Monk or Warrior
Heyhey,
School is almost over, and sadly, I'm stuck on the stage where I'm trying to decide what class I want to play. I think I've narrowed it down to a warrior or a monk, W/E for the former, and Mo/Me for the latter.
Anyways, I was just wondering which class you guys think is more fun and versatile. I'm mainly looking towards PvP as opposed to PvE, so the PvE aspects won't matter as much to me, although it could still count.
I do realize I'm posting this in the monk forums, but I'll be posting in both the warrior and the monk forums to look for varying perspectives. I'd prefer that you have played both professions when commenting on them, but if you've only played one, your thoughts are very much appreciated as well.
So, whatever you have to say, I'm all ears.
Thanks a bunch!
-Glydan

Monk is the most exciting and challenging profession in Guild Wars, especially in pvp. Very few people can monk well. Another fun profession to play is a mesmer.

I've extensively played both warrior and monk in PvE, and I have to say I immensely enjoy the former. Warriors can dish out damage, take punishment and come back for more time and time again.
Even after compulsively deleting my 9 month warrior (no real reason) I created another one and have had great experiences using the class in old, new, and popular methods. However, if PvP is more your flair, I would go for the monk.

Government Flu, how so?
Why would you suggest monk over warriors in PvP?

I recommend the monk also
When monking you will see what each class should or should not do so as to keep it alive (dont over extend for example)
So when you have monked for some time at least you have some clue on how to play other classes effectively

Warriors are good for beginners to the game. They aren't too complicated, but aren't boring. Monks are by far the hardest class to play with. Having said that, it depends what type of pvp you want to do. Warriors are good for RA. You can go in and kinda do what you want. Just depends on your personality. Do yuo like killing things, or do you like getting your butt kicked and trying to stay alive lol. Monking is like trying to stay afloat with something pulling you down. Playing a warrior is like beating that monk over the head with a paddle to keep them down.

You can level up a monk and a warrior to level 20 and get a good setup in 24 hours. Both are great professions, i play monk though.
