~ Arky (Arkantos) for giving me such a horrible place to farm after the hard mode update that it reminded me that there must be A LOT better farming spots than the spot arky gave me. You’ve inspired me to revamp my guide

III. Introduction -- Why I’m Back --
I will spare you from the horror I put you through (past guide readers) in this section of my last guide. I’ll just get to the point this time.

I write these guides to help inspire and give players a place to start farming. Some people may call me the “55 god” but I believe I’m nowhere near that title. I’m a simple guy who likes to farm with his monk. I may not be the most qualified person to write guides like these but if I don’t, who will? The only other monk farming guide that I’ve found that I could compare to was Cerb’s Invinci-monk guide and that is long out of date.

As many of you know, I stated in my last guide that I quit the guide scene. After another huge update (as many of you may remember the griffon nerf) that rocked the Guildwars farming world I feel that I shouldn’t leave people wandering in the dark without an up-to-date guide to fuel them. So that is why I’m back and re-writing this guide.

In any case, I hope you enjoy my guide.

IV. Why Monk? Why Farm? – Motivation –
--Why Monk—
Everyone needs a monk. Weather you are doing missions, gvg’ing, etc. you will find that the monk is an essential part of Guildwars. As the primary healing class, Monks are widely needed and relied on and can be considered the back-bone of the Guildwars party as it holds everything up. The monk is not only good for healing but for damage as well. As seen in solo-farming builds, the monk can maintain itself while dealing significant damage. With the added bonus of being able to run from location to location using sub-class warrior or ranger skills (coupled with the tanking ability of the 55 monk) the monk can easily run various routes in Guildwars. In conclusion, the monk is a good character to have on hand (even if your main character isn’t a monk) just in case.

--Why Farm—
There are many reasons for farming. To me, I find it enjoyable and at times challenging. There is also the fact that you can make money either grinding mobs or farming for the items that they drop. There is also chest farming (which I will get to later) that is always fun and exciting (not to mention a good way to level up your title tracks). Most farm for the money. The amount of platinum per hour (p/h) can range widely based on efficiency, where you farm, and just pure luck. Of course knowing how to farm is just the first part in making money. Knowing how to efficiently sell the items that you farm is a skill in itself (more on that later).

---Motivation—
After the Hard Mode update a lot of great farmers (here on guru and in-game) had quit because they saw no hope in farming. A lot of them deleted their 55 gear. They were wrong. Farming isn’t dead. For the rest of you that are reading this I challenge you to show the rest of the Guildwars community (especially the PvP Elitists that have been sitting back and laughing this whole time) that this update has positively affected farming and that we will continue to find new and innovative ways to farm in Guildwars.
------------------------------------------------------
V. Commitment and Dedication
Now that you have read the first section of my guide it’s time to tell you to quit while you’re ahead. I don’t mean to be rude but if you are not truly committed to playing the role of a monk or not dedicated enough to spend hours learning how to properly monk before learning how to farm with a monk; stop reading and close the page. Monking requires patience, understanding, and a lot of trial and error. So again, quit while you’re ahead if you’re not going to be committed. If you feel that you have the right attitude, continue reading.

VI. Questions and Answers –Changes To The Game—

Below is a list of questions (and answers) to a few of the more popular monk farming questions

Q: What is a 55 monk?
A: A smiting monk that has dropped his/her life down to 55 hp via 5 superior runes and a -50 offhand.

Q: 5 superior runes?? Isn't that expensive?
A: Yes, making a 55 monk requires a large cash fund but can be easily made back within a few hours (not counting practice of course).

Q: I only have GW:F and/or GW:NF. Can I still make a 55 monk?
A: Yes you can, however, Shield of Judgment cannot be captured in GW:F. Since many of the core 55 monk skills reside in Prophecies, I wouldn't suggest making one.

Q: Can’t I substitute Spiteful Spirit for Shield of Judgement?
A: Yes you can. However, Spiteful Spirit cannot be captured in GW:F or GW:NF.

Q: What do you do with a 55 monk?
A: The most popular answers would be: Farming and Running.

Q: What is this -50 offhand you speak of?
A:
Found in the Cities of Ascalon Quest

Q: I can't find the person who gives you the Cities of Ascalon quest.
A: Symon the Scribe can be found in Ascalon City and will give you the quest after you have completed the missions: The Great Northern Wall and Counting the Fallen.

Q: I have the Cities of Ascalon quest, however, the -50 cesta isn’t the reward item. What happened?
A: There’s a 50/50 chance that you will get the -50 cesta now. If you can’t get one through the Cities of Ascalon quest, I suggest you buy one. see here for more help

Q: Wait... There are only 4 Superior Runes for the monk. Wheres the 5th that you speak of?
A: For your 5th rune, you just use any superior monk rune that is available (the -75 hp stacks but the +skills don't. therefore, just get the cheapest).

Q: Why do you use divine healing scalp
A: It's personal preference. It also helps for builds that dont require smiting skills (such as 2 man uw farming).

Q: Where do I get my set of tat armor?
A: Some may say Lions Arch but really any armor will do (tats just give more energy)

Q: What weapon do you use for your 55 monk?
A: Most people agree that the Fiery Flame Spitter of Enchanting is the monk weapon of choice but you can also buy a Totem Axe.

Q: Where do I get a -20 Ankh?
A: Talk to Namar in Ascalon City (presear) then go to where Devona is in the town of Ashford. Before you reach Devona you will come across Miller Upton. He will say the bee's are a distraction and will not talk to you untill you take the bees across the bridge. Pick up the honeycomb, gather the three groups of bees and bring it across the bridge then go talk to Miller Upton again.

Q: I have GW:F and/or GW:NF, how can I get Shield of Judgement?
A: Shield of Judgement is a Guild Wars: Prophecies (aka original Guildwars) only skill. You can’t get it in GW:F or GW:NF.

Q: Now that I have everything how do I 55 monk something?
A: Put up Mending, Balthazar's Spirit (or Essence Bond), and Blessed Aura. Then Put up Protective Spirit and Healing Breeze. Run into a mob and put up Shield of Judgement. Have fun.

Q: How do I get access to hard mode?
A: Beat the game.

Q: I have more hard mode questions…can you answer them?
A: Read the updated part below.

Q: Has your monk changed any bit since your last guide?
A: Not really. It's only been a few months.

Q: How can I get a hold of you if I’m having trouble?
A: Contact me in game @ Tsunami Rain or PM me on this forum or leave a question here in this thread.

Below you will find some of the changes that hard mode brought to Guildwars.
[Note: These are all important changes but the really important changes to note are bolded.]

Hard Mode
Hard mode has been introduced for the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns. Players who have completed a campaign can now try playing it again in Hard mode for the ultimate challenge. By playing the game in Hard mode, players can find new treasures and earn new titles and rewards.

Now that players can choose their difficulty level, we've adjusted monster AI in Normal mode to present a more moderate challenge. The most advanced and difficult monster behaviors are now reserved for Hard mode. (Note: Certain elite missions may be extremely difficult to complete in Hard mode. We will examine these missions and make any necessary changes at a later date.)

Changes to Normal Mode

The following monster AI modifications have been made to Normal mode only. Monsters in Hard mode continue to use the most challenging AI available.

Monsters in Normal mode now respond more slowly to AoE damage.
Monsters in Normal mode are now less likely to kite for long periods of time.
Melee monsters in Normal mode will once again focus all of their attacks on a single target.

Accessing Hard Mode
To gain access to a campaign's Hard mode, you must win the final mission for that campaign in Normal mode.
Once you win a campaign with any character on your account, every level 20 character on that same account will have access to Hard mode for that campaign.
All Hard mode content is intended for level 20 characters. All monsters are at least level 20, and all henchmen who are below level 20 are automatically promoted to level 20 when taken into Hard mode.

Hard Mode Loot
The average number of uncommon and rare items has been increased in Hard mode.
While in Hard mode, the number of gemstones that players receive from chests after defeating each region of the Domain of Anguish has been doubled.
Elite and non-elite Skill Tomes have been introduced into the game. You can acquire these new items by defeating creatures while in Hard mode.
There is a non-elite Skill Tome that corresponds with each of the ten professions. You may use a Skill Tome to learn any non-elite skill associated with that Tome's correlated profession if that skill is unlocked on your account. Non-elite Skill Tomes may be obtained from any normal creature in Hard mode.
There is an Elite Skill Tome that corresponds with each of the ten professions. You may use a Skill Tome to learn any elite skill associated with that Tome's correlated profession if that skill is unlocked on your account. Elite Skill Tomes may be obtained from any boss creature in Hard mode.

Lockpicks
Your characters can now acquire lockpicks. These new, special items can be found in Hard mode and may also be purchased from any merchant (with the exception of those found in Pre-Searing Ascalon).
The chance to retain a lockpick upon opening a chest is determined by the following formula: (Character level / 2) + (3 * Treasure Hunter ranks) + (2 * Lucky ranks) (%).
In Normal mode, chests have built-in bonuses that make them easier to open than chests in Hard mode.
Lockpicks may be used to open any locked chest in Normal mode, but they are a requirement for opening any chests in Hard mode.

Realm of Torment Rebalancing
Decreased the number of Torment Demons that cluster together in the Domain of Secrets, the Domain of Pain, Nightfallen Jahai, and the Depths of Madness.
Decreased the overall number of enemy groups in the Domain of Secrets, the Domain of Pain, Nightfallen Jahai, and the Depths of Madness.
Adjusted the enemy patrol routes in the Domain of Secrets, the Domain of Pain, Nightfallen Jahai, and the Depths of Madness.
Adjusted the size and makeup of the Torment groups in the Domain of Fear.
Adjusted the monster spawns in the Depths of Madness. The changes include (but are not limited to) the movement of patrols, the size and makeup of groups, and the location of boss encounters.

Miscellaneous
The price of keys that previously cost 1,500 gold have been reduced to 1,250 gold.
Loot now scales according to party size.
Repeated map entry no longer reduces loot.

Update - Friday April 20

Loot Changes
Adjusted the following items so that they are now exempt from loot scaling:
Skill Tomes
Scrolls
Dye
Rare materials, such as Ectoplasm
Gemstones from the Domain of Anguish
All other rare (gold) items
All unique (green) items
Special event items

Henchmen that were previously sub-level 20 before entering Hard Mode now have appropriate armor and weapon damage for their level.
VII. What You Will Need To Accomplish My Guide
Time. A lot of time. This guide will contain information about creating your monk and how to effectively play your monk. There is a lot to learn before I start talking about farming. Here is a list of things you will need to accomplish before even thinking about farming with your monk (we’ll go over the minute details later):

1. Guildwars: Prophecies, Guildwars: Factions, Guildwars: Nightfall
2. A level 20 Monk (200/200 stats)
3. ALL sub-classes unlocked
4. Skill points...lots of them
5. Beaten all three chapters (for Hard Mode)
6. Obtained all noted skills (more on this later)
7. Have a stable fallback plan that can make you money (ex. Running, Merchanting, etc.)

I could go on but these are most of the basic things that should be accomplished before starting your monk. Now I have been approached with comments saying that a lot of this isn't necessary to farm and they're right. This is my guide (get your own ) and I believe that following these principles will help further yourself in monking and farming alike. Although my guide seems strict, in the end you will find yourself much better off. Challenging yourself is key to growth and is one of the aspects that I believe in. Also, I cannot put enough emphasis on having a fully completed level 20 monk before starting to farm. So many people who want to farm with a 55 monk make their 55 armor early and start farming. This is not a good tactic and will hurt you in the long run.
------------------------------------------------------
VIII. The Creation Screen
Now I’m not going to tell you how your monk should look or what color clothes it should wear. The only thing I am concerned about is what chapter you start out with. Start out in Prophecies and continue reading. (note: your secondary should be mesmer as it is easier to monk prophecies with a mesmer secondary plus you can pick up skills/elites). Whatever you do, DO NOT go monk/warrior in the beginning because you will regret it..
------------------------------------------------------
IX. Progressing Your Monk
Here’s the run down of what you should do in each chapter (start with prophecies->nightfall->factions): This should be done in normal mode (even if you have hard mode unlocked).

Prophecies – Beat it with a group of people that have played the game before and know that they can beat it with ease. This is to start you off monking with less stress. Do not get ran or power leveled (play the game the normal way). When you hit Lions Arch, get a run to Temple of the Ages then down to Sanctum Cay (I’ll spare you since you have 2 chapters more to complete). After beating Sanctum Cay ascend, get all your stat points, unlock all of your sub-classes, grab some maxed armor and FIGHT your way through the southern shiverpeaks collecting all of the essential elites that you can before beating the game @ hells precipice. Don’t have to do LDD (last day dawns) or the defend ______ missions.

Nightfall – Have your monk travel to Elona and beat the game with PUG’s (Pick up groups) as much as possible. Pick up groups are groups that you find in outposts and consist of people that you do not know. PUG’s are notorious for having “junk” players, morons, etc. The reason I am telling you to PUG nightfall is because it is THE most difficult of the three chapters. If you can PUG nightfall you can PUG any group anywhere with your monk. While beating nightfall you should make sure you pick up elites along the way. By the end of nightfall, your monk should be well established and you should be completely familiar with any monking terms and builds.

Factions – Have your monk travel to Cantha and beat the game with heroes and henchies only (beat shiro at the end with a real group though). DO NOT use a hero monk. Collect elites and skills as you go and if possible, play through both the kurzick and luxon missions.

(Skills, items, and other things that you will need to pick up are gone over in detail later in the guide)

After completing the three chapters you should have enough money to buy the missing skills and capture sigs for elites that you need. You should also have enough money to buy extra sets of armor for farming (including the runes needed).

If not, find a running build that works for you and start running people. OR use the money you have now and start merchanting (buying low and selling high).

If you have already beaten the three chapters I suggest you still make sure you have captured the skills necessary. Also, with the recent hard mode update, you can test your mettle by monking hard mode if you like.

Now I'm not saying that this is all necessary but I'm HIGHLY recommending it. Furthering your monk and having access to all the areas of the game is very helpful especially if you are going to pioneer in farming and be the one searching for spots rather than feeding off of them.
------------------------------------------------------
X. Items, Armor, Weapons, Etc.
Below is a list of the different things you will need to buy/pick up while beating the three campaigns so that you can farm:

-Prophecies-
>-20hp ankh (Quest given by Namar in Presearing or buy a better one from another player)
>-50hp cesta (Quest given by Symon the Scribe: Cities of Ascalon [Although he won’t show it, it is a quest reward for completing it] or buy it from another player)
>Fiery Flame Spitter also buy a 20% enchanting mod to add to it.
>Totem Axe buy it for a few plat.

-Factions-
None!

-Nightfall-
None!

Armor-
>max armor scalp (divine, healing, and smiting)
>Tattoo armor (I prefer 1.5k kurzick) for 55ing + 5 Superior Runes (not superior vigor)
>Presear armor (yes keep it!) or low level armor (ex. shing jea armor)
>Regular monking armor (nightfall armor)

Others (not required but recommended)-
>20/20 Divine Staff (rare, collectors, or green)
>20/20 Smiting Staff (rare, collectors, or green)
>20/20 Protection Staff (rare, collectors, or green)
>20/20 Healing Staff (rare, collectors, or green)
>Smiting Rod (max, +5e when enchanted, divine/prot/healing req 8 or 9 and customized)
>Candy Canes (removes DP)
>Golden Eggs (+1 attributes for 5 minutes)
------------------------------------------------------
XI. Skills

There are more skills but like I said, just collect as you go and if you find that you are missing some skills, make sure you go back and pick them up.
------------------------------------------------------
XII. Mentor
Find yourself a farming mentor. Someone knowledgeable who wouldn’t mind answering your questions and showing you your mistakes. This person can be a guildie or a friend or someone you met while in a group. It’s always good to have someone that can answer your questions. Just remember that you can always come back to Guildwars Guru to get your questions answered.

I also suggest you at least look over my other three guides:
55 monk guide (discontinued)
55 cantha guide (discontinued)
Tsunami Rain’s Ultimate Monk Farming Guide

Although out of date, the question and answers part can be very helpful and if you aren’t too sure how to make a 55 monk and what you will need, check out my 55 monk guide as it takes an in-depth look at what you need to build it.

If you are still in the dark on how to actually work a 55 monk check out my video tutorial:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lzan6k6v4k8

Also, don’t look at me like I said, I’m not as good as others out there.

Farming: The First Step
------------------------------------------------------
XIII. Knowing Your Limitations
When you first start out farming its obvious that you should start out small and get used to builds. As for my advice, I suggest you start out small. Try farm some warden in Arborstone Explorable, or some griffons in Skyward Reach. Start out small. As you get better you can branch out into other builds or farm harder stuff. But as for now, start small until you are familiar with farming.

Try out some spots and see what works. Here are a few builds that may help:

------------------------------------------------------
XIV. An Explanation / How To Post Builds
I just wanted to let you all know why I removed the builds from my guide. Hard Mode is out and a lot of the information relating to the builds, timing, etc. were altered with the Hard Mode update. Some of those builds don’t work anymore and some need to be tweaked to work. As this is just a revamped guide I’m not going to take the time to write out builds and strategies. Take a look at Witte’s Thread if you want some up-to-date builds.

I will, however, post up any viable (worth while) builds that you (the community) may have. I ask that if you do this that it be in this format (as it is easier to read):

Divine: 5+3=8
Earth Prayers: 8=8

[skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Shield of Absorption[/skill][skill]Mystic Regeneration[/skill][skill]Shield of Judgment[/skill][skill]Blessed Signet[/skill][skill]Essence Bond[/skill][skill]Balthazar's Spirit[/skill][skill]Blessed Aura[/skill]

Owok4wPJUtiT94uyeNIpE9h8AgA

This is just like the old undead farming build that has been done time and time again. Nothing special really. Good source of stable income (a lot of dead bow drops as well). Some runs nothing good turns up while other runs I may get 2-3 golds. Its quite random. Anyway have fun.

Start out at Bergen Hot Springs and go outside (make sure hard mode is active). Once outside cast your three enchants and regenerate your energy by using blessed signet. Cast prot spirit, mystic regeneration, and shield of absorption then run into the first mob. Cast SoJ and just maintain your skills. After that group head North-West (while killing mobs) until you hit the Cursed Lands. Rinse and repeat.

Approx 1-2 golds per run and 1.5k per run (after selling everything).

Video Coming Soon.

2. Djinn Farming
Author: Tsunami Rain

Monk/Dervish

Stats:
Smiting: 12+3+1=16
Protection: 9+3=12
Divine: 5+3=8
Earth: 8=8

[skill]Protective Spirit[/skill][skill]Shield of Absorption[/skill][skill]Mystic Regeneration[/skill][skill]Shield of Judgment[/skill][skill]Symbol of Wrath[/skill][skill]Blessed Signet[/skill][skill]Balthazar's Spirit[/skill][skill]Blessed Aura[/skill]

Owok4wPJUtiT94uyeNI3jUi8AgA

This build works but takes awhile. I'll run more test builds later on it to get it to be more efficient.

You have to have beaten Dasha Vestibule to do this farm. Enter the Hidden City through the Key NPC at Dasha Vestibule. One inside cast up your enchants and then run in after casting PS, SoA, and MR. Maintain PS, SoA, and MR while casting SoJ. Use Symbol of Wrath whenever you can get the Water Djinn all grouped up (or if a water djinn is almost dead) as they are the hardest to kill. They will run away from your symbol of wrath (make sure you are attacking at least one to keep them there) after awhile. Repeat untill all the djinn are dead.

Again let me remind you that this build works (I've done it) but it isn't at all as fast as I want it to be. Please post your thoughts if you have any.

------------------------------------------------------
Farming: Branching Out
------------------------------------------------------
XVII. Expanding Your Knowledge
Now that you have the basics of farming down, you can search the Guildwars Guru forums for more 55able areas to farm. You should now be at the point where you should be expanding your farming knowledge. The more you know about different builds the better.
------------------------------------------------------
XVIII. Profit Over Time
Lets talk about profit over time. Basically this is the amount of platinum gained over a certain time-span (I like to go with platinum per hour (p/h)). Now depending on your skill level and what spots you farm, you can be making large bursts of money every now and then or a steady stream. I consider a steady stream of money a lot more constant and stable (and so I encourage it). However, most farming spots now days don’t give you a very steady stream of money so I suggest you find a spot where the p/h is somewhat high (at least 10p/h) only because the drop-rate of the item is good. With the new hard mode update out, it may be hard to find spots like these. Since golds drop more abundantly, I won’ t condone farming for golds to get your income up. Also keep in mind that a good farmer will always keep a few lockpicks on him incase a chest pops up. Just make sure you keep track of how many of those lockpicks are breaking and if it is really worth opening chests.
------------------------------------------------------
Farming: The Unknown
------------------------------------------------------
XIX. The Search / The Drive
By now you have experienced a lot of different farming builds and most likely understand the concepts of farming as a monk. Go out and farm. Find new builds, new locations, better builds and better locations. But always remember: keeping locations and builds to yourself will never benefit you. By sharing information freely you are giving back to the community that has helped you become what you are, getting input on your build/location, etc. And besides, without the sharing of new information, the farming community as a whole is not growing and progressing (at least that is how I see it and that is why I write these guides).
------------------------------------------------------
XX. The Successful Farmer
As you continue farming you will find that success is not how many stacks of ectos you have or how many sets of FoW armor you own, it lies in how much fun you had getting there. You will also eventually find that it isn’t worth farming just to hoard up gold but that you should rather farm when you need to (it helps you stay modest). Always remember, give back to the community.
------------------------------------------------------
XXI. The Market
One of the key skills of being a farmer is being able to sell your items. "Playing the market" as it is called is a term given to those who buy, sell, and trade with other players. Knowing how to play the market well is a very useful skill especially when you have something that's hard to sell.

Most farmers fall into the catagory of selling. This is where you have an item that you have obtained for "free" (usually from farming). The only restrictions you have when selling items is time. The first restriction is asking yourself, "Will this item be worth the price I sell it at for the amount of time it took me to farm it?" The second restriction is looking at the current market price. This can be done by getting a price check (or knowing how to price check based on the market) at Guildwars Guru or on MIRC at #marketwatch. After getting a price check (which is the average going price of the item) you should ask yourself how much you are willing to sell your item for. You should also take into account the demand and rarity of the item as that will also affect how long it will take you to sell it. Remember the cheaper your sell it the more likely you will sell it faster.

Most people prefer to sell their items in Lions Arch District 1 or Temple of Ages District 1 (For ecto's and shards). You can also sell your items on Guildwars Guru through the Sell section (just make sure you read the rules first!). In addition, you can also auction off your items at GuildwarsGuru through the auction system.

Another part of playing the market is buying low and selling high. Many people have struck it rich doing this (and dont even farm!). The key is knowing the market well. Buying a minipet for 5k off of a player needing money and being able to take the time to sell it for 15k can be very worth it. The main success factor in reselling items on the market is being able to make back your money (and make a profit) in a reasonable amount of time. You have to be good at striking a deal as well. I wont go too far into the details here as the concept is fairly simple once you know what you are doing. It just involves knowing the market prices and knowing how to strike up a deal.

Being able to play the market well gives you the benefit of getting in there, selling your items, then going back to farming ASAP.
------------------------------------------------------
XXII. Market Theory
Recently with the introduction of hard mode, the market has been going crazy. Golds that were once worth a lot are now spiraling down in price. The ecto market is crashing. Pure chaos; a price checkers worse nightmare. I’ve created this section of my guide to help shed some light on what’s going on.

With the addition of hard mode, golds are now poping up everywhere. So why are a lot of the rarest skins suddenly being sold for a lot cheaper than previously? It is simple supply and demand. Gold’s are dropping more frequently which means supply is going up which makes demand go down after some point in time. As for ectos plummeting in price, this is caused because of two reasons.

The first reason is because of the initial shock of the hard mode update. People who were saving up for FoW armor or those who invested in ectos previous to the hard mode update found themselves in a predicament. The majority of the population thought in two different ways:

1. It’s going to be a lot harder to get ectos in hard mode so why bother finishing my FoW set. These people sold their ectos as the price of ectos shot up early into the new patch
2. I should buy ecto now while the price of ecto is still low because it’s going to be a lot harder to farm them so the price will go up. I will then sell it when the prices raise. These people bought or held onto their ecto. These are the guys (the majority of the population wealthy enough to buy ecto) that are selling all their ecto now and are contribuiting to the dropping prices of ecto.

Also, the dev team recently put out a new set of minipets. I suggest selling yours now (If you have one) ASAP (if it’s a new one) as you will get the best price now rather than waiting. If you see a good deal (being able to make at least 20k off of a mini pet) buy the new minipet and resell it. The best advice I can give you right now is to stay away from the market for now if you aren’t in a very good financial situation (less than 100k). I would suggest just sell your items and leave it at that. For those of you who aren’t worrying about your financial situation, I suggest you get in on the elite skill tome buying/selling and maybe even the minipet market for a bit. The market is still a bit unstable because of hard mode be it should be rebalancing its self in a few months.

How a 55 farms is really very self explanatory and easy. Cast all your maintained enchants when you enter the zone. Keep up PS and HB [or mystic regen] and use your damage skills when they're recharged.

This is very interesting, especially (as Witte stated) the idea of MoR with Zealot's.

May i also point out a little 'error'.

'5. Beaten all three chapters with your monk (for Hard Mode)'

This also applies if you have completed the campaign with another character

Nice job though, grats.

Because every three months there is a good chance that something has changed somewhere, or some skill becomes viable somewhere for something. Almost every week you could find a new thread asking 'what is a 55' in some form; having an updated guide to one of the most popular farming builds is a great place to send those people asking.

I "reposted" this thread because of the hard mode update. If it was just some minor update I wouldnt do it. And I will update the guide with a section on how to actually use the 55 build. (I figured it was a bit self explanitory).

The reason why I'm not going to talk about 105 and 135 monking is because it's basically the same thing as 55ing but with more health and a couple different skills and also new players shouldn't really just rely on my guide, but search around and find new builds. Note that this guide isn't for those well established farmers that know all of this information but rather the new farming community; people who don't know what they're doing. This saves all of us the trouble of having 10 threads open asking "what is a 55 monk? how do I farm trolls?" etc.

Wow you guys. Give the 'man' some breathing room. He just posted this, and you all jump on his back? Tsk tsk.

Anyways, nice guide. I can't wait until the farm builds are up. And Rodgorts+ Zealots sounds nice, but I'm wondering about the scatter. Since the burning lasts for only 3 seconds, can you drag them down before they lose aggro?
That reminds of the Burning Speed+ Spirit bond days. I'm such a closet pyro =P

One of Garett's ideas. It should still work (haven't tested it after the hard mode update). I'm also testing out a few more builds that came to mind.

Also, why post up repeat builds like warden, titan, deadsword farming, etc. when they could be done in the past? I figure you people would rather not have to waste your time by reading old builds that still work. But since it seems people want builds more than anything I'll add on anything I come up with. For now, all of you that are asking for builds you can check out witte's thread (should be somewhere on the first or second page in this section).

The guide is definitely helpful with the changes. As we all know, there are new players and this is what they need if they plan onmaking 55 monk.
