My favorite pure healing build would be...
WoH [E]
Patient spirit
Sig of Rejuv
Heal other / Dwaynas kiss (depending on what you know about the monsters before hand)
Holy veil
Ether Signet
Waste not, Want not (for experienced players)
Res Chant
Great energy for spamming and what not. I wouldn't recommend this if you don't have at least 1 Prot monk with you.
Overall my favorite monk to play would be...
Shield of Regen [E]
Life Bond
Blessed sig
Mantra inscriptions
Ether sig
Aegis
SoA / Deny hexes
Auspicious Incantation
Great protection, massive energy to spam SoR and Aegis. Enchant removals really f*ck (stupid filter) up this build, so again... It all depends where you're going.

The thing with pure healing monks is that they're not as useful as a hybrid. You only need, at the most, three healing skills. The rest would be put to better use with energy management, condition and hex removal, and insane prots.
I'd recommend this for PvE.
[build prof M/E div=9+1 hea=12+1+1 pro=9+1][Word of Healing] [Protective Spirit] [Dwayna's Kiss] or [patient spirit] [Shield of Absorption] [Guardian] [dismiss condition] [Cure Hex] [/build] with one optional slot. Usually [GoLE] goes there, but considering there's only one 10 energy spell, it's not always necessary. [Signet of Rejuvenation] can be a nice replacement.
Of course, there are plenty of variants to go around, but the general consensus is that two hybrid monks are more useful than 1 heal + 1 prot.

Again, hybrid monks are more useful, but it's PvE. Anything goes.

[Shield of Regeneration] is my other Elite (WoH was the first, welcome to doing Proh in semi-order). At 15 E, it seemed a bit too unwieldly, even in my WoH bar when I capped it (Being the only ~5 energy spell). Like a slightly better Healing Breeze with a short casting time.
the [Aegis] nerf has kept that on my bar for the time being. When it goes back to 10 E, I might put it back in for Guardian. I did grab it when going against raptors in the Sparkfly Swamp though.

I would say at this time it best to start experimenting with a Hybrid and use WoH as your elite. You can then go from there on and as well don't use SoR on a bonder build most use Barrier.I do believe that you only got only got Proph. and EoTN.You can't get SoA or Dismiss but Mend Condition is nice and at the lvl you are at now I would use Protective Spirit.Aegis is ok even at 15e but use it sparingly.

I really like divert hexes. Sexy heal, and in most area's there are plenty of hexes.

I've got them all actualy, and finished Proph and Factions. My Mesmer is half-way though nightfall and EotN as well (She's the one who's finished the other two). I just have skills yet to unlock account wide (and character wide).
I'm sorta torn on my Heroes. I just unlocked Livia, and walked to Rata Sum with her as a Sab SS (missing a skill from later in NF), Olias as a Sab MM, and a caster support Paragon (Hayda) that was certaintly a clunky build, but offered a little bit of caster support, interuption, healing, and damage. I might swap her out for Jin, who I had set up as an interuptor, but Zho does a pretty good job at that. Maybe I just need to take Vekk or Gwen.
Am I better taking a Healer or Protector hench monk?

To start with i'd suggest something like [Healer's Boon] and the general healing stuff, eg [Dwayna's Kiss] and [Orison of Healing], but take [Heal Party] as i find if i'm learning it helps to be able to heal without the trouble of selecting if the going get's tough

I've actually been monking for a while now, but thanks
I've found, as I've grown more experienced, [gole] has become more useful to me than I thought it was. I want to try out [divine spirit], because on paper, it should be more beneficial to me (I don't carry many spells over 5 E if I can avoid it, so as soon as I cast the 3rd spell for the duration, I'm up on 1 use, and if I get 5 in, I'm up over 60 seconds).
A good thing to remember, is that you are a team, so you don't always need every kind of removal and protection, and I you can rely on spells you can't cast on yourself, as the other healer can clean you up if need be.
I love [cure hex]. It's a nice heal, that just happens to remove a hex, so I keep it on my bar as basicaly a 3rd heal if I need it as well as hex removal. Only thing that knocks it off my bar is a Mesmer running Hex Eater signet, and even then, it's not bad to keep for extra cleanup.
I need to get more practice with weapon swapping, but I finally got a good wand (finished EotN) worth swapping to from Kephit's Refuge (or whatever that enchanting green staff is called). Probably need a better weapon/shield set, and a high energy set, but hey, it's progress.
