Well i'm a Mo/Me, so that i'll be able to play invicimonk and inspirational healer, so bonetti's is not an option for me. I'm curious how these two setups stand up to the group opinion, one for solo and then a second for 2 man, then perhaps another if you would suggest a different one based on other group setups. This is a non-area specific build, therefore I understand it would have to be tweaked slightly in certain areas.
Solo
1. Shield of Judgment
2. Zealot's Fire
3. Protective Spirit
4. Balthazar's Spirit
5. Essence Bond
6. Healing Breeze
7. Mending
8. ?
Two Man or ?
1. Healing Breeze
2. Mending
3. Balthazar's Spirit
4. Essence Bond
5. Power Drain
6. ?
7. ?
8. ?
Again, I apologize for all the questions. Although i'm still trying to learn the basics of this build

Well Lurid you can always change to warrior in the desert
Here are some choices for mesmer. (Stared ones should be your first choice)
UW Solo
*Power Spike
*Sympathetic Visage
Power drain is o.k. for soloing but if you get 2 nightmares you might be screwed up either way, some people get around it but I find 2 nightmares very hard to kill.
2 man UW
*Spell breaker
Blessed Signet
***Protective Spirit!!!

Do you guys think that I would be better off with a Mo/W instead of a Mo/Me? If so then i'll go about changing my secondary. I'm just curious, since it (atleast looks this way) seems like I would have more options with a Mo/Me, which is why I chose it.

For strictly 2man UW, mo/w is hands down the way to go (although Avarre would disagree .)
For solo projects, you can go mo/me or mo/n (or even mo/e) depending on what you're farming.

Ok so the important stuff =
Nightmare stopping
An evade mod to tank more
Monks use spellbreaker and bonetti's usually, and that's about as effective as it gets... spellbreaker isn't really needed (I can hold against mindblades usually without it) but it helps a huge amount and allows safer aggro as well as tanking of multiple caster mobs.
If you ran Mo/Me, you could use Shield of Deflection and Power drain, which has the advantage of being possible to cast through making you quite totally invulnerable as primary monk, but you'll be weaker against casters as drain is single target.
For duoing, either is acceptable and possible. Mo/Me can also bring their own SV, although it won't be that strong... that allows your necro to have hard res as N/Mo. I'd go with Mo/W if you're duoing as monk primary, though.

Well i'm back again, after obtaining all of my skills and testing thoroughly against Hydras, Minotaurs, and Griffons. My build seems to do a good job of not only keeping me alive but also of killing the enemy. Though I am having a few issues, that i'm looking for opinions on.
I have a bad habit of "over-casting" wherein i'm not physically managing my energy reserves efficiently enough. On the occasions I do this i'll have say 12 energy w/ low HP and i'll cast a quick Breeze to catch my life. Which is fine and good unless i'm not able to make the energy up fast enough and my Protective Spirit runs out.... Although this doesn't happen alot i've opted to add a Blessed Signet, into my skill lineup in order to counter act it when it happens. I'm curious if you guys / gals think I should just forget it, and pay more attention to not making this mistake, or that I should keep it.
Then, the other thing i'm having happen is against groups mainly 3 or more, I have absolutely zero problems. Its only whenever one is left that I have issues, since it takes me forever to kill that one and I often have to cast SoJ just to kill one. I'm thinking that I should just try to wand them to death, and avoid the over use of SoJ, due to the exuberant recharge time. Perhaps this or adding something else to deal more damage. I dislike Zealot's though, as the enemy always thinks its AoE and runs or forces me to spam spells with little effect at the time.
Currently the build is:
1. Shield of Judgement
2. ==> Suggestions? / Mantra of Resolve (while facing interrupters like trolls)
3. Protective Spirit
4. Blessed Aura
5. Balthazar's Spirit
6. Blessed Signet
7. Healing Breeze
8. Mending
w/o Resolve
Healing - 10
Smiting - 15
Protection - 10
Divine Favor - 12
w/ Resolve
Inspiration - 6
Healing - 9
Smiting - 15
Protection - 10
Divine Favor - 12
Again, sorry for all the questions and lengthy post, i'm just trying to better understand the build in general aswell as to avoid using the exact same lineup. When that possible, lol.
EDIT - Also, with this i'm able to achieve the max health regeneration, 3 + 7, and I also have 50% longer enchantments. Making my SoJ roughly 30 seconds, and my Prot Spirit roughly 25 seconds. That is assuming my math is correct. I'm not sure if its just my play style, or i'm doing things wrong, so please be gentle =P

Troll farming
Hi, i just got my 55 mo beginning of the week. so far i've been farming bulls and have no trouble at all. but then i read tsunami's post and decided that troll farming would be good practice for the UW.
Only problem is that is keep getting intrupted. PS has no problem since the casting time is 1/4 sec. but HB is a sec. I realize that i put bonettis on at the same time. but sometimes i still get intrupted. when i do, the recharge time is 30 secs and hb only lasts 13 secs with my enchantments
sry about the trouble. but im really confused Thanks

Although it's rare, it happens sometimes (getting interrupted with bonetti's on). My suggestion is to time your breezes. Watch when the trolls attack and when they are knocked down by SoJ cast up breeze.
--edit--
Also, if your breeze does go down for 30 sec, remember that you can keep spamming ps every time the trolls attack (since the divine bonus still goes into effect).

For troll farming i use:
Spirit
Breeze
SOJ
Arcane echo
Mending
Balth spirit
Essence bond
Mantra of resolve.
Interruption is not an issue
PS: Echo mending ftw!

If you're just trying to avoid interupt, cast PS, then bonettis, then breeze (before bonettis ends,) then PS again after a few seconds, then bonettis, and then breeze. Rince, Repeat as necessary.

Ok so i read through most of those links and most of this thread but couldn't find my answers hopefully i didn't miss it but here goes
1) How much gold should i be expecting to spend on a full fledged 55 hp monk? with runes droks/la armour and THE CESTA.
2) just a curiosity how long does it take the average 55hp monk to clear the majority of the mountain trolls out of the talus chute cave?

Talus chute maybe 7 mins.
Cesta-3k-5k
Runes- always 2k less than trader monk runes are around 11k right now being highest cost for rune
Parchment-75g each or you can craft your own with wood at salldec so armor maybe 10k tops if you go la.
19% enchant mod for sword 17k I think.
skills-1k each. + soj which is kinda hard cap.
Hope that helps.

thanks much.
if it is 7 mins i think i might just keep my uw and troll farming across seperate characters (uw trap and w/mo trolls about 2-4 mins)
i think i might wait for factions and try a 55 hp assasin even
55hp monking seems to me any way alot of money to spend just to make money well atleast for me who doesnt play more than 2 hours a day

you'll get your money back fast with a 55 monk (idk how fast now but back when there were griffons you could make your money back pretty fast).
