Monk builds for The Deep NM/HM
Hello,
I am getting into playing the Deep as a monk again. I've just been back from a break and I did some HM Deep runs, in one we got very far but we made a dumb mistake. Now, I would like some comments on these probably well-known builds:
We probably all know the WoH build, I'll skip that one.
LoD room 2 Monk:
[skill]Light of Deliverance[/skill][skill]Healing Seed[/skill][skill]Orison of Healing[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Signet of Rejuvenation[/skill][skill]Heal Party[/skill][skill]Extinguish[/skill][skill]Rebirth[/skill]
This Monk is very usefull for the second room, since it can spam a cheap Heal Party (>Light of Deliverance) for only 5 energy. When LoD is recharging and you are in the need of a team heal, Heal Party is your backup spell. Downside is the cost, 15 mana. Healing Seed is almost necessary for the Deep, as is Rebirth. Extinguish is a good choice since your party will be facing a lot of conditions and the party size is 12.
Healer's Boon Monk all rooms capable:
[skill]Healer's Boon[/skill][skill]Healing Seed[/skill][skill]Orison of Healing[/skill][skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Signet of Rejuvenation[/skill][skill]Infuse Health[/skill][skill]Heal Party[/skill][skill]Rebirth[/skill]
This monk is probably a better choice for the second room, since it can spam Heal Party real quickly to backup other rooms if necessary. BiP and BR keep this monk refueled so you don't have to worry about mana. Now, this monk is also capable of going into room 1/3/4. I tried it multiple times and when you time Healing Seed correctly you shouldnt have any big issues (on NM it should be even more easy ofcourse). This is a very powerful build for other rooms, IF the BiP refuels you frequently enough. That's also the biggest downside of thsi build, you are nothing without BiPs and BRs. However, Healing Boon + Orison of Healing is a very powerful combination with an incredible low cost for ~150 points of healing. Infuse Health is an incredible spell together with Healer's Boon, use this for heavy spike situations. With 1/8 casting time and proper reflexes you should be able to save someone from near death to full HP .
I would appreciate it if any of you could comment and criticize these builds, again: they are not mine whatsoever, just wanted to hear your opinions on them .

Heal Party on the LoD monk is too much. Unless you would use glyph of lesser like this... I would just go...
12+1+1 healing 8 prot 10+1 divine
[LoD][Dwaynas Kiss][RoF][Signet of Rejuvination][Infuse/Healing Seed][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Heal Party/Extinguish][Rebirth]
12+1+1 healing 9 prot 9+1 divine
[WoH][RoF][Signet of Rejuvination][Dismiss Condition/Healing Seed/Extinguish][Holy Veil][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Aegis][Rebirth]
12+1+1 healing 9 prot 9+1 divine
[WoH][RoF][Signet of Rejuvination][Dismiss Condition/Healing Seed/Extinguish][Holy Veil][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Aegis][Rebirth]
12+1+1 healing 3 prot 12+1 divine
[HB][Etheral Light][Dwaynas Kiss][Signet of Rejuvination][Healing Seed][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Heal Party][Restore Life]

what we use in HM;
Lod, Infuse, Words, Rof, Dismiss Condition, Protective Spirit, Aegis, Glyph of Lesser Energy (room 1)
Healer's Boon, Heal Party, Healing Seed, Dismiss Condition, Protective Spirit, Orison, Glyph of Lesser Energy (room 3?))
Restore Condition, Rof, Spirit Bond, Gift of Health, Glyph of Lesser Energy, Rebirth, Aegis, forgot (room 4?)
i don't see the point in using Woh because it's crap.

Last night in Urgoz we ran a LoD+HB+Bonder setup and the LoD monk brought [skill]Arcane Mimicry[/skill], which actually turned out being nice since they could pair LoD with Healer's Boon.

Been toying with this build and it seems to work well
Healing Prayers: 16
Divine Favor: 15
Ethereal Light
Dwayna's Kiss
Heal Party
Orison
Healing Seed
Aura of Faith {E}
Arcane Mimicry
Rebirth or Resurrection Chant
I use this when there is a Healer's Boon monk in the party. I Mimic the HB and then goto the room I have been assigned. It works good when the tank goes and takes aggro. I cast Aura of Faith on the tank. Now if we are in a room that can be reached by another monk with LoD or Heal Party the tank gets the 50% boost from Aura of Faith. That heal is for 189 health + DF bonus. Also I am healing the tank for 230+ health for each cast aside from Healing Seed.
For when a tank is pulling I can throw Aura on them and they get the benefit of the boost of healing from all sources of healing.

Aura is kind of a waste in my opinion since it's basically a single target HB. You could do better for your elite (WoH, LoD, etc). Plus if your party gets into a situation where the agro leaves the tank, you're going to want something other than Aura of Faith.

Aura of Faith
You obviously didn't look at the build close enough. I am using Healer's Boon and Aura of Faith in the same build. Yes I am using Mimicry to get the HB. This build works exceptionally well in The Deep in hard mode.
Example:
Ethereal Light heals for 105 + 48 DF bonus (152)
with HB it heals for 158 + 48 DF Bonus (208)
with HB + Aura it heals for 236 + 72 DF bonus (308)
Orison of Healing Heals for 84 + 48 DF bonus
with HB it heals for 110 + 48 DF Bonus
with HB + Aura it heals for 164 + 72 DF Bonus
Heal Other heals for 190 + 48 DF Bonus (238)
with HB it heals for 285 + 48 DF Bonus (333)
with HB + Aura it heals for 428 + 72 DF Bonus (500)
Healing Touch heals for 63 + 96 DF Bonus (159)
with HB it heals for 94 + 96 DF Bonus (190)
with HB + Aura it heals for 144 + 142 DF Bonus (286)
Healing Whisper heals for 104 + 48 DF Bonus (152)
with HB it heals for 156 + 48 DF Bonus (204)
with HB + Aura it heals for 234 +72 DF Bonus (306)
Words of Comfort heals for 63 + 48 DF Bonus (111)
with HB it heals for 94 + 48 DF Bonus (132)
with HB + Aura it heals for 142 +72 Bonus (214)
Note: These don't include the extra heals from when the target has a condition
Heal Party heals for 84 + 48 DF Bonus (132)
with HB it heals for 126 + 48 DF Bonus (174)
with HB + Aura it heals for for 189 + 72 DF Bonus (261)
Note: The DF bonus only works for the caster
Gift of Health heals for 159 + 48 DF Bonus (207)
with HB it heals for 238 + 48 DF Bonus (286)
with HB + Aura it heals for for 358 + 72 DF Bonus (440)
Heal Area heals for 190 + 48 DF Bonus (238)
with HB it heals for 285 + 48 DF Bonus (303)
with HB + Aura it heals for for 428 + 72 DF Bonus (500)
Note: DF bonus only applies to the caster
Heaven's Delight heals for 260 + 48 DF Bonus (308)
with Aura it heals for for 390 + 72 DF Bonus (462)
note: DF bonus only applies to the caster
Dwayna's Kiss heals for 248 + 48 DF Bonus (4 enchantments) (296)
with HB it heals for 316 + 48 DF Bonus (360)
with HB + Aura it heals for for 558 + 72 DF Bonus (630)
In the end I believe this skill if used in conjunction with HB is a very viable skill.

I often like to use this skill to gain the extra healing, but I don't get to use it other than when I'm with heroes and can put it on Tahl or Dunk. It would be good for the Deep to deal with those annoying spikes.

Looks decent but it's very energy dependant on the bip, and you have orisen as main target heal (Seeing that sig has 8 sec recharge) IMO in the deep orisen is beaten by [skill]words of comfort[/skill] and there would be enough conditions to make it worth while.

Also very decent, but has energy problems without bip or br so that means he'll be good for room 2 and nothing else atm
I would personally try to fit [skill]essence bond[/skill] in as it's all the e-manegement you'll need for the first rooms, downside is it will become less usable in later areas.
I have always run [skill]Dwayna's kiss[/skill] in the deep and not infuse health, with just a 1/2 sec cast it really shines on hexed and enchanted targets
Signet of rejuvenation is somewhat a double sided coin.. it can heal for 158 health max but is not affected by HB or divine favor yet costs no energy

Actually yes, I did look at your build, and what I meant was that HB+Aura is overkill, and combining HB with another elite such as LoD or WoH is generally a better idea, since Aura is only single target, meaning if agro breaks off the tank (which it will at some point), or for the last room, your healing capacity is diminished.

Actually
you say that I diminish my healing capacity... how about my casting on a couple targets that are under pressure and for 60 seconds ALL the monks healing that target are healing for 50% more? i think i just increased the efficiency on that target much more than WoH.
Let's for the sake of argument you want to heal continuously for 60 seconds assuming energy to cast. WoH will heal for 275 with HB (assuming target is below 50% health) + 48 DF bonus (15 Divine Favor) for 15 heals equals 4845 health for 90 energy. now HB + Aura + Orison will heal for 189 + 72 DF bonus for 30 heals equals for 30 heals equals 7830 health for 130 energy. WoH heals for 53.83333 health per 1 energy. My build heals for 60.23 health per 1 energy. And Aura of Faith is a boost from any source.
Another example using The Deep. I go into room 1 with HB. The monk in room 2 heal party's for 126 using HB. Let's assume the tank received 5 Orison Heals and 4 Heal Party heals from room 2 in a 60 second timeframe. That is 1374 health that is received by the tank.
Now I go into room 1 with HB+Aura. The monk in room 2 heals for 189. Assuming the same number of heals from room 2 and room 1. That total is 2061 health.
without Aura it is 85 energy to heal 1374. it is 66 energy (with Aura casted) to heal the same amount. (this is a generalization)
If I do my math correctly that I have just increased efficiency with that tank from multiple healing sources. What happens when I get all four monks healing? it maybe overkill in some respects but if you are going to have to cast the heals make it worth a whole heck of alot more and alleviate some pressure because you aren't having to cast as much.
I am not saying use Aura alone. I am just saying that this, in practice, is a viable build
