Hp is good, but I prefer +10 vs physical, especially for PvP. It doesnt seem signficant, but the dmg is over a period of time noticably lower, and plus usually melees always target monks in PvP.
im gotta say... imho i find that the +energy set helps me more... although i also like to have a +hp set for when the chance of some horrid spike is likely(really gotta update that though... its old canthan stuff :P)
basically. id recommend +hp or + en but that could just be me
get a +25energy -2regen emergency set if you absolutely need more energy
*30. Swap outs come with their disadvantages; prone to domination magic, and if you die with it selected you're screwed for ages. (So don't die with it selected :P)
Anyway.

Exactly! Heck, monks are one of the few classes that can use +vs elemental. It's a crime not to.
I think I am right in saying non-projectile ele spells (ie Rodgorts Invokation, not Firestorm) will always target the chestpiece. Using a single +elemental on your chest is certainly wise.
I would then use 2 energy and 2 health sets, generally with a major divine, giving 500hp before weaponsets. (So 530 with the common spear/focus or 560 with a staff)
