PvP (4x4) monk advice?
I've been doing PvP monk'ing the last 3 days (in RA) and I was hoping for some advice.
I believe, Divine 14 Prot 10 Insp 10 No superior runes. (based on 200pts)
Build I use:
RoF
Mend Ailment
Gaurdian
CoP
Mantra of Recall
Divine Boon
Inspired Hex (or Holy Veil)
Signet of Devotion
i've actually had a 12+ streak, so I am not completely crap (and it ended because one of my teammates had to leave). I have faced e-denial mesmers and have switched to my -5 e off hand weapon and handled the e-denial with ease. I have faced heavy hexes and gotten more familiar with the varying hexes and have handles those as well. I have faced shadow shroud and have learned to deal with limited healing.
The one thing I continue to struggle with is when Assasins combo me to death. I toss on gaurdian and try to spam RoF or CoP to stay alive, but it seems that once the combo begins i am as good as dead. I also attempt to kite, but I seem frozen in place. Not sure why.
I have no tats except for feet, I have sup vigor rune, i have no other sup or major runes, so my health is at about 530 i believe. Any tips or tricks to handling the assasins would be appreciated. My gaurdian I think is at 42% btw. Should I up my protection? Should I add another skill? Or is it simply that I lack experience, and simply need practice?
Any positive input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance =)

grab drain enchant, and drain their Aura of Displacement
but on a more serious note: drop Guardian for Protective Spirit. PS + RoF spams will certainly keep you alive. PS also helps against spike eles, warriors, etc.
and Guardian is rather crappy at 10 prot... only a 40% chance to block.

Leave guardian, don't spam it when you're getting spiked you only need to cast it once and it'll surely mess up the assassins combo. I find that if I'm getting spiked, I can basically 'infuse' myself by casting guardian, rof, then CoP right away. That causes a massive self heal, and I can follow that up with boon and another rof, which is almost always enough to keep me alive through even heavy spikes. I recommend taking mend condition instead of ailment for 4v4, since you're the only condition removal on your team, and blind is EXTREMELY popular in TA, and if you only have mend ail, your melee will be blind the whole match. Also, I would drop sig of devotion for holy veil, so you have that and inspired hex. It's still not enough to counter mass-hex teams, but it's enough to pull a nasty hex and its cover off an ally (such as spiteful + p.bond, a common combo, or backfire+mind wrack.)
I recommend running a sup divine, I run 16 divine 9 prot 10 inspiration, but that's personal preference. I also run acolytes chest and legs, and ascetic feet and arms, since you rarely get hit on either.

That's horrible advice. Against an assassin guardian is your best defence, as it disrupts their chain.

Well, I've gone on several 10+ streaks since my initial post. I have found Gaurdian to be my best friend vrs. assasins and knockdown warriors. I think my inexperience was offsetting my timing a bit. Thank you for your sound advice.
Incidentally prot spirit doesn't work against assasin combos, the dmg per hit doesn't exceed 10% of my life, it's just a non stop barrage that adds up quickly. Though, prot spirit certainly has its benefits, esp. agianst an ele spike.

I still hate guardian...
Irresistible > Guardian
but thank you for your opinion. Yesterday I ran a thumper with irresistible and constant guardian spammage on the other team allowed me to interrupt a ritualist spirit spammer countless times.
to each his own.

But every time Guardian makes a Warrior miss his Eviscerate, an angel grows its wings.

LOL!! Yes, as far as 4x4 goes, I'll pick Guardian over PS almost everytime (different story in HA). And as Sno mentioned, there's always room for Holy Veil...

Just because it has a counter doesn't mean it sucks... If a smart monk sees irresistable being thrown around (or even just sees a thumper or hammer war,) then he'll kite and spam rof instead of guardian. Your argument is the same as saying "I hate hexes because hex removals > hexes."
