shields on monks?
im starting to see shields on monks?is there a good reason for this? I mean ive seen it in the past..but never knew the reason behind it...just like how the whole caster sword stuff happened...
and what are good mods to look for in a caster monk shield :P |

Shield:
+30 hp and for the inscription, +10 vs all armor types. I also bring a 20% reduce cripple. Sword: +/-5 en +30hp Divine's post is better. |

+10 armor vs xx The reason why monks (well actually all professions) carry a shield, is that it gives direct bonus: whenever you are hit, you have damage reduction. This is unlike the energy bonus from the focus, which you only need if you're on low energy. Weapon swapping is key here: always be in your shield set and whenever you cast, swap into a wand+focus set with the right mods (usually 40/40). You gain both the advantages then: whenever you are hit, you have the armor of the shield. If you cast you have enough energy available and get the FC/SR bonusses from the wand set. |

monks have used shields/sword before factions came out so its nothing new but 99% of the people doing it are PVPers " I think its cause pve is to easy and any thing works in pve" Just because your not a war does not mean the mods dont still work for you the req is only for damage. you can use a sword/offhand and get more energy then if you used a wand/offhand or a staff. you can get more energy with a staff but at the cost of other mods and its only +5^50. I HATE the +5^50 mod even in PVE, you will spike your own energy. With a Staff with +20energy and 20%enchant my energy is 50, with a sword with +5energy and 20%enchant and a 20/20 offhand i have 47energy. so if you think the 3energy is better then the 20/20 go with the staff if not go with the sword
i think you are see more monks using shields/swords now because of GW:EN. you have to have titles to get elite armor now so we are forced to pve to look good in GvG/HA :P |
