ritualist for filler skills (not sure if i would use it for energy management as it seems ritualist skills take a while to cast). I would still stick with blessed sig for a filler energy management skill.

Hey uuum, I'm not understanding why 55 monks are so good. Sure they can use protective spirit and then they almost won't die if they heal. But in the Random Arenas, I killed one with poison and distracting shot. Also an elementalist can use crystal wave and the monk is doomed (but very unlikely to meet one of those eles). Then there's always the faithful mesmer who piss me off too. So if the monk can be beat by being degened and being hit by crystal wave and be killed by mesmers, what's the point?

55's-pve based for farming uw....
Poisen doesn't always rape 55's such as in Wizards folly by Port sledge I always get poisened or disrupted on SoJ but kinda hard to interrupt breeze or ps. And if you are in pvp you should maybe bring Mesmer stance.. or balanced stance.

Oh yea I can own Iway zasihen at Zasihen challenge with some easy timing all monk skills.

Yeah, i understand that it's pretty good against the monsters, but some people bring it too the arenas though. I also had a 55 monk at abbadon's mouth at the ring of fire, she was not very good. She didn't live. We had to fight with the other monk till it was clear, then we ress sigged her. Luckily she died only twice giving her a 30% penalty at most which probably went down.

55 monking is made for pve and anyone who uses it for pvp probably isn't thinking straight. As for using the 55 for pve, not ALL area's can be farmed with a 55 monk. Especially those areas rich in mesmer/necro monsters that can strip-enchant or use rend-enchant in which case you can only use spell breaker meaning you will lose the ability to use SoJ.

If a 55 monk is infused they can hold around 8 jades so I've tested but I always get spiked by the jade bows if I am not careful.

I don't like many 55's myself most of them are farming noobs anyways but what can you do everyone wants easy money.

I have a monk that actually has most of the skills people have been talking about, so I thought I might try this out (just need some money for the runes...booo). I was wondering what some good places to farm were. I can do grenth's and sorrows with 4-5 npcs and i usually get a green or two out of each run, but if i could solo it that would rock. Is it possible to solo underworld too(and btw is underworld now considered the place you go by entering the portal at tombs?... it has been a while since i played and i totally missed what is going on with that). Lastly, can this same technique of 55 hp and protective spirit be used on a necro?

Any pointers are appreciated. Thanks.

no, the one in tombs is generally refered to as "TOPK" or "Tomb of the Primeval Kings", people called it "new uw" for a little while, but it's not, and it's rarely called that now.

Ok, well I don't really have anyone I can farm with atm (other than npc), so where are some places that I can solo. Like I said I like to run grenth's and sorrows. Is that doabe? Any other good places?

Well everyone should be warned with many farming spots nerfed.. soon to be uw I can feel it along with 55's and protective spirit is due for a nerf. All 55's protest these new patches!! Everyone protest these new patches once Factions is out they will just ditch reg. gw in 1 month and everything well be messed up..

Just my two cents of rambling.

rangersaurus- Nope wont be able to solo grenths to many hexes /necro skills out there that will rape you, almost every 55 farms meele monsters not hex ones.

unless your leet with sb and I know thats impossible to have sb up always.

Trolls, minotaurs, tundra giants,ettins pretty much any meele monster and I've done jade farming before you must be (infused)

If you truly want to SOLO, do it in FoW. Solo UW takes way too long with any build to be worth it. fow can be done quickly with an n/mo, although it's very difficult. 2man UW is the only efficient UW farm that I'm aware of.

Imo: n/mo or mo/n it can also be done with a warrior but I've never tried that out before (nor the necro build).

Basicly the mo/n uses SS and takes a long time since it has to deal with the nightmare's rend.

As for who created the 55...a very smart person

mo/w ususally the *warrior secondary for warrior skill used is bonneties.. not sprint really not use.

I've been a mo/w soj /bonettis 55 for a while and recently tried mo/n with Ss
but after the recent updates it's pretty annoying to even get a Ss cast off let
alone do uw efficiently with any class now solo.

I have 2 necros and 2 55's on american and euro (Im uk based) and do regular
2 man runs but Omg! i may not be the best 55 or ss in the world but im far from
being a "google" build finder, if anyone has a 55 and needs a partner then just
gimme a shout in game, i so need some experience right now.

Yes it will work fine, Personaly i use lions arch tattoos for my 55's!
just because it was cheap and after remaking all 7 of my characters
i didnt want to spend a small fortune on 8 & 15k armours again, .

Any armour will work as a 55! but the more energy you have the better
really, armour level isnt a factor because protective spirit is your defence.

People choose tats because it has slightly more energy and that is pretty
much the only reason why, i like the look/s and the energy though, .

Remember though, if you use your monk for regular heal /protect gaming
make sure you have a proper spare set of non 55 armour, or people will flip
if you go into battle with them as a 55hp monk, ...
