Could I get away with using a set of Wanderer's instead of a set of Droknar's Ascetics for farming trolls? The +7 energy doesn't seem like it would make a huge difference because of the energy gain from Bonetti's Stance and Balthazar's Spirit...
(It's really ugly)

As said so many times before, it isn't necessary to wear ascetic, but other than look theres no reason not to, and it will help you. If you absolutely don't want to then don't, no one will stop you, but the extra energy will be nice to have if you do get it.

It's not that we're against answering "noob" questions as you call them, it's just that we'd like everyone to actually make an effort to find the answers on their own before resorting to posting here.

Remember, your aim is to bring your health as low as possible, therefore don’t use a superior vigor. The ascetic set will give you a nice energy bonus, you shouldn’t be wearing anything else, since armor does not matter at all with this build (you’ll be taking 5 damage per hit whether you have ascestic or censor/judge’s).

This is what everyone recommends, if you think it's too ugly and you think you can get away with not using it then why not give it a shot? Whether or not you can survive with 7 less energy is completely dependant on how skilled you are as a 55hp monk, so no one but you can answer that question.

Jw, is there any reason to use a +1 healing Prayers scalp w/ this build?
I seem to find the DFavor and Smiting ones as the only useful ones(for 2man UW/solo)

Whatever your point allocation is, the highest one should be what scalp you're using. In UW, I run 14-16 divine favor (depending on my mood) so I run with a divine scalp. For solo farming builds using smiting, +1 smiting would likely be the best.
The +1 healing 'could' be used if you're going to run 13 healing on a SS build, although the odds that you'd ever do that are slim

i have a white dyed monk 15k grotto... for everything i do as healer/protector/bonder/or in town stuff.
but for the sup runes i applyed em on my tatoos.
happened to me that i was drained, gettin hit, prot spirit was dying, the necro with SV was sleeping, and the moment that my +1 reg got to 10e, my spirit was on its last blink, but i was lucky i got 1 second to cast it again... sometimes the +7 saves, cuz without it i would have only 3 e at the moment i descrived, and woud die....

Yes tats. are proven to help alot when you need it. I think we all sometimes have those times.
EDIT!!! I edited from page to have some armor weapon and other gear and skills on front page to add to the FAQ.

My Mon/Mes build for troll farming, works fine against trolls avicara's and giants and good for any Mon/???
1. Heal breeze
2. Protective Spirit
3. SoJ
4. Vigorous Spirit
5. Zealouts Fire
6. Essence Bond
7. Mending
8. Blessed Aura
Heal-----10
Prot-----11
Smite----16 (scalp)
Divine----11
interrupts should be rare with SoJ. Cast SoJ>PS>HB before you aggro any giants. Don't get too close to Avicara Wise (use wand to finish off if braves dead) and stay away from Guiles. With VS you only need to use HB against large groups of trolls and its much better to spam on the mana at only 5 and makes your melee weap more useful. Always use HB for Avicara Fierce but SoJ and their dual shot should sort em out quick enough. and i only have tats arms, full tats would be advised for UW but def not needed for trolls n minataurs etc. I know we're meant to be doing trolls but i don't like the way the others look at me sometimes
Oh and i would def advise you get a FFS weap, its so nice when it drops on your SoJ and its recharged before it runs out.

Actually, when solo, i find that if it gets a little heavy its a good tactic to AoE them with ZF to give me the second or two i need to get back to full strength.
For instance, if my heal breeze gets interrupted, i spam a VS and PS to AoE them and keep spamming VS until my HB comes back, with the VS providing the health i need to keep going.

Question, I read the the guide that it is best to but all the superior runes on your armour and the extra on your scalp. What should the extra one be? Some superior rune of lets say elem water magic for 100g? or does it have to be a monk rune?

The cheapest one is the normal option. Pesonally i like to match the final rune to the scalp. For instance if using a Smite scalp put a superior smite on it. Then if you need to change armour for health management, change the one with the smite rune on it (this must not be the same as your vigour armour) to give you your health without affecting your attributes. Changing armour is something you should rarely need to do, but may come in handy for your initial training period. If you go for the cheapest option such as the Protection rune, again, you would need to make sure your Sup Prot Armour is not the same as your vigour.

Same here, I use 2 divines, but it's all personal preference really, it just depends on what you do other than 55ing

I saw on a post that you have to have a grim cesta for offhand that is -50 Health and that you get it from a quest in Ascalon. Well I did get the quest but I accidentaly sold the Grim Cesta 0_o. Can I not be a 55 monk now? Or do I just need the superiour runes for the armor+Scalp.

You will need a offhand that is -50 health.. since that is the soul purpose of the 55 (health monk) to reduce as much dmg as it can...
So yes try to get your hand on another one but for the time you can get a -20 health one easily but don't go UW with it but you can still solo farm o.k

Tons of people try to sell these. you can find them from 2-10k, depending on where you shop and who you find, or you can simply create a new player and do the quest shouldn't take too long.
