55 Elona Farming
Ok. A lot of people call the monk with 55 health invinci-monk or 55 hp monk. You can call it whatever you want but here I will just be using "55 monk". And the 55 monk that I am talking about is Mo/W. First before you do anything else, you should get the quest "Cities of Ascalon" from Symon the Scribe in Ascalon. You need to have beaten the quests "Defending the wall" and "counting the fallen". After you beat the quest and you go back to Symon the Scribe he will give you a Grim Cesta that is required for the 55 monk. It takes -50 health from you.
Then you need to go somewhere (I went to Droknar's Forge) and get 5 Superior monk runes. There are only four. So, you have to buy the Prot. rune, the healing rune, the divine favor rune, smitting rune, and then one more of either of them. Put one on every piece of armor you have. With what the prices are right now, it will cost you about 41k to get all 5 runes.
Skills
Ok, for skills you want to use these:
Blessed Signet
Signet. For each Enchantment you are maintaining, you gain 3 Energy, maximum (Min: 3 - Max: 24).
Healing Breeze
Enchantment. For 10 seconds, target ally gains +(Min: 3 - Max: 9) Health regeneration.
Protective Spirit
Enchantment. For (Min: 5 - Max: 23) seconds, target ally cannot lose more than 10% max Health due to damage from a single attack or Spell.
Shield of Judgment (Elite)
Elite Enchantment. For (Min: 8 - Max: 20) seconds, anyone striking target ally with an attack is knocked down and suffers (Min: 5 - Max: 50) damage.
Sprint
Stance. For 8 seconds, you move 25% faster.
Zealot's Fire
Enchantment. For 60 seconds, whenever you use a skill on an ally, all foes adjacent to your target are struck for (Min: 5 - Max: 35) fire damage.
Balthazar's Spirit
Enchantment. While you maintain this Enchantment, target ally gains adrenaline and Energy after taking damage.
Mending
Enchantment. While you maintain this Enchantment, target ally gains Health regeneration of +(Min: 1 - Max: 4).
Sprint can be changed with something else. But depending on where you are farming, sprint could come in handy.
Farming
Alright, there are several places you can farm, but for this I'm farming right inside of the Elona Reach mission. As soon as you enter the mission, you should mending and balthazar's spirit on you. Then go talk to the guy ate the "gate". He will give you a vision crystal, just drop it and there will be 2 Minotaurs right there. I recommend fighting them before you go fight the big group to the left. If you take the 2 on and the rest of that big group, you will most likely die. So fight those 2 and then wait for your energy to regen. Then a Minotaur will run past you unless it is in your agro bubble. You want to agro that Minotaur and then go in the middle of the huge group of Minotaurs. There might not be that many there, but while you are fighting that group many more (depending on how big the group is you are already fighting) will come up and start attacking you. First thing you need to do is put Protective Spirit and Healing breeze on you. Make sure you keep looking at the top left of your screen to see when Breeze and Prot. Spirit wear off. When they start blinking, cast them again. Then use SOJ (Shield Of Judgment). If you need energy (which you shouldn't because balthazar's spirit should be giving you plenty) use Blessed Signet. With Shield of Judgment on, every time an enimey attacks you they will fall down and take damage. The damage they take depends on your attribute points in Protection Prayers. Then use Zealot's Fire because everytime you heal yourself, they will lose health. Since its an AOE (Area Of Effect) skill, after you have used it a few times, they will run away but then come right back. If you are taking too many Minotaurs on at once, and you might die, it is good that they run from Zealot's Fire sometimes because it gives you a break from taking damage for a few seconds.
And thats about all for now, I will add some more stuff later. Here are some pictures of me fighting the Minotaurs.

Switch out Sprint for Blessed Aura, then Minos will die in one wave of SoJ. Seriously, I have no idea why you would want to take sprint, Minos have a short follow distance, and it's not like there's anything you want to avoid/outrun..
Edit: BTW Blessed Sig when you are only maintaining 2 enchs is pretty much a waste.
Edit2: Good guide though

Well that is one way to farm elonas... But heres my way!
Get the grim cesta like the first guy said, blah blah, get armor rune it up, after u did all the basics, use my build. Become a mo/n, and carry as i say:
Healing Breeze
Spiteful Spirit
Guardian
Protective Spirit
Essence Bond
Balths. Spirit
Mending
Blessed Sig
And here are the points:
Blood 1
Curse 10
Heal 10
Smite 7
Prot 12
Divine 12
There are a few errors, like having 1 point in blood, and i think theres 8 points left over that you can fiddle with. Good Luck, happy hunting

you do know that 2 aftershocks in there could make all the difference ,
aftershock > zealots fire
in fact come to think of it , you must be off your head not to use your 2nd proffession
monk/mes arcane echo for Soj
monk/n spiteful spirit
monk/w bonneti's defence (not realy needed lol)
monk/e aftershocks during soj
monk/r eoe (yes edge of extinction, far more effective that what you would think)

to be more right...only if use zealot and not wait. there is a 2 sec window to cast any spell with zealot if u dont want the AoE to take effact. wait 2 sec from cast to cast,,and no AoE.
and yes using the AoE is great way to save your life when your soj is down.

i mean i understand the asthetics...but no1 is watching you do your runs...are they?

replace sprint, blessed sig, & breeze
add blessed aura, bonetties defense, reversal of fortune.
or if your afraid you need the healing, then use breeze and rof together till your comfortable, but breeze isn't really necessary.
use an axe or sword with 20% enchant mod.
This will handle all the minos at once easy.
Side note: Drops suck here.

Yeah i farm there also but with a 55 ele. You will get the heretic spawn there 3/4 times and you will NOT be able to get past him cause he will stip you and molest you...lol. BTW the drops there are not great at all. Kinda like the mountain trolls but takes a little longer then the trolls. Purple drops are rare and gold drops are even more rare! I've gotten only 6 or so gold drops in the 75+ runs i've made there. You get stuck with plenty of feathers though that you can sell. Otherwise it's not worth farming. Look for other hidden spots in the game cause this one is not worth the effort IMO the hydras have improved their drops ever since the nerf...hydras consistently drop golds now

You don't really need some of the skills your useing
I do this run with...
Armor:
Ascentics with 5 sup runes
Weapons:
-50 offhand
20% enchant weapon
Attributes:
healing- 8
smiteing-16
Protection- 12
divine- 11
tactics- 2
Skills:
Sheild of Judgement
Healing breeze
Protective spirit
Blessed Aura
Mending
Balthazars spirit
Bonnettis defence
Simple run out aggro them all. Use bonnettis defence to keep alive until there all around you(spamming breeze and spirit in between). then cast sheild of judgement. they will be knocked down so that will give you time to heal back the damage they just did to you. Soon they'll all be dead. Easy.
No sprint, zealots fire, and sig needed at all. 7 skills...
Brother Gilburt
Good guide though and it will teach people how to do it.

While I'm sure all of these builds will work, (and I've tried them all at one point or another) the quickest 55 monk build I've found (for Elona and also Mountain Trolls near Droknar's Forge) is as following:
Monk/Mesmer
Attributes:
Healing: 13
Smiting: 16
Protection: 9
Divine Favor: 9
Skills:
Protective Spirit
Healing Breeze
Archane Echo
Shield of Judgement {E}
Mantra of Resolve
Essence Bond
Balthazar's Spirit
Mending
Method:
Note: While Mantra of Resolve isn't useful for Minotaurs in Elona's Reach, it's very useful for the Mountain Trolls' disrupting chops.
- Throw up your Essence Bond, Balth. Spirit and Mending (that solves your energy and health problems for the beginning).
- Round up the Minotaurs (or Trolls, whichever the case may be). Use Protective Spirit while rounding them up and Healing Breeze if needed.
Note: If using this build against Mountain Trolls, make sure to have Mantra of Resolve up at all times to avoid the disrupting chops.
- Once the enemies are fully aggro'd on you, make sure Prot. Spirit and Healing Breeze are up and use Archane Echo followed by Shield of Judgement. In this build, Shield of Judgement deals 53 damage.
- Continue to use Prot. Spirit and Healing Breeze while the enemies hurt themselves with Shield of Judgement.
- Here's the only tricky part: As soon as you see the first Shield of Judgement start to flash, immediately activate your echoed Shield of Judgement. If you don't activate it immediately, the Archane Echoed SoJ will expire. (SoJ lasts 21 seconds with this build and Archane Echo lasts 20 seconds, so you're not wasting much of the first SoJ - only 1 second).
- Continue keeping yourself alive with Prot. Spirit and Healing Breeze while the group finishes themselves off.
- The 2 Shield of Judgements are enough to take out trolls or minotaurs, but if some 'stragglers' came in a little late wanding them or another SoJ may be neccesary.
Wrapping up, it takes 2 Shield of Judgements to kill a full group of Mountain Trolls or Minotaurs. Since each Shield of Judgement lasts 21 seconds, it takes approximately 42 seconds to kill an entire group.
Hope this helps,
~BuddyChrist

You can kill a full group of minotaurs with 1 sheild of judgement if your weapon has a 20% enchant mod and you use blessed aura. Thats makes sheild of judgement last 50% longer(a.k.a. 30 seconds+). that is long enough to kill a full group of minotaurs. But it doesn take a longer than a 30 second sheild of judgement to kill the trolls. But zealots fire useually finishs them off fine. Your build would be faster, buts its only nessasary for the trolls in the mountains, not the minotaurs.
