam well. I wanted to make a ritualist character just to be a spirit spammer, but I'm not sure. I think necromancer can spirit spam just as well as a ritualist, if not better, because of soul reaping.

Perhaps a build with rit + necromancer mix.

I was originally a MM, but because of only 8 minion-restriction, I found it a little boring. I'll try curse, but I can't find a suitable build. For now I'll stay spirit spamming. It's really easy.

They'll be slightly weaker because you don't have runes or spawning, but yeah you can spam spirits all you want with pretty much any class. Though with the newly buffed spirit siphon, Signet of Spirits calling up 3 free spirits, and stuff like boon of creation, rits got a whole lot more energy efficient lately.

Also IIRC it's 2 minions to start with and 1 for every 2 levels of death magic :http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Minion

So if you can get your Atts up that high(with AotL, Masochism, and a blessing or consumable) you can get up to 12 level 20+ nowdays.

Yes they can spirit spam very effectively I have been running a spirit spam necro just for a change from normal necro builds.

Mainly I use it to do the nicholas the traveller quests as my necro has covered all of the game map areas, so can more easily farm whatever he wants.

You get weaker spirits but spare points into soul reaping gives you a good energy return.

I am told ele works well too but haven't tried it yet

You can spam any spirits in any class you want. Spirits do amazing amounts of damage. All you need to worry about is energy.

A Necromancer can spirit spam quite easily. Signet of Spirits is a good elite for this purpose along with Bloodsong and Spirit Siphon and using some rit heroes with defensive and some offensive spirits from the Communing line is quite effective.

And use a Superior rune when MMing. 12+1+3 lets you use 10 minions. Add Masochism for 11.

As everyone else has said, you can definitely use a necro as a Spirit Spammer. Like most I use mine for farming the Nick items but I've also used it for doing solo vanquishing in the lower levels of all three campaigns. I use the wikia build listed above with the following changes:

Agony (Channeling Magic) or Ebon Sniper Support in place of Shadowsong
Hexer's Vigor (Soul Reaping) in place of Spiritleach
and Ebon Assassin as my optional

This allows me to have only Channeling Magic and Communing skills from the Ritualist line and I can bump up my Soul Reaping more (also use a 2+1). This allows Hexer's Vigor to provide +6 regen. Using Agony seems to work better with large attacking groups since it deals -9 damage to all (though it will die quicker). Sniper Support is good for those cases when you need to kill something with a single arrow, such as a healer, though you may have to hit them multiple times. This definitely isn't a fast acting build but it does provide alot of entertainment. When your health goes down it Hexer's Vigor to regen but remember that casting another spell will end it.
